  1. In 21 weeks, I have never had an exception to fishing being the easiest, and hunter being the hardest. Based on everyone I've talked to, there's VERY STRONG evidence to suggest this is generally agreed upon.
  2. Got to say I adore the frost dragons. I'm just a terrible clicker, so things like Tormented Demons are an awful idea. These guys are a nice balance of manageable difficulty, steady worthwhile drops, and ease of access. Should Frost bones plummet, I'll simply use them, making this a total win-win for me.
  3. Hunter is for clickers. Sorry!
  4. After recently achieving 83 dungeoneering, I decided it was time for a break. I've been working that skill hard for a long time, and though I had promised myself a few breaks, none had come. I decided to pause to pick up a handful of skills and things I've been putting off for too long, while my dungeoneering burnout period wears off. Specifically, I wanted: 91 Mining90 Hunter91 Hunter[*Miscellania emptying Not too ambitious, and already well on my way. 91 mining was a breeze; it only showed up on my radar because I was close to completing it anyway. Hunter levels are slow to come by, but it's nice that each level has a significant in game bonus. At 90 I can hunt tyrannomastyxes in Dungeoneering, and at 91 I can do Kingly Implings and low level effigies. In the meanwhile, I've found that doddling about has some serious benefits! I've been much more consistent with my battlestaves, borking, kingdom management, and even got into the effigy game. For really minimal work, I'm pulling in 30k experience / day in farming, crafting, smithing, or mining. Not a bad gig! Quick question; does shared exp reset at the midnight hour in GMT, or is it more like Juna's Tears of Guthix, which resets based on a window since you gained exp?
  5. Well, if you're this far I'm sure you understand the innuendo here. If not, I hate to disappoint you, but Penthouse Forums reside elsewhere and I don't write that type of nonsense anywho! The recent change to climbing boots (rock climbing boots, as they are now known) has the community in an understandable uproar. Inflation has long been one of the biggest concerns of the game, as we have seen cash influx at a very high rate, specifically due to changes in drop tables, shop behavior, and the Grand Exchange. The exacerbation of inflation as a result of this update cannot be understated. Figuring I was sick of watching my gold pile dwindle as my purchasing power plummets, I decided to get out there and do something about it. I actually bought 25 abyssal whips at the GE mid price, and was pleased to see the price climb today. I'm watching the price closely, but am very much hooked on the concept of merchanting in the future. For someone of reasonable wealth (my cash pile was in the 150M range), it truly seems to be the fastest way to gain (or lose) cash. With commodity materials, however, pricing is relatively fixed, and by hedging my bet over a few inversely performing products, I should be able to fair quite well. Stay tuned on this one. The last time I got into merching was years ago, and I was buuuurned by a few rares which quickly plummeted with the dissolution of free trade. Hopefully my once bitten, twice shy nature will protect me from more stupid decisions (hah!).
  6. I can't imagine that Jagex didn't foresee the impact this could have on the economy. That being said, I have no idea why they would have done this. Is there any reason to force in such inflation? This is crazyness.
  7. 82 RS? Siobby, did you hit 82 Runescaping? I'd think you were a level 99 already!
  8. Well, it's electronic sunshine, which should count for something. I finally hit level 80 dungeoneering and figured it was about time to climb out of there for a bit. It's still my lowest skill by quite a bit, but at least I have the peace of mind that I've unlocked access to everything that can be had. Also, I've got about 100K tokens, which is certainly enough to make a nice dent in whatever update comes my way. I got up to the surface level, and tried to get back into my routine. Battlestaves, Bork, Seaweed and sand. Miscellania check. I actually emptied Miscellania, and cleaning all of those herbs took an embarassingly long time (although I must come clean; I sold my harralanders and tarromin because I still have over 1k of each). I also got that lawyer's wig, Barrister or Bannister or something to that effect. Whatever; it doesn't fit in my costume room so I'm a little cranky about the whole ordeal. Those cases are FUN, but attack and defence exp are not in the top 50 of my priorities right now. I think I'd like to start striding back towards getting 90 in all skills (besides dungeoneering, at least until round 2 hits the presses). I've got lots of gross construction to do, as well as plenty of thieving, hunting, runecrafting, and a dash of herblore. Maybe I should finally bite the bullet on crafting all my amulets, and get magic up to be able to vengeance within the dungeons (embarrassing that I cannot!). Either way, I feel like a vampire on a day pass out in the high plain of Gielenor. Look for me rambling through, looking confused and unambitious!
  9. When you start thinknig about the details of what is labeled "Legit" here, there are times where it makes the game LESS enjoyable. I try to DIY anything that will earn experience, however I patently refuse to do things that either earn NO exp or earn very, very low rates of experience. For example, while I get my coal from Miscellania and would mine my own mithril/addy/rune, I would NOT mine the tin and copper needed to make bronze and smelt / smith (if needed for a quest, for example). Additionally, I'd never pick flax, mine all of my essence (aside from what I get from the wizard in ardougne, or during my shattered hearts chase). I enjoy DIY for the overall game experience, but there is a tipping point where it stops being noble and enjoyable and skews into "massive time waste and glaring inefficiency". Hopefully everyone is somewhere between 100% DIY and complete powerleveling; I can't imagine the game is too much fun without a little bit of balance in there.
  10. Give or take about 60,000 points right now. Enough to buy the antipoison totem, or a very nice chunk in the path to those chaotics.
  11. My entire Runescape existence has consisted of three basic elements for the last two months: Shattered Hearts, Dungeoneering, and Miscellania maintenance. After farming my free tree seeds and collecting those blasted little rocks, that leaves me with one true time consuming pursuit: Dungeoneering. It's a strange addiction. I have all the items I need for quite some time (pro spear P++, pro platebody, 125 pro arrows), and have opened all the floors. I've also (I think) gotten every journal entry. Aside from the rewards, the only reason to keep crushing are the rewards (which I've yet to prioritize) and my desire to push all of my skills up to at least level 90. I'm interested in hearing people's thoughts on how to spend reward points. I'm considering buying the antipoison totem to use for Pyramid Plundering up to 99 thieving, but think instead it may be wise to spend my points on Augury and Rapid Renewal, which could come in handy in the dungeon. Still another part of me thinks it wise to wait and see how expensive the different "roles" are within the dungeon, as referenced in either behind the scenes or sneak peek or whatever. What does consensus say about the best use of points? A chaotic weapon? Shield? Prayers? Wait and see?
  12. It's unlikely that 42M is buying you soul split or turmoil, although they'd be nice. Additionally, from 70-95 Herb is EXTREMELY expensive for overloads; probably closer to 100M depending on method. Good barrows armor is all you need to slay effectively and make a lot of money. While it isn't that popular, I also ADORE my SGS for slaying, although that seems out of your price range. Whip + rune defender work quite nicely too.
  13. Coal bag and gem bag are both nice AND super cheap. I think the gem bag must also be great for lots of annoying quests where you need to use gems on stuff. Bonecrusher is nice; good if you're planning to do some extensive slaying at monsters like Fire Giants or Trolls. Arcane Stream Necklace is loved by most. Tome of life is really nice. I think I'd also like the prayers (Augury looks great!), but they seem very expensive.
  14. I thought a few times about shifting to the tyrannoleather body, it's not a terrible idea. After all, the bosses are more often than not maged based in these dungeons, so I don't necessarily buy the "2:1" combat triangle argument. That said, getting TO the boss is a hell of a lot tougher without the pro plate. That plate is incredible against range and melee, and you consume a lot less food, looking only to protect against maged based monsters. Since most other players wear plate armor as well, mages are generally the first targets to get swarmed anyway, minimizing the effect that they can have on players. Conversely, those level 80-90ish melee and range monsters will rarely hit on the pro plate, whereas they can get through Tyrannoleather pretty easily. Since you're probably praying against any monster that is 110+ anyway, I've always felt it best to gear up against the swarm of melee/range monsters in the dungeon, and then hope I can squeak by the boss than vice versa. Additionally, by the end of the level you've accumulated enough cash to by at least Dromo/Spino full set, so that option remains in place.
  15. I keep hearing the voice of the the drill sergeant from "Stripes". "Settle down... Francis." The Times is very much informal and open to some format of creative flow. Formality is often boring, and there is certainly no singular format which would govern the general article. There is no desire to limit the reader's experience to scientific journal formatting.
  16. I think the people who are good at Dungeoneering must just be HUGE loudmouths. Based on the community feedback, I definitely felt like I was -way- behind on Dungeoneering. Upon checking hiscores, however, I found that it is now my highest ranked skill. Interesting, since I have no skills under 85 aside from Dungeoneering (66), and very few under 90.
  17. Well, all told it took about 3 weeks. 3 weeks for me to sink very deep into the dungeons of Daemonheim. 3 weeks to see about all it has to show me. 3 weeks to realize that sadly there is no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. I guess a part of me was hoping there would be something fantastic, something magnificent offered for reaching the bottom floor of the dungeon. Yes, I understand how insane this sounds. No, I have not been drinking. I've already gotten the best non-rare armor (pro plate). I've acquired the best non-rare weapon (pro spear p++, arguably the best weapon period). What is left? Perhaps I can be driven by raw levels; I'm closing in fast on 2300 which would be a nice, round total. I still have a couple floors left to clear, maybe I can trick myself into thinking you're given some reward for clearing floor 35. Perhaps I can hope for some of the better rewards the dungeon has to offer; I've already pulled in the bonecrusher, and have my sights set on things like the tome of life, the gem bag, coal bag, etc. Maybe I just need a better excuse to keep chasing levels that offer no benefit aside from total level?
  18. Is coping with dungeoneering medocrity.

    1. Sunli

      Sunli

Hai Mr.Stormy! I noticed i didnt have you added as a friend her on TIF - we cant have that!

      *hugs* :)

  19. Outsanity, I'd like to offer a datapoint that adds to the argument that you unfortunately had lousy luck. In my last ring of Shattered Hearts Master Farmer mugging, I came away with three ranarr seeds in about fifteen minutes. Bad news is it looks like you really got some awful luck, good news is I believe there are still good seeds to be won.
  20. Not necessarily. There is no specific format, and many articles are written in a first person, journalistic style.
  21. It's still very early to tell, but it seems useful. There are several times when prayer experience is wasted, and could be taken in with some good bonecrushing. I think to how many thousand bones and big bones were wasted slaying; if those were all "crushed" I'd probably have a few extra pray levels. When you think of how inordinately expensive prayer exp is, that makes it worthwhile to me. If you don't plan on dungeoneering, or want to be prayer free, then perhaps it isn't worth it.
  22. It's all pure speculation, but guessing is fun. I think he's similar to the JACOB character from the TV show "Lost". He's got questionable morality and does things way outside of what we expect is his right to affect, but in reality is acting in the best interest of the world. He is containing a great evil with his intricate devices, and to override the damage done with his death, our character is going to have to do the work he would have done. Pure guesses, admittedly, but we have little to no information at our disposal.
  23. I'd say that the spear is MUCH better since the attack styles are exaggerated. As Sir Izenhyme stated, you really see a massive difference when you use the correct attack style. This really plays a role when battling armored characters: they tend to be weak to stab, and it's hard to do much of anything to them with a battle ax.
  24. I agree with the above for the most part. No evidence to support this, and doesn't make sense logically. If buying from the smuggler, mining, or runecrafting don't hurt you, this certainly shouldn't either.
