  1. 1. Get Bones To Peaches Spell. 2. Go kill dagonnoths. 3. Pick up noted seaweed, and all herb seeds. 4. Sell, and thank me since herb seed prices are obnoxious right now.
  2. They regrow fairly quickly, and you can rack up several hundred in a couple months with -very- little effort.
  3. Daily battlestave making air staves is great experience, but the catch-22 is that you need reasonably high crafting to do it. Try quests like "Ghost Ahoy" that have prayer bonuses for prayer, and be sure to get your penguins in every week - 30k experience to any skill is nothing to sneeze at!
  4. I think that's a very nicely written guide, but there are faster methods. All the best ways to catapult forward with more money involve doing stuff that won't bring in super fast experience. [*:1dc3y4ji]You can mine pure essence, which is great.[*:1dc3y4ji]You can woodcut, although it will take a while to cut the really good earners like yews or magics.[*:1dc3y4ji]You can fish, and it's easy to get to the level to crank in lobsters[*:1dc3y4ji]You can fight in Edgeville Dungeon, and fight the Hill Giants. Bank all your Big Bones and Limpwurt Roots to sell![*:1dc3y4ji]You can collect seconds, like red spiders eggs and unicorn horns[*:1dc3y4ji]You can kill cows and bank their hides. Just about any of these are slow earners, but will give you a little kickstart to get going. Don't worry about racing up your levels early; after you save some cash you can buy equipment that will help that experience really rocket.
  5. There may be some workaround, but in my experience they switch between all three types. It creates quite a challenge, trying to alternate prayers, attack styles, and consume sara brews or sharks and restore potions.
  6. First, if you're going to argue on the basis of the economy and set prices, it kills your credibility when your most recent data points are 5 years old. Second, I -just said- two posts ago that I agree the release price was a bit too high, but that if the same item were released in a timely fashion, then the 30M price tag would be fine. Remember, the D Chain, an item which is unquestionably inferior in all methods aside from perhaps aesthetics (which is subjective) was priced at 20 Million, and the erosion from that price was slow and gradual, implying the price was deemed "fair" by the market.
  7. Call me Sir Edmund, because for once I was smart/lucky enough to get out while the getting was good. Sold my piece for nearly 12M; and I'm -always- the one left holding the bag on this sort of thing. As for the sceptres... could you use them as bedposts in your POH? ;)
  8. I did get a kick out of the kid telling me how out of touch I was and then claiming the Dragon Medium Helm is still 2M. For those of you keeping score at home, street price is currently 61,000 GP. Tough crowd! In some regards, I'm a little guilty here, but bear in mind that I wrote the article Tuesday and they don't publish until Sunday. I also thought that since this was such a pivotal update, it was worth discussing; many people complain if the "Times" aren't topical enough. It's simply not possible to guarantee being both very topical (updates are only relevant for a few days) and "first on the scene" with that type of lead time. Merchanters have certainly played a role, as they always have (and perhaps always should). In an article that is supposed to be roughly 600 words, I didn't want to start to explore that avenue; it would have really sidetracked my overarching point about the impact of releasing the plate much too late. Many have said that the starting price of 30 Million was simply too high. Personally I agree, although were there no such thing as the Bandos Chestplate, 30M would probably be fine. This is sort of the basis of my claim that the update would have been wonderful - three years ago.
  9. OK, it's on now! False. When they came out, Dragon Legs, Medium Helm, and Scimitar were the best items available for their respective slot. Actually, extreme rarity would be an -incentive- for the price to go up. Since 92 Smithing can now be assisted, that has become a non-factor relative to timing. Wealth is also relative. Whatever the starting price was to begin with, the rarity would increase the prestige effect of the item, as compared to other more prestigious items currently available (3rd Age Armor, Bandos Armor, etc.). The value of these items slowly erodes as they become more prevalent in the game, but it is a slow, gradual decline in price. The D Plate has completely fallen off the table.
  10. It's really hard to say, as there was no need for a new skill when Summoning hit. In hindsight, I -love- summoning, and after new tweaks it developed into a great skill. I don't see a need for a new skill, nor have I seen any hints of a new skill coming out. Realistically, how many more could they need? If you can't summarize the content into 24 skills, you're really not trying very hard. I can't think of too many new things that they could offer that couldn't be added into some combination of existing skills.
  11. If quest cape gave the same stats as trimmed capes, I think everyone who had one would wear it. It shows you're up to date in the game, you know the history behind the game, and that you're playing. An unfortunate side effect of macroers is that the simple click/go skills like fishing/woodcutting/mining are not trusted as much. The mining cape may be the most tedious cape in the game to acquire, but it could also be the easiest; unfortunately it's hard to give someone you don't know the benefit of the doubt. When someone wears the Quest Cape, there is no doubt they earned it.
  12. Blast furnace, blast furnace world. Someone will either -be- 99, or know one.
  13. Nice find. Welcome to the board! After the Holy Grail quest, I'm leaning towards them being involved in the greater good, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Temple Knights had some blood on their hands.
  14. I'm on n_odie's coattails. RS Name: Stormveritas (P2P) Thanks!
  15. Well, I just finished getting 92 FM for the Inferno Adze. The FM Cape is easy in theory, but in practice is actually quite a challenge. EXP is fast, but clicking is extremely repetitive, tedious, boring. I find Piscatoris to be far and away the best place to go. Many huge, long straight paths for firemakers.
  16. Yeah same here! I use my explorer ring the most (it's my fav of the 3). Karamja gloves are handy i use em once in a while - and varrock armour looks cool and makes smithing a *little* more exciting :D Don't forget the free 100k/day that comes from the Extra Battlestaves with Varrock Achievement 3.
  17. Construction is extremely expensive but amazingly useful. Even if you aren't going for a 99, it's great to get your own altar, teleport rooms, armor repair stand, wardrobes, etc.
  18. Miscellania. Have your workers do the hard work for you.
  19. I think the fortress in Tiranwynn has to play in here, somehow. While I agree that the Dragonkin fortress is in Northeast Wildy, perhaps some opposing force is locked in Tiranwynn. This massive, hidden Crystal Palace is clearly guarding some secrets closely held by the elves, a race which is completely secluded and inaccessible to most. Nowhere is there more abundant life, greener grass, or a more harmonious existence between flora and fauna. What could they be protecting in those castle walls, the furthest possible geographic distance from that NorthWest Wilderness? I think that Guthix Himself lies in the Crystal Palace, hidden furthest from the Dragonkin. Does anyone have any pictures from outside their palace?
  20. If you search your bank unsuccessfully, AND it's still missing on your list, report a bug on the main page.
  21. Go to the Warriors Guild with a spare set of rune. Fight the rune armor in the southern room to get tokens; use the tokens to fight Cyclopses. Cyclopses drop defenders. After you get each Defender (Bronze, Iron, Steel, Black, Mithril, Adamant), leave the room and talk to the attendant. You can then go for the next level. Also, get like 5 defenders. They're a pain and you won't want to go back.
  22. It's also well worth the effort to both stick to irons (there are more of them, they die more easily, and drop the same stuff) and get yourself proselyte armor. Proselyte is really terrific.
  23. Flax is a nice bet. Seconds are really good, too. Try harvesting kyatt hides (6k each) or getting toads legs, whiteberries, limpwurts, etc.
  24. Probably between 18.5 and 20. People who bought them are not stupid; they know that if they try to buy closer to Christmas they expect to get creamed.
  25. Red Salamanders until 75 or so. Black are a nuisance with revenants constantly harassing you. Chins after that.
