Space Discussion
Locking this thread as it's getting out of hand. archimage_a is under no obligation to change the title of Space and quite frankly, I think too much importance is being put on labels. Even if Space doesn't have Hegemony in it (not saying that's necessarily true), it's really not the end of the world to label it a hybrid. I don't think this discussion needs to continue since both sides have stated their point and it's really up to archimage_a if he wants to change it or not. There is no need to badger him into doing anything or insisting that he has to change it, because he really does not have to do it if he doesn't feel it's necessary.

eReaders & eBooks
I'm not a fan of eReaders/eBooks. I'm a collector. Not only do I like to physically hold the book in my hand, but I love having a collection: an entire bookshelf full of books. I'm also a fan of buying "antique" books. I have several books from the 1800s, mostly because I just love the look of them :) So I won't be converting anytime soon :P

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
The way I see it, she didn't react too differently to how you did. It sounds like you really got pissed at her, and honestly over something pretty trivial. You overreacted a lot. You say it's rude to cancel plans at such an ungodly hour - why? You were awake at the time. She texted you. Why does it matter what time it was? If you were upset because of the short notice, then I'm sure you had to have known there was a good reason for it. You got really pissed off at her and raged before you even knew the reason. So you got mad at her and it's certainly reasonable that she was upset by it, especially given the circumstances under which she canceled the plans. In short: what you did wrong was getting pissed off at her before knowing the circumstances. She has every right to be upset because you got mad at her like that and she's obviously upset because of her grandfather.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
I was pretty similar until recently. I watched Star Wars for the first time in my junior year of high school, The Matrix for the first time senior year, Terminator for the first time last year (freshman year of university). I did, however, see The 40 Year Old Virgin in theaters.

The Poll
Well to me, methods of dying you listed are more frightening than anything else. But it's not so much death itself but rather the way I'd die. Like dying of old age or something wouldn't really frighten me, but a long drawn-out death would. Furthermore, dying isn't something that frightens me every day. It's only ever something I think about if I see it in a scary movie or in a poll like this :P A more commonly felt fear would be the species (but of that list, only spiders I think).

That is covered by section 1.3 - Flaming, Violence, Harassment & Pointless Vulgarity. Personal attacks, flaming, insults and harassment are not permitted. If you see them, please report them :)

What happened to this community?
I'll say it once more: please no posts that point fingers at who is trolling (or violating some other rules) and who is not.

What happened to this community?
I think we've just kind of let BlogScape slip into "whatever" since blogs are kind of "personal space" and the forum has no post count. In the past the forum was in general a lot less spammy but we still had rules about no pointless bumping or off-topic comments, etc. But spam just wasn't all that common. Then I left staff and BlogScape for a while and came back and suddenly it seems like the place is just a huge mess. I'm not saying it got messed up because I wasn't there, but I'm saying because I was absent I don't know what happened. Now I guess it's almost like "abide by every rule except you're allowed to spam and go off-topic." Furthermore, since it is "personal space" I reckon moderators don't have much reason to read through blogs so people get the idea that they can get away with breaking the rules (and in all honesty, I'm sure it does go unnoticed far more often than in other forums).

What happened to this community?
I am actually also very disappointed in BlogScape :( I used to be very big on blogging back in 2006 and 2007 and during those times, BlogScape was an enjoyable and supportive place. These days, from what I've seen blogs are just pages and pages of spam and chatter that isn't even related to RuneScape

What happened to this community?
Let's please put an end to this back and forth argument. It's not appropriate to point fingers to call out trolls, rule-breakers or whatever. And just to clear things up, the administrative team does not show favour to certain groups of people or friends. If someone's friend is violating the rules it is our policy that the admin or moderator does not deal with it themselves and instead hands the situation over to someone else. This is to avoid any bias. Furthermore, someone said "we never see anything being done." Actions taken against users are not made public. If someone is warned or suspended or even banned, there is no way for the community to know unless the person in question tells them about it on another forum/messenger/etc. If you ever see someone violating the rules, report them and we will deal with it. But as someone else also mentioned, we cannot ban people for simply being annoying or because we dislike them. Anyway you may continue discussing the community as the whole but please refrain from pointing fingers or calling people out, etc. If you would like to make any formal complaints about moderating or policies, create a thread in Forum Updates & Suggestions. If you would like to make a complaint about a specific user or staff member, please private message an administrator.

Question on deleting music from iTunes + PC
No way that I know of D:

Literature
Movies/TV and music go together because they are forms of entertainment :) The main purpose of The Gallery has always been to share personal artwork and the main purpose of the Varrock Library has always been to share personal writings. Artistic and literary discussions have never been the emphasis. But with music, more people here seem to like to discuss music by popular artists than share their own works. So on this forum it's more often viewed as entertainment rather than an artistic medium. Hope that makes sense. Anyway if you'd like to make a formal suggestion you may create a topic in Forum Updates & Suggestions :) Personally I don't think I'm in favour of merging or moving anything but if you're serious about the suggestion, creating a topic would get more opinions by both regular ussers and staff members.

Question on deleting music from iTunes + PC
I don't have my PC with me so I can't check to see if it's the same on PC as it is Mac, but on Mac it's Shift+Apple+R so I'd imagine that on PC it would be Shift+Control+R. However pre-iTunes 10 it was just Apple+R / Control+R so it depends which version you have.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Yeah I'm psyched for an epic battle. They better not downplay it since we missed out on the battle in the 6th movie! It would be nice if they put the blu-rays on one disc. I'll probably have it downloaded on my computer anyway, but I know that switching discs is a royal pain (LotR extended!).

What movie(s) did you last see?
It's better than how long we usually have to wait :P In the past the movies have been like what.. 1.5 years apart?

Literature
But then what use would there be for a forum? ;) I know it would be nice to get the possible extra activity, but it's just not appropriate. It's like having a "Music" or "Video Games" thread in Off-Topic. Maybe if VL contains book discussion now it should be a sub-forum of OT. I know I, for one, completely forget about this thread because it isn't in an area I routinely browse. Unfortunately I'm not really sure that's something we can do. We can't have everything be a subforum of Off-Topic to gain more traffic or to accomadate the OT regulars. I know it's frustrating, but I'm just not sure it's fair to some of the other forums. For instance, The Gallery is probably the forum closest to the Varrock Library. The Varrock Library is for posting your own creative writing and also for discussing literature. The Gallery is for posting your own artistic work and for discussing artwork. Like the Varrock Library, The Gallery has been losing much steam over the past few years. So if Varrock Library were made a subforum of OT, then why not The Gallery as well? How do we justify moving only one of the forums and make it fair for everyone? And if both were made subforums of OT (would probably never happen, but just saying) then OT has five subforums and that's just getting excessive. Just something to think about.

The Back Room
Let's end this flaming now please. Talking to both sides here: we don't need to be biting at each others' throats. If something bothers you, it's best to just ignore it and move on. If something violates the rules you should IGNORE it and report it. If you report someone there is no need to post saying that you reported it as that only fuels the flames. Glad to see the apology above, so hopefully we can talk about something else now and heaven forbid, get along with each other :P

Question on deleting music from iTunes + PC
I just tried deleting a song and got two popups: First asking me if I'm sure I want to delete it. This one had the option to be disabled. The second popup asks: "Do you want to move the selected song to the Trash, or keep it in the iTunes Media folder?" This one did not have an option to be disabled. For the second you select to move it to the trash. If you don't get either of those popups go to Preferences > Advanced > Reset all dialogue warnings. Then try again and see if you get the popups.

What happened to everyone?
You say that trading can now be done by "sitting and waiting." This was still true in the past. Previously the way to go about it was to create a thread on the forums then while you bump it, sit in world two "sitting, spamming and waiting." In that sense, I don't see much of a difference. Where I do see a difference is with people who formed bonds with other players through trading. For instance, when I was training herblore I found someone who sold a steady supply of bird nests. She always saved nests for me, I always bought from her and through that "business" relationship we developed a personal relationship. These days I probably wouldn't bother forming business relationships with people because I can just buy items at the Grand Exchange. But this has to do with the fact that our economy is now more heavily constrained by Jagex than the fact that I could just put an offer into the GE. As for your Ardougne/thieving sentiments, years and years ago (before Pyramid Plunder) Ardougne actually was a good way to train thieving. Pickpocketing paladins or guards or whatever it was used to be some of the best thieving experience available. Once pyramid plunder came out, that became a better way to train.

Recruitment Drive
I often find that people who violate the rules do one of the following: Don't read the rules, even if they are clearly visible. Don't care about following the rules and will violate them even if they know it's wrong. Know that what they're doing violates the rules but they get caught up in the heat of the moment and lose a bit of self-control. It is rarely a case of the rules not being detailed enough. Anyway most of what you've said in your extended version of the rules already exists in the Tip.it Forum Rules and doesn't really need to be repeated. Or if it is mentioned, it can be simplified with a link to the Tip.it Forum Rules for more details. More comments: 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 can all be merged and written in a more concise fashion i.e. : If a role-play has specific rules they will be outlined in the opening post. If a role-play does not have any rules outlined then the opening post will probably refer to a well-known game type (Hegemony, Dungeoneering, etc.). These types are based on Tavern Tradition and while it may be confusing at first for new players, the rules are easy to pick up as you go along. When in doubt, contact the game moderator for instruction. [*]3.0 is covered by the Tip.it Forum Rules (flaming, harassment, etc.). If you feel it is necessary to be included, it can be made more concise like so: Flaming, name-calling and other forms of personal attacks are not permitted. If you see such comments being made, please do not reply to them. Instead, report them by clicking the Report button below the post: [*]3.1 is also covered by the Tip.it Forum Rules (spamming and flaming). [*]4.0 is covered in the Tip.it Forum Rules under section 1.4 - Stay on Topic. [*]6.1 - If I understand this correctly, this rule just shouldn't be there. What you're saying is that the moderator reserves the right to exclude users from playing their game. All users are allowed to play any game. I can understand disallowing someone from rejoining if they left the game since it can disrupt the flow of the game, but everyone should be allowed to play if they haven't left and if they want to play. [*]7.1 - Seems a bit redundant to me, as it was implied in section 5.0. [*]8.0 needs to be removed or revised unless certain changes are made. As I highlighted before, there are other sections other than 7.0 which are aspects of the Tip.it Forum Rules and need to be followed.
