Firemaking, not a newb 99
You can see that in every skill. It isn't unique to firemaking at all. Look up magic, ranged, attack, defence, strength, hp, prayer, slayer, farming. (last ones perhaps not that much).

How many 99s with 15m?
Basic equip: Whip, Black mask and full rune. Within a few tasks you can buy verac skirt and dh plate or whatever. Rune defender is "free". You'll make enough money for super sets and prayer pots too. Of course, pietying is out, but besides that. Slaying with 2M is very possible.

What you want your Rs Character to achieve in the next year!
So many stress on 99s :o. They're not the end of the world you know. I thought I would stop after 90 summoning and 90 melees, but somehow I'm starting to grow interest in raising summoning even higher. A packyak or steel titan sounds very nice. Also 80 + on al skills would be pretty nice. I'll need 72-80 agility 72-80 hunter 76-80 rcing 71-80 construction We'll see. Before, My resolutions were to stop the mindless raising of skills and start doing "fun" things. Get better in pvp, do more cwars, other minigames, GWD, etc...

Firemaking, not a newb 99
Nice summarizing. For me its mostly the last option of option 2. Also, for me personally this is coupled with the fact that it's boring (well, most people think it is), so that strongly suggests that (most) people just get it for the cape. Another argument you could throw in, is that it's dead simple. There are like 4 options to train it: Maples, Eucs, Yews, and magics. Once you've bought them, it's just spending away. With, say, herblore, you actually need to calc out which pot is best to train on, factoring in wether it's easily sellable, the xp/h rate you get, etc... On the other hand, some other buyables are also dead simple (but require more money).

Try logging out and in. Yep, happens a lot, and is very annoying. I have it frequently when fighting the jade vine. Summoning's been out for a year now, and they still havent fixed it.

How many 99s with 15m?
99 smithing for 25m? :o how? Stealing Creation hammers. Only really worth it if you like the minigame, but my friend went from 73 to 92 in a few days and lost about 13m, so I'm assuming it costs about 25. 73-92 isnt half way, 1-92 is, so it would be more than 25m. Plus he only has 15m to work with making smithing to 99 unreachable. So? Assume our guy here as 70 smithing. This means he can get like 93 smithing with his money. That's very good. Why do you need this 99 so bad.

Combined with bork that's awesome :D Not really. Bork is alot more xp, it's actually worth the walk there each day. With this, i'm not sure. 5 quills a day = big wow :| Can you really be bothered fighting your way through the monsters each day? O/T - will the new monsters be slayer tasks? Dont you get the firemaking and flethcing xp each day too?

So you can get , 3k flethcing, 500 slayer xp, 7.5k firemaking xp EACH DAY for free? that's nice.

Firemaking, not a newb 99
I like how you try to analyse the whole thing Shalaj, but for me personally, it's the reason behind it. When I was a lvl 85, I didnt feel the urge to spend hours and hours burning trees, or cooking fish. Now, with those skillcapes, every lvl 85 with at least a few mill, somehow feels the urge to get a 99 for this "uber" skillcape. That annoys me. Do I have a objective reason for it? No, it's just personal. Let come what comes. It took me 5 years for a 99. So yes, I somehow get annoyed by people that play not the way I do, sorry for that. Can't hide my feelings, can I.

Firemaking, not a newb 99
Yet, none of the people who list firemaking as a so-called "n00b" 99 mention thieving, which is faster and cheaper to get to 99 than firemaking (burning maples). If the criteria are as you've stated, firemaking is definitely less n00by than thieving, and you don't see people bashing thieving capes. Even if firemaking is so bad, it's still a good 85 hours of training, not including the time it takes to get the cash. If the time-value is what counts, then for someone who can make 300k gp/hr, a firemaking cape should, in theory, be equally as n00by as a set of full dragon, as they would take about the same amount of time to acquire, and neither has practical value in gameplay aside from appearance. It's pretty strange, but most skill cape hunters (you know what I mean, or not?) go for 99 cooking, flethcing or firemaking. The moment I see a lot of lvl 85s with thieving capes, I'm considering it noob too. And amen to Alphakoldes. "If you care so much about what other people think about it, you got it for the wrong reasons".

Your Opinion?
All round ftw. Skill capes are overrated. Get them "naturally".

Firemaking, not a newb 99
Troacctid: I tried so hard not mentioning any skills in the number 2) part. If someone likes 99 firemaking and gets it 99, then I have no problems with it. I never said the second option was inherent to any skills. It could be any skill. That's what I'm trying to say: it's mostly the attitude that's behind the 99 that annoys people. And YES, I know not ALL of you 99 cookers and fletchers/firemakers are noobs that just got it for their quick first 99. I'm saying MOST of them are. Cant deny that.

SC armour?

How many 99s with 15m?
Lol, we've had this discussion before, remember? Anyway, I do get where you're coming from. Still, if you want to be exact, you are wrong. Blatantly wrong. Actually, your advice is: Use your kingdom. That's it. Besides that you said what? Use the supplies from your kingdom? Okay. Though, and that's where it goes "wrong". Sometimes, you are better off selling your supplies from your kingdom, and buying something ELSE that gives you even more efficient lvling (less money, less time, more xp).

The Godsword is the Highest Level Player Made Item
What's with them? You need a high lvl to attach the sigils to it and whatever. However, collecting the sigils and spirit shields itself is through combat. Btw, godswords also need a (high?) smithing lvl to attack hilt to blade. This is not what the poster is talking about.

Firemaking, not a newb 99
It may be easy in "game" terms, but ask your wrist the same question  You'll find that most people who bash the firemaking skillcape, or skill for that matter, haven't got it, or have never had the motivation to do it, because they're just no fun >_> It takes patience, and also motivation to train a skill like firemaking to a high level; that's why I really despise people who hate it, but can't back it up with hard evidence. Who cares if it's a money burner? Maybe I've got a little money to spare 8-) The bolded statement never happened to me when I got 99 fm... Yes firemaking is a money burner, I literally killed my bank with firemaking...DANG PROUD OF THAT TOO! Grats on killing your bank on a stupid 99. Btw, first you say you wanted it just for the cape. Then you say its a "great" skill, yet you cant be bothered to save 16m and train it slower (I'd think if you like it, you like to train it slowly, so you enjoy it more...). And Ladycai, a 99 is not a 99. There's: 1) I got this lvl 99 (fletching, cooking, firemaking, ...) cause I just wanted a skill cape as fast as possible (without spending too much). I dont like those skills, I just grinded through them for my cape. Now I'm 99 I never touched it ever since. 2) I like this skill alot. Since I like it, I train it alot, and eventually, I got 99.
