  1. Decent as in lots of crimson? As good as dusties? And, are they rangeable?
  2. Are the zombies good charm droppers?
  3. Gold ore is only useful if you plan on crafting the bars after smelting.
  4. I like the nighshade idea, hadn't thought of that one
  5. This is the best idea. Get a nature amulet, and bind it to the patch near Draynor. Plant a seed in My Arm's patch. Stand by the patch in Catherby and alch, where you'll have people to keep you company there - of course, you can always go to Port Phas or Ardy if you want to be left alone  Plant the Catherby patch last, and then you will have 3 herb patches growing at once that you can harvest instantly, with a 0% chance of dying if you pay minimal attention. Add in marigolds in Cath and Draynor for extra money; watermelons in both places for extra XP.
  6. Are you interested in the fastest possible method, or making money?
  7. True, but an ectophial is so useful that it's worth going and getting one if you don't already have it ;)
  8. It's no faster than Port Phasmatys, and there is no extra clicking there.
  9. Yes, skills necklaces are the only option, but they deposit you right at the top of the ladders outside the guild, so it is an extremely efficient banking method. Don't know about the clay equipment, but if you really want to maximize your mining XP/hour, go buy a bunch of addy ore to superheat. You'll be able to mine around 600 coal per hour doing this if you really concentrate. This is very slightly faster than mith because of the less frequent banking trips.
  10. There is indeed, and there are now 7 rocks there, making it the best spot in the game to mine addy. Just bring an elf crystal to teleport back near the Lletya bank, hop worlds a few times, and your pack will be full in about 15 minutes. You can even bring a beast of burden if you like. For f2p, the best for both is lumby swamp, although it is typically very crowded. Hobgoblin mine is faster, even though you have to walk up there, and almost always empty because of the danger. I find the best middle ground to be superheating in Edgeville dungeon. 1 mith rock, 2 addy rocks, and plenty of coal. It's usually empty, and you will probably only need to hop worlds once if you are superheating.
  11. The dark wizards south of Varrock drop a nice assortment of runes, including natures fairly often. Because they are quick kills, you will fill up on runes fairly quickly, including lots of natures.
  12. Well, since you can't superheat, your coal mining operation will be rather limited. For all out speed, your best bet is to use the mining guild and bank with dueling rings, and teleport back to the guild with skills necklaces. The best spot in the guild has a grouping of 6 ore which 90% of the time, on a full world with no competition (easier to achieve than you might think on members worlds), I can mine fully and get back to the first rock as it respawns. Given a 30 second respawn rate, you could fill your pack in about 2.5 minutes. With a banking time of 10-15 seconds, it works out to about 600 ore per hour, give or take, if you concentrate on what you are doing.
  13. You answered your own question with mage. If you make staves or d'hide bodies, just alch them. Any skill that transforms raw materials into usable objects is useful for training magic as well, if you don't mind alching.
  14. 70 smithing is definitely worth it, you can use the blast furnace to smelt addy bars and make a profit of around 700 per bar. You can also use the addy bars to make and sell bolts, if you are interested in reaching higher smithing levels and making a profit from it. And once you hit level 88, you can get reasonably fast XP and make some pretty good money in the process.
  15. Um, no, what I said was it puts you at a disadvantage time-wise because of how you have to travel there. I didn't once say you were exaggerating because of your level, I'm saying you are exaggerating because A. rune ores have only recently gotten to around 18k (now 17.8k), so unless you hung on to all of those ores this whole time, you didn't get nearly that much, and B. even at 17.8k, that's 49 ores per hour. I didn't look at your data THAT closely, but I don't think your MINIMUM per hour is 870k. You might top that some times, but I doubt that is your minimum. Meanwhile, I can probably do as well as you using the Hero's guild, if I was so inclined, although admittedly it is harder to get going initially. By your method, perhaps, but the method I use can get over 60 somewhat frequently. Not a whole lot over 60, mind you, but more than an ore per minute is easily doable, unless you get stuck a few times taking 2 minutes or more to mine an ore. I do it all in my head. It's instant. No checking Excel, no switching programs to type things in, or anything like that. I was simply giving out the formula to inform someone else who asked the question.
  16. After a few days of recon, you can figure out which worlds typically are empty. All you need to do is find up to 10 worlds which have rune rocks spawned, and note how many players there are on each world. Rune rocks respawn in 25 minutes on an empty world, 18.25 minutes on a world with 1000 players, and 12.5 minutes on a full world. Then all you need to do is take the # of players on each server you mine on, and figure out based on that how long it will take the rune rocks to respawn. Hop to each world around the time you have calculated for the respawn, and mine the rocks again. Use the formula T = 12.5 + (2000-x)/160 to determine respawn time, where x is the number of people on a given world, and time is expressed in decimal form. To convert from decimal form to minutes and seconds, take the portion after the decimal that you get for T and multiply by 3/5. Mathematically, this is 0.6(T - INT(T)) + INT(T). What you have will be a decimal number that expresses the time to respawn in minutes & seconds.
  17. You need excel to time worlds? I never said it wasn't an advantage to be level 3. I just said that travel method isn't the most efficient for people with higher levels, mainly because of revenants, and that the travel method for a level 3 is slower than you need it to be. I do significantly better than that most of the time, although I overestimated the threat of revenants to a level 3, since you rarely seem to encounter them. How do you manage to get all of your times ending in 0? Why not just grab the time from the system?
  18. Aberrant Specters, most likely, they drop herb seeds fairly often. I usually walk away from Turoth assignments with a lot of seeds as well. For non-slayer monsters, I get a lot of herb seeds from Dagannoths under the lighthouse.
  19. A fuller house means shorter loading times? Cool, didn't know that
  20. I believe that is also the best spot for running back and forth from a bank, if you have done Swan Song and can bank in Piscatoris.
  21. Keep in mind that even though banshees melee you up close, their attack will hit based on magic, so wear the best magic defense gear you can - dragonhides and an elemental/mind shield will work nicely. And don't forget earmuffs, or you will die very quickly.
  22. That's not the fastest way to do it, and you can never find enough empty rocks to mine that many ores per hour, at least, not when you first get there. Also, I don't know how many times you've done this, but dying twice with full inventories isn't an efficient use of your time ;) And people who aren't level 3 will almost certainly run into a much wider array of revenants capable of killing a defenseless rune miner.
  23. Also, another question - if you were using your own altar, how long do the marrentill's last before you need to relight the burners?
  24. Why do you need to put your house in Yanille? Wouldn't it need to be where the house owner's house is, which might not necessarily be Yanille? Using your own, can't you put it anywhere?
  25. Mounted glory and home teleport. 60% of the time, it works every time 8-)
