  1. Sandy bridge is the new 32nm architecture, noted i7-xxxx. Lynnfield is i7-8xx 45nm architecture. Gulftown is the i7-xxx hexacore processors. Bloomfield is the i7-9xx 45nm architecture. This is all on google/wikipedia.
  2. http://www.anandtech.com/show/5120/newegg-giving-15-discount-on-any-ocz-ssd this may help.
  3. Just a quick point about this, Apple puts DRM on their downloads, which is something you should definitely consider when buying from them more - if you ever decide to leave Apple then that may become a pain. It's not nice practice to stick DRM on music at all, either. False. iTunes hasn't had DRM on music for a years. Ah, I was under the impression they were, it wouldn't be surprising.
  4. You can plug both in at the same time, and have 2 drives show up (instead of just C: , you have C: AND D: for example) Of course. I've got one right now and it's working nicely. What Sbrideau said, basically. http://media.photobucket.com/image/recent/The_FalconO6/CurrentLogicalPCBuyingGuide/Guide.png this is not bad, I presume it's the guide you were using initially. Seagate? I've heard about problems with high failure rate with them. Maybe they've rectified that? Most aren't. Should be fine.
  5. Current guesses are anywhere from Q2-Q4 2012. Basically, don't bother waiting. Yep, looks good. Why the 2.5 SATA to USB though? SSD should be internal. There's no problem with those sealed liquid cooling systems. They're solidly build, and the warranty is very good and from what I've heard Antec is very happy to honour warranty if it leaks, so long as you haven't modded it or anything. As for that build, looks fine, but personally I would swap the Raidmax psu for a Corsair or Antec one. True, but $$/watt prices should go down soon enough. Also, if you only use like 300W of a 1000W PSU the efficiency drops. They can be a little more fiddly than air coolers, but they aren't so bad. In my opinion, no. 'Speed' and 'mechanical hard drive' don't go together. Either get an SSD and a 7200RPM drive, or a 7200RPM drive. Plus, the 10000RPM ones are still quite expensive.

  7. 700W is OTT for that, 500 or so should do.
  8. Do you have an administrator or standard account?
  9. Hmm.. I can't think of much off the top of my head, but try this: -> Start -> Run -> Type "cmd" without quotes -> Type "chkdsk /f" and let the program run. DO NOT INTERRUPT IT. The process could/will take a while Do any errors come up? If they do, are they fixed and do the programs work?
  10. There are people who offer these kinds of services on Craigslist AFAIK, also check local tech shops, but family-run ones/small businesses, not best buy etc.
  11. Um... I doubt this.. I doubt this very much. Printers do this, they're the most temperamental things.
  12. Is DCHP on? Does your router recognise it? To be honest, printers are all but black magic.
  13. Grats on crewbie, noob <3

  14. About swearing, there's also the idea that when you swear after hurting yourself/dropping something or similar, it's not a conscious decision but something hard-wired in our brain. This happens with any word, eg some people shout 'crap' while others may loudly say 'oh fiddle' or whatever.
  15. Out of curiosity, why have you gone with a left-handed holding of the gun rather than right-handed? It feels out of the way, hard to describe. I get what you mean, I can see more of the environment than normal proportional to the amount of space on the screen that the gun takes up. Having it on the left just messes my head because I'm so used to it being on the right :P

  17. Your specs should handle BF3 on high/medium settings, IMO.
  18. When you see deals at the supermarket for everyday household goods, eg. toilet paper, washing up liquid etc etc, or even food that doesn't go off/lasts for a long time, which are 2 for 1, 3 for 2 or x pieces for $x, exploit it. Buy up as much as you want then, and then you only have to buy household goods when there is a deal going on.
  19. You don't need to plug it in if you don't want to (I'm assuming you mean the front panel connector). The USB connectors are keyed, one pin is missing and on the wire connector there is no hole for a pin to go in, and from that you should figure out which header to plug it in to. Correct, those are the things that you have to plug the power supply in to. It doesn't really matter which SATA header you plug your hard drive in to.
  20. It should just be a clasp, similar to this [spoiler=Picceh]
  21. Broken link edit: If you're talking about a 6 pin plug on your PSU which you need to plug in to a 4 pin socket to the top left/right of your motherboard, it's not that. There should be a 4 pin socket connector, if not there is a 8 one that splits in half.
  22. I've used that exact psu in a build.. and if you mean this then it's just packaging..
  23. You do, but it comes preapplied? Can you confirm that you haven't wiped it off or something? The cx500 is the power supply, not sure what your question is there.
  24. Silica gel? The AMD cooler comes preapplied with thermal paste, which is gray.
  25. Be sure to sit behind your friends and jump on them during the really intense moments. I know a friend of mine is planning to do that to his gf, which will produce vast lulz.
