  1. Why is it inappropriate to calmly discuss the moderation of this subforum? It's no less appropriate than discussing who should moderate a game. Discussing moderation itself (policies, strictness of moderation, etc.) is fine. But getting into specifics (moderator action or discussing individual moderators) is not okay. The reason for this is that saying "x shouldn't be a moderator" or "I don't like that x is a moderator because now they're going to do x, y and z" gets into moderator bashing and naming players in a negative light, both of which are against the Tip.it Forum Rules. Complaints should be PMed to administrators to avoid hurt feelings, undeserved bad reputations, further moderator bashing, etc.
  2. Please enough discussion about who you do or do not like as a moderator. I'll say it once more: if you have concerns, please PM an administrator. Complaining about it or discussing it publicly is not appropriate.
  3. ^ What earth said. Basically saying that you don't like him as a moderator and assuming that he's going to start doing x, y, z. You didn't mention any recent moderator actions but were more complaining about him being made a moderator in general, which is equally inappropriate ;)
  4. tl;dr: Nexaduro reported me for talking about an item in a video game called Creamy [rooster]. That particular report nearly got me banned because it was at a time when there was a lot of tension between Admins and members of this forum board, between me and Das in particular, I think. I actually wasn't trying to be immature when discussing this item (it was a new update, and I was talking about the update), so I'm sort of pissed. Even if it wasn't like he was intentionally trying to get me banned, it still was pretty inconvenient. I was also a little annoyed because he was complaining and throwing a fit in an IRC channel that I was moderating because someone said something "offensive" and I refused to kick them. Something like that. Don't remember. Don't care. There's nothing wrong with people reporting offensive content when they see it. You shouldn't be mad at the person who reported you, since all they're doing is trying to ensure that the rules are upheld. Furthermore, please don't complain about moderators or moderator actions publicly as it's not appropriate. If you want to vent any frustrations or concerns that you have, you may PM an administrator. I also want to reassure you that all moderator actions are reviewed by administrators to prevent biased moderating, etc. As long as you abide by the rules, we shouldn't have a problem.
  5. Well there are a lot more gamer girls out there than some guys realize :P

Video game industry here I come  I'd love to do JUST promotional art for video games. I say "just promotional" because that artwork is complete, refined and you really pour your heart and soul into it. In contrast, concept art is a bunch of quick sketches.
  8. Some great work this month - congratulations to all the artists!
  9. If you have any suggestions please feel free to make a thread in Forum Updates & Suggestions :) Anyway congratulations!! Try not to go insane towards the end.. I know I almost did!
  10. I've moved this to General Discussion since you said you wanted to discuss methods and how they've changed. If the purpose of this thread is actually to gain advice on how to make money, feel free to PM me and I'll move it back :)
  11. I know exactly what you mean :P Limbs in general are pure evil.
  12. Please join me in welcoming our two newest moderators: Nexaduro and ross_the_knight. They will be patrolling the Falador Tavern! Congratulations you two!

We actually used to have one or two threads about it but they were both like... 3 years ago  I've been playing LOTRO off and on since 2007. Right now I'm... not playing. Before I maxed out my characters, I really, really enjoyed the game. It was a lot of fun and it was entertaining. Before any of the expansion packs, I also loved the end-game content. Now I have a few reasons for not playing as much. First of all, before the level cap was raised the first time, I had like 5 characters maxed out. Once you get to that point, you are left with very little motivation to keep playing. When the level cap was raised, I maxed out my main character but then I kind of felt like "Why should I max out the others? I know what waits for me at endgame - grinding to get good gear and then that's it." So I lost interest in maxing all my characters. Furthermore, I don't like the new end-game raids :( NOTHING beats The Rift and the other, shorter instances from Shadows of Angmar. Whenever I can find a group I often do The Rift just for fun even though the armour is no longer the best of the game and is pretty pointless to try and get.
  14. Hiya :) I'm locking this thread for two reasons. First of all, guides belong in the General Guides forum. Secondly, we do not permit just linking to a guide on another forum/website. If you wish to share your guides, please paste them into their own threads in the forum mentioned above. I also agree with Sir_Squab that the method for paying for RuneScape membership seems fishy, or at least like some kind of advertisement for a referral link, which aren't permitted on these forums. Should you choose to repost your other guides, please leave that one out :) Thanks.
  15. I agree with both of the above. If it was more of a discussion/debate subforum, so many of the threads in Off-Topic could be classified as rants at the beginning or over time (innocent discussion becoming a heated, ranting debate). If it was just a place for venting quick frustrations, I feel like there would just be a lot of short individual threads. The threads mention above serve as a good home for these kinds of rants. In short, I think everything is working just fine as is :) P.S. HAI OREO!
  16. I hate it when someone who smells strongly of cigarettes/weed sits next to me :(
  17. So awesome  :)
  18. My entire family has owned Apple desktops and laptops since before I can remember (over 10 years) and none of us have ever experienced any major issues So between the five of us, we have easily had maybe 15 or more computers. Any problems we have experienced were either due to the computer's age (and thus naturally slowing down, etc.) or OS issues that were fixed by the next update. Similarly, I have only ever owned Canon cameras. Not much to say other than no major issues and I've loved them all :P
  19. I love baths :D I take one every night when I'm at home. I don't do anything like read or eat in my baths though. They're about 20 mins long, which I think is pretty standard for a bath. I'm kind of OCD when eating food. I always feel obligated to finish my meal completely. Not because "there are starving kids in Africa!!" or whatever people say but because I hate looking at a plate with just a litle bit of food left.
  20. You are welcome to remove all personal information from your account (i.e. e-mail address, location, and anything else you have filled in on your profile) but as a rule we do not delete accounts.
  21. Zomg puppy picture!! So adorable!!! <3:
  22. Congratulations you guys! Keep up the good work!!
  23. That should be obvious...to be able to access it in the future. There is a reason the best clans don't let in just anyone. But we're not a clan - we're a fansite community. It's not our job to pick and choose who belongs here other than enforcing the rules. If it were me, I'd take one look, realize I can't post in the best/most "mature" discussions and then leave to find another, less restricting forum. And it's perfectly understandable.
  24. There is a reason why Tip.it doesn't have "Honoured Member" ranks or doesn't have "Member of the Month" contests or forums that require x post count in order to post. We have always prided ourselves on being as inviting and welcoming as possible to new users. We don't want to have unnecessary restrictions, whether it be in the form of a public private board or something else. If such a board exists, then that would likely become the place where almost all discussion is held. And if new users can't get in (because they're new), what motivation is there for new users to join if they can't even participate in the best discussions?
  25. Separating people into "good" and "bad" camps is only going to make things worse and is definitely not what this forum needs. This is a free forum for anyone to join regardless of whether or not you deem them worthy of posting. Instead of shunning people for being bad posters, why don't you give them the same opportunity to grow and mature as a poster that you were given when you joined. I agree. Such a thing would only publicly humiliate the users who are not accepted. Several people have mentioned elitism existing now.. well creating a public private forum would only make that problem so much worse. People who get in will think highly of themselves and the people who don't get in are basically on display for everyone else to think to themselves, "lol."
