For all us cynics out there...
It's definitely different for everybody. I, for example, know exactly what things make me happy and have known for my whole life. It didn't take any searching or training because I discovered these things early on. But some people just haven't found their 'thing,' yet and are still searching for their passion(s).

Twilight.
Well, I haven't heard any reports calling the Twilight books works of the devil or demands that it be banned, so I wouldn't quite say that :P . Sorry, I meant purely from a quality of writing standpoint. None of that religious/devil works/magic is evil stuff. I haven't seen many people argue that that Harry Potter isn't a well-written, original series (devil/religious comments aside).

a different medium
Agreed. If you want to make it look like blood, you can't have any straight edges or sharp corners (you have quite a few). You need some drips too. I like the idea though.

Twilight.
Agreed. HP certainly wasn't just a fad. If it was a fad, then 12 years is quite a long fad. The only reason why it has died down a bit is because the book series has ended and everyone is waiting for the next movie to be released. Harry Potter pretty much started a new generation of fantasy literature on its own. While Twilight is obviously popular right now, it doesn't and probably never will have the same status as Harry Potter. Not to mention the fact that Twilight is clearly more widely criticized than Harry Potter ever was ;) * * EDIT: By saying this, I mean purely from a quality of writing stand point. I'm not factoring in those "Harry Potter is the work of the devil," religious arguments.

What type of things did you do to get suspended from school?
You can't just wing a final. Yeah you can, I did/do it all the time. I mean, unless every single question was an essay question and you have no clue about history at all. For someone's favorite subject I find it very hard to believe that you couldn't even take a stab at some questions. Agreed. I actually wing most of my finals. Even a 50% (which is still an F) is better than a 0%.

What type of things did you do to get suspended from school?
It seems extreme that you would get suspended for that.. I've never been suspended. The closest I've gotten was getting "benched" (forced to sit on the "BAD STUDENTS BENCH" for 20 minutes) in third grade because I forgot to bring my spelling workbook to class. And by the way, your US History final sounds a lot like my English one.. :? Except I actually attempted it ;)

For all us cynics out there...
Maybe you need to reunite with your inner child and rediscover the simple things in life and that the world is not doomed to chaos and disaster. On a more serious note... I actually haven't noticed that. Some of the happiest people I know are also the smartest. I also don't necessarily think that being cynical means you're unhappy. Maybe a fair chunk of cynical people are, but certainly not all of them. I'd say that there's something else fueling your unhappiness other than your cynical attitude.

I like the colours you used in the first one. The snowman looks a little disproportional (the head seems huge), but otherwise I like it. I think the "steampunk series" is great! I love the textures, lineart, shading, the whole thing. Nice job.

What is your 'thing'?
Pet peeve: people who fail at pen-spinning and end up shooting the pen out of their hand so it lands on theirs or other peoples' desks. And then of course they keep trying, hoping to improve, so you hear a "thunk" every 3 seconds as it hits the wood. *raises hand* I do!!

Twilight.
I guess we're talking about both the movie and the book here, so I'll touch on both. When I first heard about it, I thought it sounded like the dumbest book that ever existed. Love story.. vampires? Yeah right. I actually teased my sister for reading it. My sister wanted me to see the movie with her, so I did. I thought the previews looked lame and the whole running really fast thing was stupid. I saw the movie and I didn't think it was that great (which wasn't a surprise since books made into movies rarely are anything above mediocre), but I was mildly intrigued by the overall plot, so I gave the book series a try. I got through it in 4 days, and I actually liked it. Parts of it were annoying and not very well written, but I really liked a lot of the ideas. I thought that a big chunk of book one was unneeded and just "space fillers," the second book was pretty bad, and I really didn't like the idea of suddenly switching the perspectives in book four, but that's really the extent of my complaints. Sure it could have been a lot better, but I really don't think it's as terrible as everyone says it is. There are so many worse books out there (don't even get me started on "The Inheritance Cycle") that deserve the criticism that Twilight is getting instead.

Do you think you'll ever kill someone?
Anything other than self-defense.. no. I can't think of a reason for why I would need/want to.

Is Lying Okay?
There's not a straight "yes or no" answer to this question. There are too many factors that play in and each situation is different. I have lied in the past and don't regret it because it was the right thing to do at the time. Sometimes telling the truth has worse consequences than lying.. To use an example someone else used in this thread: if you call an over-weight person fat, it could lead to self esteem issues, anorexia, bulimia, depression, etc.

What is your 'thing'?
I wish I could read that fast, but sadly my mind wanders every 25-35 pages. What do you read? My mind does the same if it's not a book I'm interested in ;) I read anything that catches my interest.. and that tends to be mostly science fiction/fantasy books.

What is your 'thing'?
An obsessive reader.. or the girl who goes through a new 700-page book each day.

Who needs 8 hours of sleep?
Sounds pretty unhealthy to me. I'll keep my 8-12 hours, thanks. I don't think it is either. I don't see why anyone would want to be awake that much during the night anyway.. unless they had some huge project they wanted to finish and didn't have enough hours in the day to do it, like memorize every book on the planet.

"Rate/Hate"
If someone says something positive like, "I like it," then that can be helpful. Obviously if the person were to elaborate, it would be even more helpful.. but at least you know that you did something right and as pryomancer said, the morale boost is nice ;) But brief, "It sucks," comments are terrible. They're hurtful, unhelpful, and leave you with a million questions.

Hardest Skills To Master - List
Numbers also cannot always correctly answer questions in the way that you ask them ;) Summoning, for example, may be difficult, but it is also the newest skill, which results in fewer people with level 99. And skills can be done in several different ways and how hard the skill is depends on what things you take into consideration. Construction, for example, can be incredibly easy to 'master.' Cheap? No. Quick? Yes. It all depends on how you look at it. I personally know/am friends with several people who have and I'm sure there are many others who I do not know/haven't heard of. And I, at least, had gotten over half way before I quit RuneScape. And I love the skill ;) It certainly wasn't a waste of time to me. On another note, I'm pretty sure I've seen another list like this somewhere. It's possible that it got deleted in the rollback though.

Water Splashes
Thank you :) The first picture was one of the first ones I took. I quickly realized my error and made the appropriate adjustments :) I still included it because I love the splash in that one! Thanks for looking! Thank you! :D Feel free to try it out, I'd love to see what you come up with!!

Water Splashes
Thanks! #1 is my favourite too :) Thanks a lot! These were taken in my light box. I used string to strap a cooking baster (like this one: http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previe ... 102074.JPG ) to the top of the light box, and let it hang vertically. I placed a large box on the ground, put coloured paper on top of the box and on the back of the light box (the paper colour was chosen based on what colour I wanted the picture to be). Then I placed a dish, filled with water, on top of the box/paper. I put it on top of a box to get it up off the ground a bit, so I could get a better angle. I tied a paper clip to a string and tied it to the top of the light box so it hung down in line with the cooking baster. I used this paper clip to help focus my camera, which was mounted on a tripod. I then filled the cooking baster with water, which allowed it to continuously drip. I then took the pictures with a remote to avoid camera shake.. However, I am thinking of replacing the cooking baster with a bag filled with water, with a small hole at the bottom. The bag would hold a lot more water than a cooking baster, so I wouldn't have to keep stopping to refill it. .......and then I could give my mom her cooking baster back
