  1. For mass freeware installation, http://ninite.com/ is a very good website where you download an installer which will install your choice of programs. I know it's not specifically what you asked, but it's related :P
  2. Is it a USB 1.0 socket? They don't provide as much power as 2.0 does, and that could be your problem.
  3. I'm not sure if they changed it, but I'm pretty sure that before they got rid of free trade, they clarified that buying stuff like signatures etc was considered real world trading. Just a heads up
  4. I would urge caution when building your own computer/choosing your own components if you do not know what you are doing. It would be substantially cheaper, I would admit. With regards to that page, higher GHz is generally better.

Looks pretty sick, but I'm more looking for one with a large side window. The case will have to be midi tower preferably or full tower ATX, by the way.
  6. I'm looking at getting a new case. Budget is no more than £150 at the very most, preferably cheaper. I'm looking for a multitude of fan spaces, preferably a 180/200mm one somewhere. Lots of HDD bays, as well as ideally a cable management solution, although this is just an extra. Bottom mounted PSU preferably too. I'm looking for a sizeable side window, but it's fine if its got a 120mm fan in it. I've looked at the Antec 900, which looks pretty nice. The Coolermaster StormScout looks alright, but I prefer the clear window. The thing I like about that case is the cool style front I/O panel. So, do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
  7. Hmm maybe try the RS Client? If your computer is not amazing it works a lot nicer I have found - especially with regards to Java.
  8. I am not intending to troll - but isn't this the sort of time that sticking a big magnet next to your HDD would actually work? Or does it damage other parts of the HDD as well as wiping the platters. Don't do that though, I've got no idea what would happen.
  9. I don't follow mobile OS trends too carefully but from what I have seen, I think Windows Phone 7 has just come in to the market too late. Who knows, maybe in the near furture it will skyrocket? Actually, thinking about it, with the rise of android I'm sure more competition will arise from WP7 and more - I think the era of iPhone dominated smartphone society has come to an end. I don't see why this is a bad thing for microsoft or nokia. Nokia needs more sales, Microsoft needs more sales. Microsoft just need to market WP7 better and have it on more platforms so its actually worth bothering making apps for it (well, can you make apps for it? I'm not entirely sure) Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense... it made sense in my head :P
  10. First post has it all. If it picks nothing up, try scanning in safe mode. Then again, you could go the whole hog and scan from a Linux distro on a CD, though it probably wouldn't come to that. I don't know if this would make a difference - but if/when I have a virus like this, I would disconnect from internet when scanning. Someone will probably correct me and say this does nothing, but I do it regardless.
  11. Well, the president did well by not stepping down  /Sarcasm The Vice PM's speech is basically awful, just reiterating that Mubarak will not step down. He is feebly attempting to calm people down, but he has to know that he has absoulutely zero chance of getting rid of them. He's praising them right and left. I guess it's not awful, but it's not far off.

You're doing a medical class in school.. yet you have no medical knowledge? Does not compute. I would say anti-biotics though. But yeah, medical class == no medical knowledge?
  13. UK www.lambda-tek.com They are pretty similar to newegg, like a UK/Europe equivilant.
  14. Avast! or Avira. I think they're basically the same, look em up on the internet. Microsoft Security Essentials is good because it knows the details of what is 'supposed' to be in your OS, and can check your computer against that database (I think, at least). You'll also want an anti spyware. I use ad-aware.
  15. Hmm.. Do what the others said, change graphics mode to opengl and check here to see if your Java is up to date. Also check if your graphics card drivers are up to date (on Windows 7: Computer > System Properties > Device manager > Display adapter > Double click on gfx card > Driver tab) Can you post your system specs, especially graphics card please? Thanks.
  16. The main reason for you to build it yourself rather than buy a prebuilt is money. Go to your local computer store, or check out www.newegg.com , and find a computer you like. Then, see if you can find the parts that make up the computer individually (again, newegg),. See the price difference, then decide for yourself whether or not it is worth it to build your own.
  17. You can definately with a splitter.
  18. Radeon 5770 is decent, but for $200 you may as well go with the 5800 series IMO.
  19. o.O that is too hot. Probably dust.
  20. You can also clean out dust. Buy a can of compressed air ($5 or something) and clan it out.
  21. Last week, I got a claw drop and was happy to have the extra cash. I made more than triple that from flipping yesterday, and I didn't even care (i was more interested in the market implications). I'm not trying to show off or anything, I just have to express the magnitude of the cash we're dealing with. I see exactly what you are talking about, and yes flipping can make you a ton. But if you compare it to the limited RS, it feels a lot more free - you can do whatever. It would be extreme to compare it to a totalitarian government vs 'normal' government, but IMO that's the sort of thing, albeit on a much much smaller scale.
  22. I agree that it feels so incredibly different - but I disagree with you when you say it feels fake. To me, it feels free.
  23. TBH, I would talk to your dad and tell him that there are many other well-known - and better - AV's out there and he should use them instead.
  24. Your system specs are not amazing, but you should be able to play RS easily on lower settings with those. Are you playing in HD or SD? Try SD. Also need to know your graphics card. To find out: Device manager (theres a button on the side of that window you screenied) > Display adapter.
  25. Check your driver software. Some are possible, I think Realtek might be but just have a play around with it. If not, splitters are inexpensive; $3 at the very most.
