  1. You're not serious, are you? You really think there's a need to explain what a Moderator Trainee is?? I don't know what the difference between a moderator and a moderator trainee is. *hides* A moderator trainee is a moderator in training (so they don't have the full moderator responsibility/powers yet). They're usually only assigned to one board, where moderators are usually assigned to a couple.
  2. This entire forum is for asking and answering questions, so we don't need just one thread to do that. If someone has as question they want answered, they can just make their own thread. Furthermore, there is a sticky in the Off-Topic forum for advertising websites.
  3. Keep in mind that one of the goals of the whole program was to get moderator trainees from different time zones for all of the forums so that the boards can all be covered almost 24/7. So don't expect to know all of these people unless you are an active viewer of every single board on the forum ;) That is certainly not true. Just because someone has been here for a few years does not mean that they can get away with breaking rules. This thread was posted here instead of the Announcements forum because we got complaints when we allowed regular users to post in that forum. People didn't like the fact that the forum was constantly being "flagged down" and it discouraged them from viewing that forum at all. So we proposed the idea of posting an identical topic in General Discussion (the general board of the forums, no doubt) for people to comment on, because many people expressed that they would like to do so. Nobody complained about the idea, so we went ahead with it. We are not abusing our powers or carrying out unjust actions or whatever it is you guys are saying. It is one thread in one forum and it's certainly not hurting anyone. If you don't want to read it, ignore it. It's not like we're out there mass banning people for no reason - now THAT would be power abuse. Now can we please get back on topic? There is really no need to continue this discussion. -------------------- Congratulations (again) you guys!
  4. Locked - please do not spam.
  5. Please give a big round of applause for November's contest winners: Achievement of the Month: Miner_I for 99 crafting and 99 firemaking! - 99 Crafting & Fm at the SAME TIME in f2p (level 3 cb)!! Picture of the Month: ThruItAll - Assasins Creed. Sorry for the short delay in posting this - busy weekend ;) Congratulations to you both!!!
  6. F2P and P2P were seperated before? Why didn't they keep it that way? Because it did more trouble than good, at least from a moderator's perspective. The forums were divided into General (which was supposed to include any discussions that were not P2P specific, so they didn't necessarily have to be strictly F2P), and General P2P (which included any discussions that only related to the P2P players). But the problem was that people kept posting General topics in General P2P, where they didn't belong, because their thread would receive more traffic. We even had a couple incidents were people would do whatever they could to repost their thread in General P2P even after it was moved correctly to General. It was basically an ongoing headache for the moderators.
  7. Yes, half of them haven't been replied to in over a year, but keep in mind that two of those are "informative" stickies that are primarily meant to be read rather than replied to (in fact, one of them is even locked). However, I have de-stickified the Suggestions Topic, as I find it rather useless. The forum is old now and any suggestions might as well be posted here.
  8. Sorry, 'tis on the Suggestion Blacklist:
  9. Referral links are not permitted anywhere on the Tip.it Forums.
  10. Would be a fun little tool to play with ;) Not a necessity, but fun nonetheless.
  11. Because the point of a forum is not to have the largest display of an image possible, but to show off the quality of your posts ;) This has been discussed and debated to the bone on the Forum Updates & Suggestions board and it has been made clear that the avatar and signature file size limits will not be changing anytime soon.
  12. We have a great 'question team' as it is: the users ;) If we had a specific staff for it, it would make regular users feel like it wasn't in their place to answer questions, when really they may be even more qualified to do so. It would just complicate things and isn't necessary.
  13. Yeah, roleplaying wouldn't fall under those, Skatedog. I'd say that the closest would be Forum Games, but it's still kind of... eh.. If there was a large demand for it, then I wouldn't mind. But I don't really see RuneScape as big in the roleplaying area :(
  14. Sorry I'm completely useless in this situation.. but while this has never happened to me on this forum, it did happen to me on a forum I was browsing a couple months ago. They had a different forum package, which may have caused it, but I was using the same computer/browser that I am now.
  15. We've tried this before and it was extremely unsuccessful. We had the main Help & Advice forum for all misc. questions and then various subforums for specific questions (skilling and moneymaking and there might've even been one other). But 90% of people ignored the subforums all together and just continued to post in the main forum. Then people who wanted to help out didn't want to navigate through subforums and usually just stuck to the main Help & Advice forum as well. The system we have now works well, I think. It is rare that a question goes unanswered and they're usually all answered in an efficient manner. Besides, if you need construction help, you're always welcome to PM me ;)
  16. So true ;) She owns us all. But fixed anyway! Hehe. Thanks, nice catch.
  17. Locked on request.
  18. I agree 100% with Kiara. If you're making a guide, you should spend a couple hours researching and writing it. Therefore, it would make the most sense to type it up on a word document, so you can constantly be saving it. Your word document should have a spellchecker, and if not, I don't know why you'd use that program anyway. Then once it's complete, you can post it in the PMG section, at which point there should be no need for a built-in spellchecker. And I use Safari, which checks my spelling as I type anyway (similar to Microsoft Word).
  19. I think it looks great!! I love the colours. Definitely keep going with it, in my opinion.
  20. Awesome work!  I love the colour scheme and general style of the image and text. They work well together~!
  21. Congratulations to our contest winners for the month of October: Achievement of the Month: Shahrazad for 99 attack - her ninth level 99 skill as F2P player - ~*9th 99 skill - F2P - Never Been a Member*~ Picture of the Month: Lobbytrio - //- Lobbytrio's [[PIXEL]] Gallery -// Feel free to visit their threads (linked above) to congratulate them and/or comment on their achievement/picture! Congratulations to the both of you!
  22. Fast Free Laws :P
  23. It depends almost 100% on the person, in my opinion. For me, FFL bored me to tears. So much so that it slowed down my work immensely. After a certain point, I was gaining xp much faster solo'ing nature runes than from FFL. When you solo nature runes, you don't have to think, "Okay I'm losing money now, but it will be worth it in the end." You don't have to keep telling yourself that. If you solo nature runes, you're already making a lot of money and that motivates you to keep going. But if you have to keep telling yourself that it will eventually be worth it, that strand of hope will slowly die out (for some people) because the results always seem so far away and it will just slow your work (or put a stop to it all together). There's my little psychological analysis for you :P You just have to figure out whether or not you will fall victim to a lack of motivation with FFL or other companies where you're not gaining any money, and therefore cannot see any physical evidence of progress and benefits.
