Adamant is NOT better than Torso
OKay, case closed. The other topic (torso < addy chain and whatever is better than chain too) was about the fact that if you DONT like BA, then torso isnt worht getting, EFFICIENCY wise.

Torso is NOT better then Adamant
Okay, but not in non-safe PVP. The situations where it is useful are mostly very scarce. In fact, with bandos plate available, I dont see any. (Yet, I dont own a bandos plate, so I use torso every now and then)

Torso is NOT better then Adamant
Look at the bolded things to see what I want to comment on. 1) This topic was pointed to people who HATE BA, yet they do the minigame for 5-10 hour straight to get this torso. They do it cause they think the +4 str will make a world of difference. Well, the OP said, you are better off not doing BA and training with an addy chain then... You will get more experience in the total time. (unless you train the time it takes to get 137M xp) However, IF you are having fun, or IF really really like hitting higher, despite wasting time to get it, then by all means, GET It. They are just saying, EFFICIENCY WISE, they are not worth getting. Fun is a hard factor to compare. If you have fun training combat with a bronze dagger, go on. It's not efficient, I'll say, but you will say: I know, but I have fun, and I can say nothing to counter that. 2) This is were you start talking nonsense. You are saying people with a torso will get less experience, yet finish a task on a shorter time cause they hit higher. Well, let me tell you this: experience = hits (1 hit = 4 xp when you dont train controlled). So how on earth can compare "hits" with combat experience, when they are the same. Let's say we both have 100 hours to waste. I get an addy chain and I go slaying. You get a torso first (=8h to get) and go slaying. I'll get more experience, thus more hits in. You will hit 1 higher (sometimes), but you will have less time to train (only 90 hours), so in the end I will have more experience (= total hits done). However, if you had fun getting the torso, and hitting 46 in stead of 45 once in a while, all right, good for you. We are just saying, efficiency wise, it isnt worth it. Not more, not less. Btw, I have a torso too, and I use it from time to time on slayer tasks when I use a bunyip. I also "loose" much time doing nothingin bank, etc etc... I do like to hit as high as I can, and I dont regret getting the torso. However, I do admit that MATHEMATICALLY, and EFFICIENCY WISE, it's not worth it. Is that that hard to understand?

Ahaha yeah, and sold goblin mail to the general store for 16 gp each. yea and brass necklaces :) loved those days :P well my fav mem might be when male and female armour was different from each other... ect. u had to speak with some guy in varrock so he could change the looks on the armour... actually rather anoying if someone gives u a female black pl8 and u have to go all the way to varrock to change it :P But female plates were looking so good. I remember how unelegant I found the rs2 female platebodies.

A Year of Summoning: A year in review.
I was waiting for your post :-). Very predictable, and pretty shortsighted IMO. You do have some points though: Ai is messy, action interruptions are annoying, and having to dismiss it when you enter GE is really annoying too. But those are only small nuisances compared to the benefits. and pulli: ever heard of the arctic bear (+7 hunter). Will surely help you catch a few more chins.

Ahaha yeah, and sold goblin mail to the general store for 16 gp each. Lol, my first money maker was killing "Man" at the back of the pub in varrock (next to sword shop). There also was a leather body spawn close there, which was worth 14 gp if I sold it to the general store! 300 Gp was hard work back then, which I invested in crap like a bronze full helm, bought in the general store. Oh my ... :D

Lol, I (well, not really, someone else) found out you seem to be wrong with your formula to decide how much percent +4 str raises your kiling rate (when hitting at 100%): It should be (4/120) / 2 * 100 which comes down to 1.6%. So I retreat what I said :D.
-
Torso is NOT better then Adamant
Seems you are right. It should be (4/120) /2 * 100 and thats 1.66%. For climbing boots it comes down to half that: 0.83% Dammit comp, you let me down :-)

What could've happened?
I don't think a kangaroo is as dangerous as a mammoth. It's rather hard to compare real world animals with ones that aren't existant. Maybe mammoths actually have some allergies to kangaroos that we never discovered, but I think a mammoth would win. Kangaroo as a high summoning familiar for fighting? Could it really be compared to the mythical dragons and great beasts of Runescape? I don't think it would be for fighting, probably as a beast of burden. That would have been nice, but we already have enough beasts of burden. Penance healer would probably outclass the bunyip for healing. I don't know about the unicorn stallion though, but maybe penance healers would be hard to make like phoenixes. It's just a healer though. Even though they're very powerful, I wouldn't want another one. Though I wonder how we would have unlocked them? Maybe you have to tame them in Barbarian Assault? That sounds like it would be a humorous quest. Skeletal wyverns sound like a great combat familiar. They're huge, undead, dragonlike, have deadly freezing breath, normally requires a shield to defend against certain death, and require a slayer level to kill! It wouldn't be that good of course... Could it? Maybe we'll get a skeleton wyvern later on, seeing as it did place in second. Hmmm, a Griffin? Sounds like a "mount" of some type. Not good... Maybe you could ride it as teleportation or something. I don't imagine it being a good combat familiar though. We have lots of teleportation anyway, I'd rather have an awesome phoenix than a new method of transport. Killerwatt, giant kebbit, and giant mole... They don't sound good at all. Maybe the killerwatt could give seizures to the foe or something. The giant kebbit could hide in bushes for a sneak attack (oh my)! The giant mole could just burrow around to escape... Not exactly a nice trait for a loyal helper. Maybe you can hide in the hole, go to a whole underground network, teleport a small distance! Yeah, all three sound unlikely, unless those were implimented, it doesn't sound that great of a familiar. Wolterpinger is small and strong...

He did ALL his calculations with above average combat stats. So it's not like you're comparing apples to pears, are you.

Firemaking, not a newb 99

Torso is NOT better then Adamant
Totally agree, but with one thing: "If you happen to have one, drop it, it's a waste of bank space". On non multi tasks, where a bunyip heals me enough, I wear it since barrows plate is overkill. Okay, I could wear prossy top and piety, but I either dont use prayer, or I flash piety, so prayer bonus is insignificant. *Waits for you to say: "Using no piety, or at least 10 % strength is very inefficient if you make x amount of money per hour" , which is true...

Cant argue with comp, ydrasil. When he says something, he's 100 % right :-).

Firemaking, not a newb 99
So everyone just ignored my numbers? I had just proven that mostly all non combat skills besides farming, rcing and MINING, yes mining! are mostly gotten for the cape. That's why you wont see me getting any of those. The only non combat skills I'd consider getting 99 is crafting or smithing. Crafting has been my highest skill for a long time, I was top 2k with 70 crafting like 4 years ago, so I've got some personal band with it :-). Also, I like how there's so many ways to train it. Most of those nooby hunters just go out and buy out all green d'hides. In fact, there are much more other ways to train. And I will use those. Smithing has a bit of the same nostalgic reason, and with sc hammers, it'll be reasonably fun too. Compared to crafting, it's pretty straightforward though (addy bars all the way). And Troacctid, you HAVE to make generalizations to make a point. You really cant factor in every individual. Also, for me, the number of people with 99s is mostly a strong indicator of wether the skills is massively trained for easy 99s (cooking, flethcing), or not. Combat 99s are an exception here. As you can see, the lvl 85s with 1100 skill total dont have enough knowledge of the game to know that thieving is an easy 99. So they go with what they know: cooking, flethcing or thieving. And seriously, if you'd make statistics of the people with 99 flethcing, cooking, or firemaking, you'll come out mostly with people with low total lvls = newbs. I cant prove this, but i'm 99% sure you will (based on ingame experience, and forum sigs).

Firemaking, not a newb 99
I must admit, I dont know it myself either. This topic has been very interesting for me to find out where my despise comes from, and I can only try and explain it, which I tried. But now, I've gotten facts, you know, numbers. I looked up the amount of people that have a 99 in some skills. The skills were: Firemaking Cooking Herblore Magic Ranged Slayer Farming Agility Mining Smithing Fletching Attack I might do the others too. Then I divided the number of people with 99 by three. (so, 15k firemakers, that makes 5k). I looked up that rank and compared it. Firemaking: Top 5k = 13.3M xp Cooking: 13.45M xp Herblore: 13.6M xp Magic: 14.3M xp Ranged: 15.7M xp Slayer: 14.6M xp Farming: 14.5M xp Agility: 13.36M xp Mining: 14.2M xp Smithing: 13.39M xp Fletching: 13.39M xp Attack: 15.8M xp Thieving: 13.5M xp Construction: 13.2M xp Runecrafting: 15.6M xp ... Take a look at slayer, farming, mining, magic, ranged, attack, rcing herblore (pretty high for such an expensive skill).

Firemaking, not a newb 99
Thats highly ignorant, it is still a 99, a 99 that you have yet to achieve. Total level/combat level doesn't reflect the maturity of the person. It's not ignorant. It means even a really unexperienced guy can get it. What are you talking about maturity?

Armadyl!?!
Dont get bandos, dont get Arma. Both not really worth it. On the other hand, you can just sell them if you dont like it, so no money lost.

Your least favourite update of 2008.
I'm 90 summoning myself and I do agree the AI needs to be improved badly. Also, the bug where it dissapears (when kiling jade vine, phoenix, bork, ...) has been out so long and still hasnt been fixed. Lastly, when your familiar appears, everything you do is stopped, which is very annoying too. Just a few things, which are (besides the AI) very easy to fix probably, would make it soo much better.

Funniest Names
Someone on the forum here is called "nucking futs". Also, a while ago, someone with the name Raindeer Poo got banned by Jagex cause of his "abusive" name.
