Slayer...
The Sara Godsword is just as good if not bette than the Whip/DFS combo, plus it gives a big prayer advantage and will save you inventory slots.

Tip.it Times 25 October 2009
As a note to the public, the quality of these articles and their relevance should be credited with some bonus points because -I- screwed up BIG TIME and didn't get my article in on time. I thought I was due next week, which completely put the rest of the staff in a terrible spot and left them to work around it. ...and not a beat was missed! The articles read great, and I enjoyed all of them quite a bit.

Summona vs duradel
If you prefer melee, go with Duradel. With tasks like Dark Beasts, Abyssal Demons, Aberrant Spectres, etc., you'll find melee your best friend. If you want to work range, go with Sumona. Blue dragons, cave horrors, bloodveld, and many other tasks are all best handled with range. Personally, I use Duradel, but mix it up with Sumona when I get sick of lousy hellhound and aquanite tasks.

Skill Cape or Fire Cape? *Urgent Reply Please*
Skill cape is way, way easier to get, assuming you play frequently. The complete elimination of risk (you're only losing a little money, not time) makes taking the skill cape with me slaying much easier. Add on, I think it looks nicer, and does help out for tasks that require pray.

Iron Drags
Additional option: if you've unlocked the Void Mace, Claws of Guthix works really well on irons as every shot lowers the Dragon's defense a little more. Add on clay hats from Stealing Creation, and you can get some -really- serious mage experience there pretty quickly. Some claim it's faster than even melee.

Stealing Creations
Are you going to use "normal" SC or one of the fast SC places? There's a huge difference; you're looking at 3 tools in "normal", 5 in fast. Also, save up your points and only take out as many tools as you need. Previous poster is right in that they do not stack, but since your points stay after you leave, you can always come back to quickly cash in points for a few tools at a time.

Slayer Monster Question
You are unfortunately incorrect. It is illogical that Black Dragons drop them but Bronze Drags don't, however that is the way it is. I thought they DID drop visages, just far less than Iron drags? lol
-
Slayer Monster Question
I block them. They are expensive to kill due to prayer pots, don't drop the draconic visage, and are a pain to get to. Yuck.

Mage
Use fast SC to get lots of mage hats, and your cost for Magic training is cut in half. Additionally, since each fast SC game is about 12 minutes and the hat doubles EXP rate for about 30 minutes, you're clearly saving a lot of time in the process. Why get 50k/hour when you can get 100k for half the cash? I also recommend slaying; as the points can be used to buy slay darts, which happen to be really effective against metals.

Is adze worth it?
I got 92 firemaking on maples for the Adze, and I'm glad I did. It's a lot of fun, the sound of cutting with it is better, you get free FM experience cutting wood, and your exp is slightly faster because you bank less. Additionally, it does work on multiple slots in the abyss, which is nice I guess (not sure how much time it saves). A nice, fun, cool looking item. Go get it!

Within the Light - 13 October 2009
Quest was fun, but not well written. I enjoyed it okay, but wasn't overly impressed with it. Seemed like a fairly rushed out Elven update to fill in the update quota. The puzzles were hard (good) but not creative.

So much Armour! So many choices.
I like gorgoroth's idea, but if you can save the cash, save for a sara godsword. I have one and it is the best thing in the world for slayer.

Will Dragon Pickaxe go down down??
It is dropped by very easy to kill monsters. It's relative value will certainly go down over time. Its apparent price, however, may not change much as 76kers continue to ruin the RS economy with massive inflation.

Most useful item in Runescape...
Nothing says you're a player like an orange boater. Accept no substitute.
-
Phoenix feathers
Slayer rings can tele you to Polyniveach direct. Then you can carpet to Nardah. Not sure if this is faster or not, but you can bank in Nardah to cut down overall transit.

Spiritual Mages.
False. Sara mages are not 1/750. No way no way no way. Nor are they three times slower than zammy. On an average task, sara mages yield 2 pair of boots.

Unjustified censorship!
It wasn't really walking around the censor. And while slurs can certainly still be uttered, the truly derogatory word or callous use of such words as derogatory is destroyed. This is beneficial, moreso than the incremental benefit of being able to say the word gay, homosexual, etc. in exacted lexicon.
-
Unjustified censorship!
For the most part, dead on here. I do disagree that there is some legitimate conversation to be had using these words. While I obviously don't solicit RW information from people, the folks you talk to on a day to day basis will invariably over time know more about you, and vice versa. This includes sexual orientation; I know several RS players who are openly gay and have told me as such. That's right, they've communicated that they are gay within the game. It doesn't take much imagination to work around the censors. This is exactly why the censor should stay; it is easy to remove the inflammatory and immature hatespeek without restricting freedom of orientation.

Dragon Pick
Long term I'd expect them to be 3M at absolute max. While they're a very rare drop, you can get them from killing really, really weak creatures. It's a good place for camping and collecting cannon shot, exp, etc.

"Over-Hyped" Quests
WGS is easier without a guide than MEP2 without a guide; if you're using guides then WGS is a little tougher (a lot less annoying). WGS is also brilliantly written and fun as hell. Enjoy actually -doing- the quest; it's full of great cut scenes and big surprised.

KBD solo
It's been said before, but it's important to note: This guy can be a real pig. Kill to kill his damage varies WILDLY, and he hits with multiple attack styles. Don't forget to poison him. Each battle is pretty long, and it really helps.
-
Bork Hunting
I also suggest pray melee and wearing dragonhide. I also use a super attack/str sip before battle, and pray piety. I don't like messing around. The prayer pot will be fine, but Fally Shield 3 works every day for free...

~!~Where To Find These~!~
Miscellania.

Buyable 99s.
Maples are much, much more efficient for firemaking. Just use them all the way up. Cooking is a blend; judge for yourself what you'd like to use to move up; consider the buy vs. sell price for cooked/uncooked and what margin is acceptable. Herblore is expensive unless you use really garbage items. One way to level for free is to use Miscellania and create potions like Serum 107 with Tarromin/Ash. Downside: this will take forever. Farming is a balance: you can offset losses from trees with profits of herb farming. Toadflax is best until your level is higher, and then use higher yield to get snaps, ranarr, etc. to offset losses. Smithing is cheaper than ever, particularly if you use Stealing Creation Hammers. This cuts the cost clean in half, and you can divide the margin by making things like mith bolts, adamant arrowtips, etc.

Broad Bolts vs. Slayer rings?
Get the bolts first if you have any interest in ranging. Slayer rings are outstanding, and just can't be beat for new tasks or checking on old task, but you can workaround easily with lunar magic. If not, just use the bolts to make money, or personally accumulate them because they are outstanding and cheap. If you have no interest in range AND have tons of cash, go for the rings.
