Should I, A) Stay Pure B) Get Defense?
Get defense. You'll be able to do whatever you want. Why be a low-level without the old wildy rules held in place? What benefit does it give you?

Omni-Protection Prayer?
That would sure do a number on dragon claw prices... Sorry, I don't see it happening.

RuneScape Economics Survey
I could not complete the survey. After about 15 minutes of filling out forms, on page 4/7 I was given an illogical "please enter a positive number" prompt around the question asking you to list what your top the economic activities are in RS. A numerical input there doesn't make sense. What's wrong here?

Since Pray X, Firemake X?
Great question; could really go either way. I think it will take a little while, but I think it will come out. The game will continue to get easier by it's nature. They need new content, and if new content isn't more effective, it's worthless. This wouldn't necessarily be "new content", but rather trending towards risk aversion. I can't see Jagex getting sued by someone getting CTS, but apparently they can, as their actions indicate.

Weekly Poll: What 99?
Nothing makes my soul bleed like mining. Runecrafting is insanely slow, but still makes a nice chunk of change. With ZMI at the higher levels you're making plenty of bloods, nats, cosmics, and souls to recoup your losses. The fastest way to level mining is to make absolutely no money. It is also super click-intensive and a constant-focus skill. Farming and slayer require much, much less focus.

I hope this is an early April Fool's joke.

So how's the new CEO doing so far?
Don't twist my words. I said that they have to keep him entertained as a member, not that they should tailor their entire corporate philosophy around each member. Also, he is one voice, but not the only person with that thought. They should consider feedback, and take the response of their customers seriously. There is no such platform in place. Jagex policy, update strategy, and content plans are unilaterally decided by Jagex, barring some sort of judicial intervention. They decide to take players feedback if they so choose to, and decide if this implementation will make a better game. The punishment for not adhering to the desires of players manifests in a risk in dropoff of memberships / revenue. Very few decisions are so brazen that they shift the tide on themselves, but trends in their decisions steer players to or from the game. Again, either your misunderstanding of my comments or your failure to understand the logistics of capitalism create the disconnect. There is no -legal- bound, but Jagex should be aware that their decisions have repercussions, and that not everyone is satisfied.

Rest: Predictions (New pics added)
How would resting be involved in any skill? 99 Procrastination. I'd be a king amongst men at that skill.

What if you -COULD- use P2P Stuff in F2P worlds?
It has been reported that recently a bug was released with the new prayer update. Players who earned access to the Piety Prayer in P2P could activate Piety through quick-prayer access and use it to obliterate F2P players. This is assuredly a bug, and I'm sure people caught abusing it will be dealt with, perhaps harshly. One offhanded comment in that thread caught my eye. This poses an interesting question: Would that be a bad thing? It would certainly upset a lot of people, but ultimately an update such as that could be -very- useful to Jagex's capability to make money. If P2P Players could bring with and use their weapons, armor, and potions from members worlds to fight F2P players, there would be a MASSIVE shakeup. I can see one of two things happening: I don't know one way or the other which case would take hold here, but both are at least somewhat feasible. What do you think?

Pray-X....GF Prayer Cape
Why would a rational, healthy person play Runescape? ;) Seriously, I think this update is good. Anything that means less clicks is all good with me!

So how's the new CEO doing so far?
While I disagree, this is a sound, logical argument, and if that's your opinion you're certainly welcome to it. Fair enough. What's not fair is that awful "Jagex isn't here to please you" argument. If he's a paying member, then yes they most certainly ARE supposed to keep him entertained. Just because his thoughts may be critical doesn't make them wrong, nor does disagreeing with you make him incorrect.

So how's the new CEO doing so far?
I'm not giving him this rousing round of applause. Calling it a "Year of Updates" doesn't mean we should be satisfied with a year off from new content. That's about what we've seen. The recent quest was nice and well done, but very small in the grand scheme of importance and impact on the game. There have been MANY nice new additions; interface changes and tweaks. It definitely seems like the new person in charge is more of a player than a manager, as player-friendly tweaks suggest. The removal of BTS has also removed any accountability Jagex has had to work within giving deadlines. The result is a clear lack of new content; not good for anyone. To say that Iddison wanted publicity next to MMG is ABSOLUTELY INSANE. In order to find out what was going on, MMG had his own chats where you had to add him, follow him, and listen ad nauseum until he chimed in. Moreover, he puts his name on EVERYTHING new. He's like the Wizard of Oz; completely enamored with the mystique of the job and its associated power.

The Chronicles of Dagon'Hai - Runescape Movie -
I would like to come along! I lost some Dagon'hai pieces after WGS because the Balance Elemental dropped the hammer on me, but since I can do either I'll bring both, and then hop to whichever side is less populated.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I think a lot of players will reflux now that the prices are displaying more accurately. When Jagex was locking prices, the street value price creation allowed for a newly integrated "Free Enterprise" that allows for price manipulation via junk trading. With a relaxed reduction on price flux, prices of any non-new items will be the same as street price (or at least should get there). That's a huge development, and there's far less speculation involved in pricing. Given that there is less speculation, there's less money to be had. Clans will stick to new-item hoarding to drive price manipulation. That, or the opposite; clans could hold up and let prices go completely insanely out of control as they sit on items. It will be interesting to watch the market control/response habits of Jagex and merchants.

Seers' Journal: 1st Edition - Formerly the Gielinor Tribune
Lists like this are nothing more than shameless discussion-drivers. There is no right, no wrong, and they always drive people to argue and generate some buzz. And this one was particularly interesting and well done. Great job guys.

Mod MMG's Ingame Behind the Scenes
I deplore this format of releasing info. Seems like nothing more than a way to self-promote and turn himself into -more- of a celebrity than the J Mod crown would start him off as. Instead of reading updates posted on the site, we're supposed to follow this guy around and wait for him to leak bits? Frankly, that sucks. Get over yourself and just share info through standard, open channels, like the Runescape front page, RSOF, or Tip It, if we're collaborative now.

The Girl With a Tiara Who Likes to Mine Alot...
Absolutely amazing. 99 Mining is the hardest 99 in the game. I know runecrafting can be terrible, but there are ways to power around that. Mining, not so much. Legit 99s like this (as opposed to bots) just blow me away. Great job!

1000 Soul wars zeal
Very well done. There are some who did their work differently and only see through those eyes. They will always criticize. Good job.

85+ All Skills
Gonna go back to slaying for a bit. Ultimately I'll get 99 Slay / Melees, but also 99 HP soon, 99 Farm, and some day 90+ in everything.

85+ All Skills
My first ever "Rate This" thread; this one took a loooong time. =)

61-65 Herblore... fastest/cheapest?
1. MTK is a great source of herbs when you set it to provide. 2. Killing cave crawlers or other low-level summon tasks tend to provide a surprising amount of herbs. 3. Farm toadflax, and trade those herbs for some more profitable herbs. For higher level herblorists, toadflax are king, but for low levels you are better served with irits and avantoe.

Easyish 99s?
Do slayer, because you enjoy it. I have done the same and am halfway to 99 without trying to level it. Along the way, at some point I'll also get 99 HP, ATK, STR, and DEF, to go with 99 range that Slayer already delivered. Great, great skill, even if you're not shooting for 99.

The NERFED Bandos Agility Course
More importantly, agility courses that aren't better than Ape Atoll / Dorgesh mines are USELESS unless they're accessible and useful before level 65 or so. How did Jagex not learn from the COMPLETELY ABANDONED NEVER USED PENGUIN COURSE? Has anyone ever seen a soul there? How about at the Werewolf course? Wildy is worse than it was back in PKing times, as Revenants are much more annoying. Agility is in dire shape; it's been down since summoning came out and really needs a booster shot.

Quest 150
Agreed. The lack of underground mapping makes this particularly annoying. Several times in the quest I got stuck not because I couldn't solve a riddle or kill something, but rather I couldn't find something in the massive, annoying city of Dorgesh-Kahn. At the boss fight, I was trying to do the right thing through the normal operating process (saving spoilers), but the quests unilateral interface made this impossible. That sucked and it almost cost me my gear. The quest was really well written, but the "fetch" style of all the subquests (go get this, talk to this guy, talk to that guy, ask him this) just served to make the quest longer and aggravating. I would have prefered to have your character liaison more with the "top" world, and that would have made more sense. A nice quest, but not a fitting 150, unless the rewards for that agility course are incredible. Having weaponry that displaces valuable in game items is not necessarily a good thing. A great day overall when you factor in the in-game updates, but this quest gets a mixed grade from me. Story: A Puzzles: C Length: C Challenge: B Fun: C Rewards: C+ (subject to change) Overall: B. Wouldn't be disappointed except for all the delay in other rollouts and outrageous buildup over this one.

Tip.It Times: 15 Mar 2009
I think this is a very fair, very reasonable expectation for a community. However, without hijacking too much, many, many Tip It members are not so simply bound. A very significant minority thirsts for something to complain about, attacking any content created by someone other than them. Perfect example here: I understand if the experimental procedure doesn't appeal to all, but don't BS me and say it's a "poorly written" article. It's not. It's very well written. There are too many people here lusting for someone to attack. If you're such a prodigal writer that you're Hemingway next to our staff, by all means create some content FOR the board and contribute.
