  1. You call that low? *Duke looks at his 67 quest points Quests are boring "run here, run there, get this item, give to that NPC, get your reward"-tasks.
  2. Ok. *Duke buys 20mil essences *Duke runs to the nature altar *Duke dies to a random event on the road to the altar *Duke rebuys his 20mil essences *Duke runs to the nature altar again *Duke runecrafts the 20mil essences *Duke has now gained 51 or so runecrafting levels and is now number one rcer. Conclusion, effects of this: - Essence price = 500gp+ ea. - Autoers getting insanely rich from essence mining. Let's not, shall we? ;)
  3. More like 15 min or longer I believe.. Anyway, the tutorial is a good way to stop scammers / autoers making new characters too easily and quickly, so no, we don't need a "skip the tutorial" option.
  4. I'm sure that we already got too many of these rants in the rants board. Please post on one of those.. ~Locked
  5. The numbers don't make any sense :P.
  6. Money trees. Oh I better start to train my farming a bit more..
  7. Oops now everyone knows...
  8. Use blue dye on a white phat.
  9. Found a new kingdom called Freedom. I'd be the Duke of it.
  10. Means they'll drop a nice stash of gp too?
  11. Exactly. Printing money (high alching) leads to inflation though. The point is that only rares seem to be effected by that inflation the way it is now.
  12. If you want to work with the fbi you better start getting your facts straight: - They already were ~140mil before the ban. - They are ~165mil now, if the official forum boards are right - It's mostly caused by speculation Thanks.
  13. Next time, please ask your questions in the Help And Advice Board. ~Locked
  14. Give me one good reason why demand won't go up permanently when rares would not exist? People are stashing away billions of money, just to be able to buy them. If they didn't exist, surely those people would be using that money for other items? You basically agree with me in this paragraph though, as you are saying rares are a utility substitute for materials / pseudo-rares (which I agree with). However it logically follows from the definition of a substitute that removing it will increase the demand and thus the price of the other goods. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=328924 Although I'll have to redo calculations before I can come up with more backed-up numbers, I'm currently guessing the total amount of pure gp's to be around 800bil, increasing at a rate between 1.5bil - 2bil per day and estimating the total worth of the rares market somewhere around 500bil. No. The reason why rares are such a large part of the economy is because materials get used up and don't stay in the economy. Sure, there may be 2.3million natures produced every day; but just as many are used up by high alchers too.
  15. It's both illegal - I suggest you ask them again. ~Locked
  16. Please use the clan recruitment board kriegstilf mentioned. ~Locked

    sizzlorr1 got it right.. Exact answers are: A = -10 + 2/3 root(255) B = 5/2 + 1/6 root(255) C = -30 + 2 root(255) D = 5/4 + 1/12 root(255) A = -10 - 2/3 root(255) B = 5/2 - 1/6 root(255) C = -30 - 2 root(255) D = 5/4 - 1/12 root(255) Both are possible.
  18. Like I said in my first post on this thread.. I doubt the banning will have much effect, if any at all. The largest effect it could have is bringing up material prices back to the original prices, as I believe that material may have dropped a small 10 - 20% because of the large activity of autoing lately. Rares may [bleep]e up a little, mainly as a result of speculation, rather then any real facts, like adam007 already pointed out. The estimated size of the rares market compared to the estimated total gp in the economy is huge. But, you are right in a way that if I sold off all my rares and bought millions of coal of that money, that I could only cause a "temporary" rise in the price of coal as nothing changed in the way the economy works. However, if rares didn't exist, all the money that is being stored to buy rares would come back in circulation, back into the economy. As most people realise that gp deflates on the mid-long term, most people will also want to invest it in something new. Pseudo-rares will probably be the best choice in the time shortly after the disappearance of rares, as the panic will be huge and these items will most likely [bleep]e up giantically in price. In the longer run these items are not suitable as investement though. Pseudo-rares have the property of going down in price on the long-term, thus eventually they'll stop going up and start going down. On the other hand, material prices will most likely enter a continous cycle of going up in price. Initially slower then pseudo-rares probably, as material markets are the most stable markets in the game. In opposite to pseudo-rares I'd expect that they will keep going up in price though, maybe slowly, but steadily. This is misunderestimating the size of the rares market and the amount of "normal" players who own rares. Because rares existed. And rares have seen a huge [bleep]e in price at the time of the slayer-richness. Rares also ensured that, despite so many new insanely rich players, material prices remained pretty stable. Yes, dragon bones were temporarily higher as a result of the heavily increased demand. But the increased demand was temporary, nothing changed in the fundamental concept of the economy (rares weren't removed) thus it was expected that the drag bone prices would eventually drop back to their original prices.
  19. Perhaps we can see sharks go back to their steady 1K price, after they seemed to have dropped to a lower 800-900gp each. We really don't need to compensate for the prices going back to their normal level, if they are even going to change at all.
  20. 5 seconds is already way too spammy for repeating the same message. Check the time interval of autotyping spammers on world 1; it's around that interval.
  21. I know it can be annoying that pmods 'overpower' all public chat settings even when they aren't doing anything else then normal people are doing like in trading places promoting their items, in banks just talking with friends, etc. However I do think Jagex thought about it, but that they just don't want pmods to be able to temporary "remove" their crown as it will lead into more impersonation - and I have to agree with them on that.
  22. Wow.. Huge congratz to Jagex for another amazing january-massive-autoer-ban. :)
  23. Please read the Image FAQ sticky on the Media Discussion board on how to get a good image: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=100097 And we have another sticky in the Media Discussion board for you to test your sig here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=78
  24. Untradability of items which aren't limited-edition holiday items or quest items (those are untradable for a good reason) does the economy no good and is not necessary for anything if you ask me. Jagex has gone the wrong way since RuneScape 2 by making untradability more and more standard, creating a new hype where we see people here, on the rants board, posting "why is this tradable?", while the real rant should be "why are so many things untradable?".
