  1. Or 86 Lesser Demons Well, both are usually crowded. I got to level 80 in F2P ranging using the 2 lessers on the top of Crandor Island. I always had them to myself so I got fast exp and good drops. IIRC, it would take me about 25 bronze arrows per kill and I got 20 back. If you use the safe spots then you don't need any food. And, if you pull them with a Curse, then you can use each arrow about 4 times before it breaks. Or, try the SoS, the minotaurs drop a lot of arrows. Hope this helps
  2. Make silver Tiaras That's gonna make it a lot slower. IIRC, you don't need the buckets. The previous bowls will hold the water. In F2P you earn crafting exp as: Silver Tiaras = 52.5 Silver Holy symbols = 50 Hard leather = 35 Clay bowl = 33 Gold amulet = 30 So if you want to do it cheaply and in large quantities then you really have only 3 options: * mine silver and/or gold in guild, walk to fally, bank, repeat. Then smelt and craft in Al-Kharid later. Most walking * kill cows next to guild, gather hides, use tanner on second floor of guild, make hard leather, repeat. Medium walking * mine clay in guild and make bowls. Least walking It's not gonna be fast no matter what you do. You could do each of these for 30 minutes or so and then select whatever works best for you. Or, get members. You could do it much better there. (FWIW, I got to level 75 in F2P using silver) Hope this helps
  3. You earn combat exp as Exp = HitDone*4 The level of the monster doesn't matter much. So, you may as well fight lots of lower level monsters and save on healing food. For fast training you want to be hitting a monster all the time. Try the first or second level of the Stronghold of Security. It has rooms crowded with lower level monster that respawn quickly. You can kill non-stop for hours down there. Low level monsters for fast training. High level monsters for good loot Hope this helps
  4. Well, it depends on how you define "best" But the cheapest way is not the fastest and the fastest is not the cheapest. But, here are some things to consider... -- leveling magic is a trade-off between time and money. you can RC all of your own runes and level up for a cost of 0 gp, buts lots of time. Or, you can mine, smith, craft, fletch, etc and then Hi-Alch the results and make money. -- failed Curses is a very cost effective way to raise magic. You can buy all of the runes for less than 30 gp per cast and always earn 29 per cast. AFAIK, no other store bought runes give you as much exp per gp spent as does Curse. About 6500 casts will let you reach your goal. -- Camelot teleport is popular if you have the law runes -- can you earn magic exp with Pest Control? Hope this helps
  5. Thank you for clarifying that I doubt that you can. You finished the quest so you don't need that boat anymore since the door is open. IIRC, it's back in Port Sarim and has been renamed "Clarence's Cruiser" You can think of the boat that is wrecked on Crandor Island as someone else's... BTW, I hope that you kept the key to get in Melzar's maze. Free players can never get another one if they lose it. Members can though.
  6. Yes, I think that we know that already. Opening the door first is a smart thing to do in case you fail in killing Elvarg. Smart players go past Elvarg's lair to open the door before attemping Elvarg. That way, if they fail, they don't have to go back and do the whole fix the boat thing. They just try again later from the Karamja Island side...
  7. Well, that's what we are trying to verify. Did you ever open the secret door from the Crandor Island side before trying it from the Karamja side? The normal procedure is: Go to Crandor, open secret door, kill Elvarg, exit any way, use secret door from Karamja side at any time. You did(?): Go to Crandor, Kill Elvarg, Teleport away, use secret door from Karamja side at any time. :-k
  8. Please tell us, were able to open the secret door?
  9. He would have needed about 5000 lamps to do it that way...
  10. Well, if all of your HPs were earned in melee, then (based on your stats) you would have earned about 2 million in HP exp. Thats about HP level 80. The P2P guy, under the same assumptions, would have earned about 3.1 million in HP exp. That would be HP level 84-85 So, yeah, he got a lot of exp from something other than just fighting. He could have done it if his last 6 Str levels came from PC or similar. Hope this helps

That what it says here right above Miscellaneous Information...

That means that you must use Mind, Chaos, or Death runes Average exp per cast is: Fire Strike = 19 Fire Bolt = 34 Fire Blast = 50 Cheapest would be Mind runes. Cost is zero (only time) if you make them yourself. It's always gonna take "ages", lol You are. This is Runescape after all... You could try Crumble Undead (average exp per cast = 39) It's a sort of compromise between leveling speed and cost. Raising skills is usually a compromise between time and money. You can usually speed things up if you have the money to spend. Or, get members. They have far more options for leveling than does F2P. Hope this helps

No Free players can Hi-alch The gp that you get is 1.5 times the value of that item (when 0 are in stock) in the general store. Also, IIRC, the wildy bandit store buys at the hi-alch price. Hope this helps
  14. The normal way to return to Crandor Island is to use the secret door under the Karamja volcano. Did you remember to open it from the Crandor Island side first? IIRC, if you die when you are with the dragon then you can refix the boat and try again. If you kill Elvarg then, maybe the door is unlocked for you automatically. Try it and see. Otherwise there would be a bunch of angry players that could never reach Crandor Island. Hope this helps
  15. True. Anything that gets the monster mad at you will work. Not really. The runes used for Curse are cheaply and readily available from the magic stores. You only need 1 cast per monster to pull it over to you so you won't be using up your runes very fast at all. Plus, Curse always gives 29 magic exp vs an average of 7.5 for Wind Strike. Since your combat level depends on your dominant fighting stat, even a pureish Ranger can afford to have magic levels without penalty. Hope this helps

Not true. I successfully cast curse like 1/100 in any gear... But what was your magic attack stat with the gear that you had on? I agree with elmo_killer6. I have cast thousands on Curses with -65 for my magic attack and with level 80 magic and I have always failed. Hope this helps
  17. There are 2 or 3 safe spots on the Northern edge and 1 just south of the Eastern edge. Can you can pick up your knives? (I'm F2P) If you can, then always pull the monster over to your safe spot with a Curse before starting to throw. That way, everything will be in the monster loot pile when it dies just outside your safe spot. Also, you shouldn't need much, if any, food at all since you will rarely get hit. Hope this helps
  18. There are lots of places that would work well for you. The main thing to remember is that you earn exp based on Exp = HitDone*4 and not on the level of the monster. So, if you want to train "fast", easily, and safely then try non-stop killing of frequently spawning lower level monsters. Since they are lower level, you would not need much (if any at all!) food. Since they are frequently spawning, you can start killing the next one right away without waiting for a respawn or having it stolen by another player. One place that provides monsters like that is the SoS. You could try the minotaurs or fleshcrawlers. Hope this helps
  19. You could reach your goal with about 10600 Iron arrows if you picked them up. I always liked the 2 lessers on the top of Crandor Island. There are safe spots to the N and SE of their area. They drop rune meds, mith shields, gold, etc. If you use Curse pulling then you don't even need to bother with healing food. Hope this helps
  20. aaa

For things not on that list, just Value the item in the General store when 0 are in stock. You get 1.5 times the General Store value when you Hi-Alch. IIRC, the bandit store in the wildy will buy at the Hi-Alch value. Hope this helps
  21. If what works? 6 wc levels in an hour doesn't sound bad to me. The best advice that I can give is to use the best axe that you can. And, don't switch to cutting the higher level trees as soon as you can. I usually just drop the logs and keep on cutting. For example, yew gives more exp per cut than willow. But I earn more exp in an hour with willow than with yew. (level 80 wc, btw) Hope this helps
  22. Because that's the way that Jagex designed the melee system. We might not like it, we might not agree with it, but, until Jagex changes it, we have to live with it...
  23. You can get to 46 if you don't pick up your arrows, but almost 57 if you do pick them up. I got to 80 (with bronze arrows, lol) by using the 2 lessers on the top of crandor island. There are safe spots in the North and South-East of their walk area. I always cast a Curse on them first to "pull' them over next to my safe spot. Then, and only then, I began to range them on rapid. After they die, all of your recoverable arrows are in the loot pile just outside your safe spot. I never bothered to take any healing food since I never got hit. I usually brought runes to hi-alch decent drops (rune meds and mith shields) and then used the home teleport to bank every few days. Hope this helps
  24. Well, the exp that you earn is based directly on the hit that you do. Exp = HitDone*4 and not on the level of the monster. So, I prefer to level fast by doing non-stop slaughter of fast spawning monsters that can't hurt me. I find that the first 2 levels of the SoS are ideal for that. IIRC, the flesh crawlers will auto attack anyone. If you can find a room crowded with lower level monsters that respawn quickly, then you can kill non-stop for hours without having to stop for healing food or bank runs. Hope this helps
  25. Curse will always give you the full 29 magic exp with every cast. But if Curse "hits" then you can't re-curse the same monster for awhile. So, for non-stop cursing (and "fast" training) you want to "fail" when you cast. Either way, you always get the same 29 exp. So, for fast training, you wear gear with the worst magic attack stat. That's full helm, chest plate, legs, kite shield, and SoS boots to get to -68 If you use a staff (to save on runes) then you should also equip green dragonhide vambraces. You can use any metal. Bronze works as well as Rune. Then go find some safe place and cast away. I like to use multi-combat zones so that I (almost) always have a target. Good places to try are: cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water at the 4 zombies in the ladder room caged red monk under the Varrock palace stairs caged lesser at the top of the wizzy tower Port Sarim jail prisoners scorpions from the rim of the desert mine river ducks There are lots of places that will work Curse gives more exp than every mind rune based spell and all of the runes can be made in F2P. Hope this helps
