  1. *parties excessively* I don't get people who go on about RWT. >Jagex is a business >RWT harms their business So logically... >Jagex cares about stopping RWT >Ergo they wouldn't bring back free trade if they weren't confident in their abilities of stopping RWT.

    Finding a song

  3. My 'Windows 7 System Rating/experience index' is thus: Yeah. HDD's. I have two: 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 - Boot drive 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 - Storage Both connected to my MSI P43T-C51 motherboard via SATA. My boot drive had something in the jumper socket that slowed it from 3.0GB/s to 1.5, I removed that but no change. OS is Win7 x64. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
  4. This To be honest, you (nomally) buy the x86 and x64 editions together, and you may as well install x86 seeing as you a) Can't upgrade from x86 to x64, and x86 will eventually become obselete, so you may as well go to x64 now b) you can upgrade your RAM without the headache of reinstalling os again. OP, you may as well overclock, even just a little.
  5. Because that i7-950 at 3.06GHz would outperform a 3.0GHz AMD hexcore, never mind the quad core. But surely 3GHz is 3GHz, regardless of brand (perhaps if you tested w/o cache?)
  6. I'm still pretty clueless as to why a 3.0GHz AMD Phenom II Quad core is $99.99 while an i7-950 @ 3.06GHz Quad core is $294.99. I know the i7 has that 8MB of cache an people have been telling me that the Intels internal architecture is a lot better.
  7. The Sun and the Rain - Madness It is such an awesome song. It almost seems like back then songs were a lot 'happier' than they are now - a lot more inspirational.
  8. Case is really up to your discrestion. If it fits everything, it is simply down to what you like (so long as it has enough fans etc). For us to give you any specific parts, you need to give us a specific budget that you want to spend. Just a max price for everything is good. I would go with a DDR3 motherboard, seeing as you're updating anyway. DDR2 will be phased out and DDR3 will become the new standared. I would get an Intel because they are overclock-able and the 1156 socket will be around for a while yet. Ditch an optical drive or two if you can, they like to eat power. You'll want to buy Windows 7 x64 as well so you can utilise all of your RAM and add more in the future (32 bit only recognises up to 3.5GB RAM).
  9. Not for $1200. Hiss. Intel is generally higher quality. There may be specific things that lead to such, but that's the generality of it. For a medium sized budget (say, $1200), AMD is good because you'll get the power for cheaper, even if it's slightly less reliable. For something really high-end, you'd best be shooting for an i7. I use an AMD Phenom II x4 (Black Edition), and I haven't had any problems (at least, nothing seemingly related to my processor). Oh, and an OS (Windows) and monitor will probably sum up to close or past $300. Windows Home Premium x64 is $120 max. Monitors are going for ~$100 too. I'd say he's within budget. The i7 has 8MB of L2 though :s and overclockable.
  10. Personally, I would not try to fit it. If I were you, given your situation, I'd buy a decent laptop that will do very well for your work as well as RS.
  11. Not for $1200. MOTHERBOARD: MSI X58 Pro-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - $179.99 GFX: DIAMOND 5770PE51G Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card $149.99 RAM: G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ $66.99 CPU: Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950 $294.99 PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply - $69.99 CASE: This is really up to you, but hers an Antec 900 for you -$99.99 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive $39.99 Total comes to $901.93. I have to say, I don't really know the difference between AMD and Intel Processors. i7-950 is 3.06GHz quad core, whereas you can get an AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz for $99.99...? But yeah, that give you $300 to play around with for monitor+keyboard+mouse+os. Do forgive me if I've missd anything from the list... :P
  12. I had that dell computer that you had. I'm 95% sure that the PSU is a different size to standard PSU's, so you can not upgrade it. I can't say about the graphics card - I upgraded mine but it was only 1 expansion slot high, not 2. If I were you, I would just go the whole way and ditch dell. Buy a case, a new motherboard, a new PSU and a new GFX card. Yes, it will be a lot more expensive. But if your motherboard/PSU breaks in that current setup, you're going to have to do that anyway. It is a lot better to ditch Dell's non-standard parts and get fully standard easily upgradable parts, so you can just replace the components that fail - not the entire computer. I highly reccomend doing this. Tech details of case: it is BTx format, not ATx format (which is standard). The PSU is more square in this dell case, and will not fit in ATx cases. The motherboard is the same. I had this exact machine and those are the problems I faced.
  13. Moving around the files won't make much of a difference, but deleting duplicates will. Check for duplicate songs in iTunes and delete one of them. You could always buy a new hard drive if your problem is with space. They're pretty cheap nowadays. How big is your current one? You can get a terabyte hard drive for as low as US$55, and just stick all of your music on there. I might just be a organisational freak, but life is a lot easier if all similar files (ie. music, video, programs etc) are in the same place. At least, I think your problem is with organising music and also hard drive space. Could you be more specific, it's quite hard to see what you're trying to ask?
  14. I don't live in America, but it seems to be a step towards more government control. It does, however, just seem like one of those crazy ideas that gets put out there, though about, and dropped anyway. And how is it in any way practical? I've no idea how many internet users are in America, but it would be an enourmous effort to give everyone one of these e-ID Card thigs for practically no result. What are the government trying to achieve anyway? If it went through, I'd strongly oppose it, but I really just think this is some idea that's been taken a little further than it normally would, but ultimately will be dropped.
  15. The door is in Latin. "Life is short, in a short time it will be finished death arrives faster than anyone believes Death annihilates all and pity on no one" Jagexfail though, you don't capitalise in Latin except for names.
  16. SC Hammers are worth it, especially if you don't mind stealing creation too much. Saves a tonne of money. Oak dungeon doors are the way to go for a while, up to 80 at least.
  17. I've just upgraded to Windows 7 x64. I've managed to change my 'Program files' DIR from C:\ to E:\, but not the 'Program files x86 folder. I don't know if this is because I already have stuff installed in it or something? ie. I've installed stuff into the x86 folder before changing the path in the registry and restarting. I've changed the locations by editing the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion Here's what it looks like. These haven't been changed since restart.
  18. I'm thinking 1TB HDD, i7 970 or 960/950 (I don't know how good hexcore tech is), 6GB DDR3, hence a socket 1366+ddr3ram motherboard. I'll have a look for speific parts in the morning. Meanwhile, some advice on what sort of monitor/keyboard/mouse you want - we can give suggestions, but not pick for you, because it really is personal preference.

    From Flab to Abs.

I can't help you with any of the actual exercise, but I've had/have the same problem w/ the coke as you. I found that buying a water cooler (not terribly expensive) and sticking it next to my desk stopped me drinking quite so much (I guess drinking coke was just for quenching my thirst).
  22. This. You want to set your essay out very clearly. Structure makes it a lot easier to convey the point you are trying to make. At the moment your essay has quite vague points, you really want to work on setting out very clearly on what you are going to talk about in a specific paragraph - it really does make it a lot easier to write. You might also want to run it through a spelling/grammar checker before handing it in - there are a few grammatical mistakes. Point - What is your paragraph about? Introduce it, but don't go into detail, and no quotes. Evidence - Quotes. I know it's sometimes hard to find them, I for one hate trawling through a book to find them - but they are needed if you want that A/B grade. If it's a general theme throughout the play, you can paraphrase, but ideally you'd have a quote. Analysis/Explain - Explain why the quote proves the point you are trying to make. This is your place to shine, but evidence is essential. Out of interest, are you in Y10 or 11?
  23. Very glad that you made me get away from flax :P
  24. They should be easy at your level. Bring normal melee equipment, and perhaps go on W84 if you don't mind a bit of lag, to help the miners out. Drops are mediocre, not amazing, but ok. I would do it.
