Unobtainable Quest Rewards-A Cosmetic Truth
I think for any items that offer a functional advantage, you should be able to reattain. For purely cosmetic stuff, I'm less sympathetic.

A little Suprise...
I both love leveling skills and find them to come few and far between. Sometimes they sneak up, but I'm usually ready for them. It happened a lot when they were in the lower levels.

Nerfing the 26k trick.
Depends on perspective. While drops become more valuable, there is VERY real danger of inflation. Mass influx of coins to the economy drives down the value of the RS dollar, so no matter -how- you make money, that money won't buy as much. The big difference is that now while slayer is no longer dying, all skills are at least somewhat deteriorated. Jagex could cut the EP rate tenfold and STILL have people 26king. Is there a possibly more sure sign it needs to be nerfed?

16th June 2009 Bounty Worlds and Gravestones
As a slayer more than a PKer, I love the removal of monster drops from the tables. That's a lot more fair than the old system. The inflation we'll likely see does not come without its own problems. As someone that also has huge cash reserves relative to the rest of my wealth, I need to find -something- to vest my cash into in order to protect my relative ability to purchase goods. What do you think will rise first? Coal? Yews? Essence? Slayer drops? Some combination of all of these will have to become my new diversified portfolio; perhaps 2/3 of my cash into items to protect against inflation.

Summer Goals and Whatnot
I'd like to get 99 atk, str, and def on the same hit over the summer. Got a looong way to go. On that road, I should reach 97 slayer. Should hit that before the max in melees. After that, I'll continue to quest towards 99 slayer, but it's a slow road without cannon, soul wars, or other cheap sources of exp.

Compare and Contrast
A question on scale: Should you answer things based on how you rate relative to your average Runescape player, average person in your demographic (age/sex), or average human (any age, any person). Your assessment of your personal combat skills is extremely relative. If you have this scale: 1 - Infant 50 - Competent Human, prime of life, never fights 70 - Strong / tough human 80 - Trained boxer 99 - Floyd Mayweather Jr your scale varies more than: 1 - Adult guy who would get picked on 50 - Adult guy who would win 1/2 fights he gets in 70 - Trained boxer 80 - Local champion boxer/wrestler/MMA fighter 90 - Professional fighter 99 - Legendary / world champion

Underrated Items
You're referring to F2P solely, correct? For me: Fally Shield 3 - best prayer bonus in game, and essentially a free 3-dose prayer pot every day. I always bring these on prayer-driven slayer tasks, even if I'm using a GS. Stealing Creation items - not much of a secret anymore, it still blows my mind when i see people smithing with normal hammers. Slayer Rings - easy teleports to a ton of places, super cheap to make, and you get to check on task status. I don't typically -wear- these, but I always have them at the ready.

Runescape On Consoles *proof*
I think that jagex would like to use the "Runescape" brand to launch console games, and that would be fine. I'm sure there's a way to incorporate a fine RPG (MMORPG possible as well) into the game, but I don't know how they could make the game cooperative with the browser-based game; in reality they likely wouldn't. A console game would likely be heavily reliant on headset and TS style speaking to communicate; I don't think the typing features on Wii or 360/PS3 are close to fast enough to keep up. Perhaps they'd use an elaborate quickchat? I view these potential games as supplemental, not replacement. It would be a nice revenue stream. My only hope is that should there be crossover, they not allow items earned on consoles exclusively to be translated to browser versions (which would basically just hose us out of the additional cash to secure the console version if we wanted to keep up with the most effective gear). It would be a very tough move, but also a potential MONSTER of a revenue stream for Jagex.

2nd June 2009 - Hunt for the Red Raktuber + Patch Notes
I think I like the direction of these quests. Jagex has been issuing lots of new quests that do very, very little to progress the game play in terms of making it easier, but rather added well written, fun-to-do quests that are pure enjoyment and not much change to the game. Kind of a nice strategy. Allows for a build up on whatever the "next" big items will be, while allowing people to continue to profit on existing "top" items before they are inevitably replaced/made obsolete. (stuff like Dragon Boots, whips, Barrows gear, etc).

Oh my? Sailing with submarines?
How the hell does one catch a good draft of wind in a submarine? Set up the main sail on the SS Fail. Definitely cold war 2. I hope this boosts penguin points a bit, or adds the amount of penguins available.

Scenario: Bring a familiar into Fight Caves
This wouldn't be as large a change as would be expected. As described, the true danger is in prayer switch; no amount of inventoried items will help you click more accurately and quickly.

Unicorn horns
So far it seems the black unicorns just east of black knight castle are the fastest. Not fast, but faster than alternative.
-
Profitable 99?
Slayer. Not always AFK, but very, very fun. Hunter is the anti-AFK. Constant, constant clicking and attention.
-
Respectable 99?
Start with the quest cape. Work to get all of your skills up a bit; you'll figure out what you like best.

Unicorn horns
Hi, thanks for opening! Just got 88 summon, and I'm morally opposed to paying 900 each for unicorn horns. I'm currently killing unicorns in the Ardounge pen, but there's only two here; even on world 2 it's slower than hell. I know of a few other spots; Varrock near the east mine, west of the herb patch in Camelot, north of the gold apple tree in Fremmenik, and somewhere in 12-14 wildy. Has anyone figured out which place is the fastest?

YOU vs. Mediocrity
I'm definitely older than Joe. By a lot.

farming record?
You get the tipit forums BS award, congradulations! =D> 19 is my high. You realy can't say he is lying because it is possible though very very unlikely it is still possible to get extremely lucky. This has been beaten to death on pages 2-4. It was hilarious to watch Paw try to walk his way out of the lie, but it is in fact a statistical impossibility that one could average 15-18 over that many runs. Having done several hundred seed runs of my own, my all time high is 13. If we were to say that I was "very, very unlucky" and the chance of getting more than 13 herbs is one in fifty, then we can figure this out. Since to average 15-18 would require every herb to be in that 13-22 range, and he said he did herb runs once every 3 days, then we have 28 seeds planted. To get a yield higher than 13 given a 1/50 chance of yielding this, and then doign it 28 times in a row would require a .02^28 roll. The outcome is 2.68 X10-48, or that there is a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000268 percent chance of accomplishing this. Think about those odds like this. If you had one toothpick in a pile for every person in the world (6 billion), and got one pick, you would have to pick the correct toothpick FIVE TIMES IN A ROW before the event became less unlikely than catching a 1/50 draw 28 times in a row. As an edit, I increased the odds to 1/10 of getting a better yield than 13 to counter the argument that I'm simply historically unlucky. To get 28 yields of such value in a row, you're looking at: 0.000000000000000000000000001 percent odds now. Better, but still would need to pick that toothpick 4 times in a row!

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Forget about balancing the different GWD rooms; does GWD REALLY need another reason to bring people in? Was it beginning to look barren and in need of an adrenaline shot?

How is a typical high lvl supposed to be like?
In order to become a high level player, you need a lot of patience. Patience is generally associated with wisdom, although it can be substituted with boredom. Because of this, you get people from all walks at the higher ranks. At the end of the day, if someone is being that childish, they're simply an ignore list away.

Is 99 fishing an accomplishment.
Certainly is an accomplishment! While it may not rank up there with runecrafting or mining, 99 fishing is a fantastic achievement. You need to spend a -lot- of time fishing, and for most the temptation to leave and do other stuff (whatever that may be) is simply too strong.

Tip.It Times: 12 April 2009
It's pretty clear who the P2P trickers are here; flocking to the defense of a system that is at worst unfair, and at best unbalanced. The game has survived for a long time on the balance that the game revolves around. Whether you went with the safe route of runecrafting/fishing, or the higher-risk boss hunting, money is valuable because it is really tough to come by. If a method of making money becomes as fast as the tricking can be, it destroys the delicate balance of the game. Trickers don't want to listen to this because they are profiting right now, but keeping the system as is would be a foolish decision. In the long run, tricking would become the -only- moneymaking scheme, because it doesn't rely on support skills (like herblore) and isn't locked into alchemy pricing (like fletching, woodcutting, mining and smithing, etc.).

Champion's Challenge (Minigame)
The rewards clearly don't match up well with the rarity of challenges. I'd love to see a reward that is monster-related. Like if you kill the demon champion, you get a 5%+ permanent atk/str bonus against demons. Even a 1-2% jump would both make sense and be a really nice add-on.

Aberrant spectres
I absolutely refuse to pray for spectres. Super set, kharils/black d hide, slayer helm, fury, d boots, dfs/mind shield/defender, whip, skill cape. Bring two bunyips and the rest food. Toggle pray when you get behind on HP, because they hit a little harder than bunyips can cover. They're also super close to POH, and easy access. It's a better idea to eat against them and tele; that way you may need a few trips, but you'll bank more valuable herbs, and save tons on prayer pots.
