What affects a person's first 99 choice?
I think that, in many cases, it just sort of happens. Someone will start playing RuneScape for the first time, will all (or many/most) of the skills, begin to get a sense of which skills they like and which they don't, and then take it from there. In many cases, I'm sure that the skill(s) the person enjoys will become the highest and after a certain point the person probably starts thinking, "Well I'm already level [x] so why not continue on to 99?" Or, after playing the game for a few weeks/months, the person gets a sense of what it means to have a 99 skill, how people with 99 skills are praised, etc., and they pick out the easiest/fastest/cheapest one to level to 99 first. Obviously not true in every case.. but yeah, I guess I'd say a first 99 is usually a person's favourite skill or just one of the easiest skills to level. I don't think it's until later that people start getting 99s out of "obligation" or to achieve other goals (i.e. maxing out).

Tip.It wins award from World Play Online
I was thinking that  But he's a mod so it's within the rules... I don't know what your problem is but almost every comment I read by you, 3_Hit_U, is about how Moderators think they are above the rules. As made evident in Tanya's edit in the first post, NO Moderator is above the rules. Your comments are seriously getting to be ridiculous (and untrue).. Anyway, on a lighter note.. I think this is really awesome. It may not be the biggest award in the world, but it certainly feels great to be recognized! And thanks for the article on Tip.it in relation to clans!

All in favor of leet speak being banned on TiF?
I'm sure that any entire post created in LeetSpeak is already considered spam. If not, then it should. The occasional, legible comment in LeetSpeak is fine, in my opinion. But entire posts created in LeetSpeak or any other "language" that requires deciphering should not be permitted (and from my understanding, I thought it was already against the rules).

Popups.
There's your problem. From what I understand, Tip.it only gets money from banner ads when/if people click on them.. which people rarely do ;)

Starting to Smoke
Don't smoke... "one or two cigarettes" can turn into more before you know it. Besides, having "one or two cigarettes" will not many any of your problems disappear. As I'm sure other people have suggested, there are much better (and even healthy) ways to relieve stress. Just to name a few off the top of my head: [*:15rywcqu]Jogging. [*:15rywcqu]Massages. [*:15rywcqu]Reading. [*:15rywcqu]A hobby you're interested in? Many people enjoy art for not only fun but for stress-relief. [*:15rywcqu]Yoga/meditation (HUGE one). And I'm sure you could think of several others that would benefit you in particular, because everyone is different. I can't stress it enough... DON'T SMOKE. Sure you may here a story once in a while about Grandma Janie or Grandpa Joe who "smoked like a chimney and never had lung/health problems.." But if you get addicted, the chances are low that you will be that fortunate. If you start smoking one or two cigarettes every time you're stressed because you think it will help, soon you will panic if you're stressed and cannot get a cigarette. You will become dependent on the relief you may feel from smoking and will be unable to handle and face your real problems.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE LOOK ASAP
I personally think that the main problem is that in the second image, the mouth seems to extend way too far (almost as if the jaw bone has been broken). Rather than redesigning the mouth, I would just change how it looks in the second image. I think it would look fine if you only opened it slightly and maybe exposed some teeth, with the tongue slightly visible. But the mouth looks perfectly fine in the first image. The problem is just how you designed it to open in the second one.

lock please
They really should have left the information up, but the forums were just moved to a new server. A backup was created of the forums this morning and the Staff used that backup to transfer the forums to the new server, which took a few hours. So any posts that were created between that time and the completion of the server change were lost.

Off topic Hot Topic
If I remember correctly, many Off-Topic "regulars" were against this idea in the past because they didn't want to draw attention to Off-Topic. Many of them didn't like the attention they received from even the Real Life Pictures thread, and felt it drew a lot of immature users to the forum. They didn't seem to want a repeat of that.

How often do you LOL in RuneScape and Tip.It Forums?
Very rarely. When I say "lol" it can mean a variety of things: [*:3efs8rro]I consider something to be mildly funny or a joking matter, and I use "lol" to express that. [*:3efs8rro]I have nothing else to say but feel obligated to make a comment. [*:3efs8rro]And among other things... Usually if something got a smile/laugh out of me, I will express that by using "lmao" or "rofl."

Regarding Topics
People definitely do need to be more understanding when it comes to old topics being brought up again. And as Laikrob accurately mentioned, the Search function only works for threads that have been created or posted on after the rollback. What people fail/refuse to realize is that flaming a thread about a topic that has already been discussed is more pointless than creating the thread in the first place..

Pixel sigs - paypal
Section 1.4 of the Tip.it Forum Rules: Highlighted the relevant part. But nice signatures anyway. I would encourage you to post them for show (C&C) even though you cannot sell them.

Congratulations you two! Very well deserved :)

Ghost.. OOOO
I noticed the person, but it took me a few seconds to find it :) I really like this piece. Like Sara_Mange said, everything fits very well. The only point of criticism I have is the smallest text. It's a little too small/blurred for my liking. Other than that, great job on everything :)

Ability To Withdraw A Vote
I actually disagree. I think this would be important to have for official votes, and the reason being that peoples' opinions oftentimes get swayed. Someone may vote "Yes" (or whatever) right away, but then after reading the discussion for a few days, their opinion may change. Because votes are anonymous, I don't really see what you mentioned being much of an issue.

Ability To Withdraw A Vote
Some changes to the admin panel may have to be made to properly implement this (I noticed it in the admin panel when I was still an admin). I think the feature to allow users to change their votes may have been disabled in some forums. But I support the idea. I can't think of any way this could be a problem.

New Sig.
Agreed. Great job with the colours :) Overall I'm a little iffy. I definitely like parts of the sig, but I'm not sure if I like all those parts put together. I love the area including and below the text, but I can't decide if I like it on top of the smooth, dark background. It just feels a little too contrasting (sharp, colourful, abstract images on top of a dark, plain, smooth background). I feel like there needs to be a better transition (you do have SOME colour in the background, but maybe a little bit more closer to the next would be better?). The left side is nice too, but I definitely don't like it quite as much. It doesn't seem to flow quite as well as the right side does. And I'm not really a huge fan of the border :ohnoes: But otherwise, nice job. I definitely think you have some elements of the signature with a lot of potential. I'm just not sure that they all work well together, in the same image. Just my opinion though :ohnoes:

2 new photos
Fantastic job on both pictures! Silhouette: Not much to add to what others have said.. but I love the colours in the sky. That is one of my favourite sunset colours (the pale orange and blue) and I actually use it frequently in my artwork. Anyway, very clear silhouette. The front bird is fabulously sharp and the out-of-depth bird in the back looks great too. Metzo: Boring!? I can't imagine anyone claiming that it is boring and being able to back up their statement! The clouds look great, wonderful angle, very unique building (I agree with Nadril - that's a SCHOOL!?!?). Great job as always :) Now how about some more pictures of you're awesome pets!?

Allowing video game walkthroughs in the Video Game forum
I've never known of a rule that forbade the creation of video game walkthroughs. As long as you put them in hide tags, like Phil said, I don't think there would be a problem?

Construction cost?
Why not use Tip.it's Construction Calculator to figure it out yourself? That way you can guarantee accurate results rather than estimates. Find out how many planks your friend needs, then multiply that value by the cost of planks (will your friend be buying at the minimum, middle or maximum price?). The demon butler doesn't slow you down if you use it properly to the point where you are NEVER NOT BUILDING. If used improperly, you will be waiting for the butler to return, which will in fact slow you down. But if used properly, you will be continuously building and never sitting around doing nothing. But either butler works fine. If you want to be more cost efficient, go ahead and use the regular butler.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
Yep, I read quite the opposite as well.. In fact I even remember seeing a mythbusters episode on the 5-second rule, which turned out to be garbage. Of course it's different if you drop it in your own room (if you clean it regularly, it's probably 100% void of e.coli bacteria or salmonella), but in a public place.. They tested it, and there's no difference between a sandwich dropped on the floor for 2 seconds, and one dropped for 5 or more seconds. It's contaminated as heck and contains all kinds of dangerous bacteria you don't want to put in your mouth. If it's touched a public floor, just don't eat it. I never thought the whole "five second rule" was a real rule that people actually believed in :ohnoes: I always just thought it was a playful kind of joke. I didn't realize people took it seriously :-k

Kids, honestly what do you want from yours?
Yes it is very interesting. Especially considering that their parents probably had the same mindset, but flipped around. Many of them were probably thinking, "My parents didn't care enough about my future. They gave me very little guidance and assistance. I will do my best to guide my children down the right path so they can succeed." yada yada yada. That being said, I think I would try my best to be fair. I would love it if my children grew up knowing that they could trust and talk to me about anything. When it comes to certain things, I can see myself getting a little pushy (the drugs/alcohol road) because of my personal opinions on the matter. There's definitely no harm in a little encouragement (teaching your son/daughter how to play x sport), but once they get to the point where they can say, "I do not like this sport and do not want to play it," the parent needs to drop it. Encouragement is fine, but I would never force my children to play a sport or engage in an activity that they don't like.

Clean up of General Discussion Forum
Much better! Thank you :)
