Charms
Dust Devils don't have good charm drop rates. Waterfiends are much better. Of course, you're right about the rock lobbies, but if you're willing to chin dust devils, just melee them. It's faster and more effective. I was killing dusties faster with ice burst than a level 133 guy was with melee in the chaos tunnels. But it did take some practice.

Charms
Sure they do, it just takes a bit of work.

Good item to alch?
I know, I've made more than a few myself ;) But I suspect the vast majority of those end up being alched by the person who smithed them.

Good item to alch?
That's not bad. I noticed that the differential on addy plates is very close to zero, but I doubt you can buy them very often.
-
Good item to alch?
You have to make things yourself in order to not lose money. There is nothing you can buy on the GE that sells for less than its alch price + the price of a nature rune.

Charms
Once you get to 65, you can try bursting or chinning dust devils in chaos tunnels. It's faster than killing them normally, and you can pick up 60-70 charms an hour that way, more once you get good at it. Not quite the payoff of rock lobs in terms of charms, but it's a fast way to get through dust devil tasks if nothing else. And it's safer and easier to get to than rock lobsters (I'm basing that on what I've read - never done rock lobs myself :? ).

Camping Spiritual Mages
Wrench gives 2 extra prayer points at level 75? Sweet, didn't know that. Looks like my dragon killing quota just went up another 3k :wall:

How much weaker are grey chinchompas?
Relative to the red ones, of course, how much lower will my max hit be? Since I am planning on using them where I can only hit 5-6 enemies at once, I'd like to be more economical about it and use the grey ones if I would only lose like 2-3 max hit with them. I'm also not averse to hunting my own chinchompas, but I haven't done it much since before people knew much about them, and don't know what to expect with hunting for either kind. Will the greys be emptier? Are the red chinchompa spots always crowded?

Opinions on Revenants?
Hey, that's a very good idea. Combine that with amped up p2p revs and toned down f2p revs, you might actually have an active wildy again. Possibly even more active than before.

Combat, Slayer and Quests
Yep, I would say, do slayer right from the start. That way, you'll get quite a stockpile of charms by the time you get around to training summoning.

Charms without Combat
Really? That's terrible!

Banshee slayer advice
There are level 90-something banshees located elsewhere, but what's the deal with getting sick of killing the level 23 banshees? You won't find more consistently valuable drops with any other monster. I pray for banshee assignments every time I go!

Charms without Combat
Well, as always, it's best to do what you like ;) Yeah, I'm sure about the half XP thing. I went to kill some cows using recoils with my level 3 guy, and only only got 4 slayer XP per kill. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that you actually get slayer XP 2 ways when you kill something - half for doing the most damage, and half for striking the fatal blow. I'm assuming that because you get no combat XP with recoils, the game doesn't recognize you as having done damage with the recoil, so it only credits you with the XP for striking the fatal blow. And considering that even at 1 defence with no armor on the cows can't hit you that often, it's an awful lot of time to spend for a measly 4 XP. But I could definitely see recoils as a more viable training method with aggressive monsters that will hit you regularly for 1.

Smithing 56-99 Rough Cost
There is no reason to lose money in levelling smithing. Pay as much as you like up until level 88, but from then on, you can make a nice profit smelting addy bars at the blast furnace, and smithing and alching addy plates. You will make a profit of 300-400 per bar, and you will get a little over 40k smithing XP per hour, averaged out between smelting & smithing time. You will make back what you spent plus a heck of a lot more. If you are set on spending money for the fastest possible method, then buying addy bars to make plates beats smelting gold ore in money spent by a bit, and in time spent by a WHOLE FREAKING LOT! Before level 88, gold ore is better than other fast methods (fast methods meaning buying bars directly to smith), although the blast furnace making bolts/mith plates is a reasonable alternative. I preferred to make mith plates down there & alch when I only had mith to do, because it is significantly faster than bolts, but you do lose money with plates (around 2 gp per XP), while you will make some money with bolts. Just quickly calculating here, you need about 75,000 gold ore from 56-88, and using current market prices & assuming you sell the gold bars, you will lose (509-182) = 327 per ore, for a total loss of 24,525,000 gp to level 88. From 88-99, you need about 138,400 addy bars. This works out like this - bars are 2300 apiece. 5 for a plate costs 11,500. Add in the 230 cost of a nature rune, you have 11,730. Subtract the 9984 alching cost, and you lose 1746 per plate, or 349.2 per bar*. This is an additional loss of 48,330,000 gp. Bringing your total loss to 72,855,000. Roughly. * Your loss of 327 per gold ore figures out to a cost of 327/56.2 = 5.82 gp per XP. Addy figures out to 349.2/62.5 = 5.59 gp per XP.

Charms without Combat
Yeah, but it is far, far slower than using lamps and such. I've tried it, and even killing cows, you hit them often enough, even with flowers, that eventually your combat level will go up. It would be easier with aggressive monsters using recoils, but keep in mind that you only get half of the normal slayer XP for killing a monster with recoils. Besides, smithing f2p is faster than runecrafting, even if you just smelt steel. RC is a much better use, IMO :)

Charms without Combat
Wow, you used lamps on smithing? Would have been much better off using them for slayer, since you can't actually train it yourself ;)
-
Air RuneCrafting
It would be much faster to use a dueling ring to bank and then a skills necklace to tele to the crafting guild.

Charms without Combat
XP lamps and penguins can get you into the 60s in a fairly short amount of time, and you should be able to do Cold War to up your XP gains from penguins. You unfortunately can't do much, if any, of the achievement diaries at level 3, but you should be able to tackle One Small Favour for 20k XP. You could perhaps do Tail of Two Cats as well, and Swept Away, which have choosable XP rewards.

Do you have a clan that is willing to burst rock lobsters and let you mooch their charms?

I need some salamander (weapon) info
Don't know about ranged or melee, but I can hit over 20 (i believe my max is 22, but it has been a while since I used one) with the magic attack, and I believe it is faster than normal spells. But the XP for magic sucks, because you don't get any "casting" XP like you would for a spell. Something Jagex needs to fix, IMO, by upping the mage XP from salamanders to 4 per damage, instead of just 2.

Crushing Weapon
It has a higher crush bonus than both of those weapons :?
-
Charms without Combat
Not sure how the guys fighting would feel about that, though.
-
Crushing Weapon
What I meant was that slower doesn't necessarily mean worse, if the slower weapon hits more often.
-
Crushing Weapon
I realize it's slow, but speed isn't an advantage if you can't hit your target.
-
Crushing Weapon
Doesn't Dharok's Greataxe have higher crush and strength than either the flail or anchor?
