Take a look at Tip It's Range training spots You can get a lot of good ideas there. The minotaurs in the SoS are nice because they drop a lot of arrows so you can use the drops to kill even more minotaurs. Also, pick up your arrows whenever you can. That way you get about 4 times as many shots out of them. That translates to about a 14 level increase over not picking them up for the same number of arrows. Hope this helps
  2. 98 You need another 6000 arrows to reach 99 83 For F2P I always liked the 2 lessers on the top of Crandor Island They are almost always available and there are safe spots you can shoot from. I never even bothered to bring food since I always pulled them over tome with a Curse spell first. The SoS is another possibility since you can get lotsa arrows as drops. I dunno about P2P though, sorry. Hope this helps
  3. One of the things that Jagex changed from RSC to RS(2) was the desirability of weapons. In RSC everyone used the 2 hander. Jagex wasn't happy with that. (you can read about it in the behind the scenes news) So for RS(2) they changed the weapons to have a speed vs damage tradeoff. So, for the commonly available weapons you have, in general: Fast weapons have low damage Med speed weapions have med damage Slow weapons have high damage. The scimmy is faster than the long but doesn't do as much damage per hit. Most players seem to prefer the faster scimmy and then use a strength amulet and strength potions (available to all players) to boost the damage output. Also, you have to look at the defenses of the monster that you are fighting and how your weapon takes advantage of any weakness in it. The scimmy and long both have good slash ability. So they would be effective against cloth or skin defenses. The scimmy is poor with stab but the long is good with stab. Chain mail is weak against a stab attack. So the long would be a much better weapon against a chain mail wearing enemy (guards) than the scimmy would. Ice giants are weak against crush attacks. So, a 2 hander or baxe might be effective against those guys. Finally, you can consider other factors like: poison, shield or not, dueling, PKing, etc. Bottom line is that different weapons are better in different situations and you really should know what is important in every encounter. But overall, the scimmy with an amulet and pots is a good training choice. Hope this helps
  4. Hope that works out for you. It's in a multicombat area of the wildy where you can't tele away from the PKers. So, most players think that it's not worth the hassle. But, whatever works for you...
  5. There are lots of ways... ... provided that you do other time consuming things as well. You could certainly earn money by hi-alching if you mined, smelted, and smithing the products yourself. You could be even, moneywise, if you mined all of your own rune essense and cast your own Strike or Curse spells. Why? Failed Cursing is about the most cost effective way to raise magic in F2P. If you don't like it then maybe you should get a membership. Hope this helps
  6. Well, the raw runite ore sells for a little less than the bar itself. So, if you want to make money, getting 85 mining could be almost as good. 85 mining would cost you only time, 85 smithing would cost time and a lot of money. Hope this helps
  7. IIRC, there are 2 piles of nature runes on the "nature rune island" that is guarded by lesser demons in the NE part of the wildy. 3 nats in 1 pile 4 nats in the other. There is also a chaos rune spawn in the central wildy guarded by moss giants and a triple cosmic rune spawn in the NW part of the wildy guarded by Ice giants. Hope this helps
  8. Well, you earn exp according to the hit that you do and not (directly) on the level of the monster. So, if you train on monsters much lower than you, you can be hitting constantly and be taking very little damage yourself. If you can move on to another monster as soon as the present monster dies, then you would be earning exp about as fast as possible in F2P. A place with fast respawning, lower level monsters is the first or second level of the SoS. You should be able to slaughter the monsters down there for hours at a time with no breaks for food or banking. Try the minotaurs or fleshcrawlers. Hope this helps
  9. Pretty close. The formula that you need is simply 15000/(1-0.8) = 75000 Hope this helps
  10. Well, if you had Iron arrows and picked up 75% of them then 15k would get you to 85.2 and 116k would get you to 99 Hope this helps
  11. Diango also does the Scythe now. I always went to Thessalia in the Varrock clothes store to get it back but now Diango offers it back as well. It's probably in both places now. Kinda surprised me when I saw it in his list. Yeah, Scythe was available to all players.
  12. You can also try the first or second levels of the SoS. It's full of small rooms with fast respawning monsters. That allows you to be killing almost non-stop. Remember, you earn exp accoring to the hit that you do and not (directly) on the level of the monster. So, if you can be hitting constantly then you are doing well. Plus, if you are fighting lower level monsters, then you might not even have to bring any food. That would allow hours of non-stop slaughter. Hmmm, not the best attitude to have when asking other players for help...
  13. It depends on the defenses of the enemy that you are fighting. If you are fighting a chain mail wearing enemy then the (stabbing) long sword is effective. The slash of the scimmy and longsword is not effective against chain. If it's almost any other "armor" then the slash of the scimmy and long will be effective. The scimmy is faster than the long but is also weaker. The long is slower than the scimmy but also stronger. So, get yourself a strength ammy and a 4 dose strength potion (made by the apothecary in Varrock for 5 gp) and try the scimmy. Well, the same tradeoffs exist in these weapons as for the above 2. Namely, a tradeoff between fast/slow speed and weak/strong power. Most players prefer a middle of the road approach and use the scimmy for it's good speed and reasonable strength. (with the above boost items) The 2nder requires that you give up a shield item and it's slow speed makes it less popular. But, you really have to look at what the monster is weak against to know what weapon is most effective against it. Finally, Jagex has stated in the "Behind the scenes" news back when RS2 was coming out that they wanted all weapons to be useful. In RSC, the rune 2hder was "it" but for RS2 Jagex wanted players to have more variety. Hope this helps
  14. You need to mine, at most, 8235 iron ore to reach your goal. Iron is probably the fastest that you can do. I used the 3 iron rocks along the west wall of the Al-Kharid scorp mine. I would mine 3 and then drop 3 and then repeat... Hope this helps
  15. They could if they wanted to. The Jagex system administrators have write permission over every file on the server. They can do anything they want to any file in the game. No. Jagex wrote the software that creates and maintains the character database. They could certainly re-write any character data that they choose. True. But Jagex system administrators don't need your password to change your account. Their status as "Root" system admins means that their password overrides yours.
  16. It sounds like you are looking for a monster that will allow fast exp training. (Instead of gold drops or loot) Try the minotaurs or fleshcrawlers in the first or second levels of the SoS. They are a lot lower than you and respawn quickly in "small" crowded rooms. Hence, you can be hitting and killing constantly (with fast exp) but not need much food for yourself. Hope this helps
  17. You can look here to select a place. Try the Lumbridge South-West mine. It's not to far from the Draynor village bank. Hope this helps
  18. You can look here to find sites. SE Varrock is close but crowded. Hope this helps
  19. Raising Prayer in F2P is very hard. Big bones give 15 exp each. They drop from Giants and they do respawn in the central east wildy. Or, get millions in gp and buy them. Better yet, get P2P. They have many better ways to raise prayer. (PC) Hope this helps
  20. Try the first or second levels of the SoS. You earn exp according to the hit that you do and not, (directly), on the monster's level. So if you are constanly hitting and killing then you are doing about as well as is possible. If the monsters can't hurt you (much) then you don't even have to stop for food breaks. The SoS is ideal for that because it has small rooms full of fast respawning monsters. Try the minotaurs or fleshcrawlers. Hope this helps
  21. That's true for most items, (logs, fish, ore, arrows, etc), when sold in large quantities. You can buy lots of feathers from the fishing store in Port Sarim. World hop to keep the price low. Then, resell, in note form, to someone else. Use the Tip It marketplace forums Or, you could go to worlds 1 or 2 and stand outside the Varrock or Fally banks and yell out what you are selling. Hope this helps
  22. Mining is relatively fast if you power mine iron. That means you mine and then drop the ore and repeat. The SE & SW Varrock mines are popular. Also, try the Al-Kharid scorpion mine. Look here for mining spots. Smithing is a lot harder to raise. If you do the Knight's Sword quest then you can jump right to level 29 or so. After that, you earn exp by smelting and/or smithing. You can smelt silver, gold, iron, steel, etc. You can smith iron, steel, etc. Steel needs 2 coal for every 1 iron ore. As a result, smithing is a lot slower to raise. Look here for Tip It's guide. Hope this helps
  23. Hmm, according to the official Jagex map of Runescape, the Crafting Guild has a pottery oven and not a smelting furnace. Are you sure that you can smelt ore in it?
  24. Look here for SoS level info. Hope this helps
  25. can u be a little more specific? like wat monster?? Almost any monster on the first or second levels will work. You earn exp according to the hit that you do and not (directly) on the level of the monster. So, you may as well spend your time slaughtering lower level monsters. That way, you won't need much food (because they won't hurt you much) and there's always another monster ready to be killed. The SoS is great for that because it has lots of fast respawning monsters in small rooms. You could try the minotaurs on level 1 or, for more challenge, the flesh crawlers on level 2. Hope this helps
