range training from 83 - 99?
I heard (from compfreak) spiders are very good. 65k xp an hour at 90 + ranged and afk. Or you could do yaks (never done em myself), or aviansies (good profit + decent xp), or ... . A lot of choices.

first skill cape
I'd say, do the skill you like. Dont go for a 99 just for the sake of having it. It will be very boring. If you dont like any skills (or get bored quickly, like me), at least do skill that brings in some money. I'm talking about hunting, fishing, woodcutting, runecrafting, slayer, combat, ranged (if you dont chin), ... . Like toracctid suggested, thieving is a quick, cheap, yet respected 99.

Was wondering about that too when I read the previous reply. Might be new herbs and potions :o. Or ... EDIT: check farming guide: White lily: protects all fruit and vegetables from disease.

I must say I'm pretty dissapointed in the rewards. They are nowhere near as usefull as the previous ones.

While Guthix Sleeps secret requirement
on topic: getting access to the warrior guild is one of the requirements for the quest. I guess that while getting 85 attack you just got access to the warrior's guild. (is your strength lvl 65? (if the req for warriors guild is 150 att + str, which I'm not sure of)). EDIT: its 89 lol, just saw it. Strange.

Is it worth it to pay a farmer to watch Yews?
Remember, though, it's not just the time spent in-game, it's the growing time. A yew tree takes what, 6 hours or so to grow? The actual time isn't just the 48 in-game minutes, the extra 40 yew trees from your example require 9 (10 if unlucky) additional growing cycles to get the XP from 40 yew trees. If you happen to catch the farming clock exactly right every time, you're looking at waiting an extra 2 and a half days or so, playing 24 hours a day (or at least setting an alarm to catch them as soon as they grow). Realistically, this time would be a week or possibly a lot more for a player like me who is a bit more casual, and doesn't play every day. So it really depends on several factors. I personally always pay for trees, because I very rarely plant them, and can't be bothered and often don't have time to check in regularly to chop and replant them. So I want to maximize the XP that I get from planting them, and the opportunity cost is totally worth it to me. It would also be worth it to me if I was going to use yew trees to get to 99 farming, because even no-lifing you'd get it a few weeks earlier by paying for all the trees. But if you are just planting trees to gain a level or 2 every now and then, the time saved is probably minimal enough so as not to be worth it, unless you are REALLY into speed. 99 is already expensiv enough. Paying an extra 30k on top of the 60k per 7k xp is a bit over the top IMO. And it might take "weeks" of extra REAL time (which I doubth tbh), the in game time shouldnt be that much different (You loose what, 2 minutes when replacing your dead tree by a new one).

Grasping the game..
I like to read lots of guides before I try things out. Heck, even when I was f2p, I was reading guides on how to kill p2p monsters, just out of interest. Before even going to GWD (I had quit for a while when it came out) I knew what was there, and how you beat the monsters, etc etc... Of course, my first trip was still not as it should be, as there is still a huge difference between theory and practice :-). So for me, it doesnt really apply.

Lowest known level to have completed while guthix sleeps?
Was the balanced elemental fixed after the first day? I did the quest the day it came out, and like I said, It was too easy to be true. I wore Karils, put up protect from melee, and dds speced + whip. I had some good hits in (few 35's with whip, decent dds specs). Ate one shark in the mean time. After he was dead I ate another one to top of my health for the next fight (which was needless, I realised). I didnt switch any weapons (well dds to whip) and didnt switch any prayers. Was I lucky or ...

Is it worth it to pay a farmer to watch Yews?
yes, and SELL those cacti. Seriously, it's not because you got them yoruself, that it's suddenly good to WASTE them on yew trees. By not selling, you are losing on a lot of profit. Yes, it seems like you're not losing anything, since you get them yourself, but trust me, you are. I'm getting pretty sick of the misconceptions about this, that show up in about every thread. (example: MTK, "I get my seeds through MTK for free" NOT!!). You make a good point but 7k exp, in my eyes, is something that I would not want to waste. Especially if you can get that 7k exp once or twice a day depending on when you play. Maybe that's just me.. In a sense you are paying the price of a cactus seed instead of 33k for the payment, which is a huge decrease and well worth it. So are you losing out on a bit of money, absolutely. However, you are also spending money to gain exp, and isn't that what you are suppose to do with buyable skills? No, you are still paying the full 33k, no matter how you gotten the cacti. And yes, buyable skills should be bought (lol?), however, anyone who doesnt want to minimize the money spent is either an idiot, or way too rich.

Dragon Claws
Because people CAN get them from the GE due to coinshared drops. Something worth 600k that's as powerful spec wise as the ags is classed as overpowered by a lot of people. the chance to get them from the GE is minimal, seriously. The price tag isnt the reason why people complain it's overpowered. The reason they complain is that, IF you get lucky with the spec, you are dead, instantly. Period. (sorry soma, but most people dont wear divine shields in pvp, and constantly top off their hp to 115, and have shark and tuna tater ready to instantly eat). Since most people dont post their junk specs, people think you get those insanely high specs everytime. Difference with ags then is that it's max is a lil higher, and it can do 2 specs in the time ags does one spec. Ags on the other hand seems to be more accurate, from what I hear.

Lowest known level to have completed while guthix sleeps?
boss wise the quest was a walk in the park. I ate ONE, yes ONE shark during the boss fight. If a lvl 42 can do DT, a lvl 85 can do this quest for sure. Even with 99 or whatever summoning.

Is it worth it to pay a farmer to watch Yews?
paying for most trees isnt worth it, since dieing rate with super compost is 1/10. There was a guide about this somewhereo n this forum.

He's right. I use my unicorn, and pineapple pizzas and strawberries. Yes strawberries. You have enough time in between kills to heal up with them.

Upcoming update to Stealing Creation
They said the tools will degrade faster. That's why I'm puzzled wether I should use mine ore not. Longer lasting tools, giving less xp, or shorter lasting tools giving more xp. It's also not known wether tools will be harder to get after the update. If you need like 3 games worth of points to get on tool that only lasts 10 minutes, it's not worth it. Even if you can get 1 tool per game, and a tool lasts 10 minutes, I think it' still beter to use your tools now. (50 % more xp in most cases, and lasting about 60 mintues (for smithing), compared to 100 % more xp lasting 10 minutes).

Dragon Claws
I think that's just a rumor. It couldn't possibly be true... Could it, COULD IT?! It's certainly possible. Jagex nerfs things like that all the time. When you say "nerf" you make it sound like a negative thing. "Fix" is the right word to use here. Wait, what? You call something going from.. lets say... Rare to common a "fix" and no that item being "nerfed" Or something going from an almighty 2hko (yes, I did see the above post by Brianite I just thought I'd throw it in) weapon to something that never hits? Or something going from a rare drop to something as common as muck? That's not a "fix" that's called the item being "nerfed by Jagex". This weapon isn't like the other dragon weapons it's the complete opposite. It's actually VERY GOOD! This can't be purchased in the shops like the other dragon weapons. [/hide] It's overpowered. The thing can get anyone down from max hp to 0 before they can eat more than once. It's not like you need skill to pull it off either. Yes, it could be classed as overpowered for some. But it's a Great weapon. It's a rare weapon. It's expensive for a reason. No one wants Jagex to come and "work there magic" on this item. That's the worst arguement I've ever seen. You admit it's overpowered and to justifie it you say: "it's a great weapon". Lol? The fact that it's rare and expensive has nothing to do wether it is too overpowered or not. (which I dont think it is, reading the reply's from other people). And yes, there are people that want Jagex to do their magic. (not me).

There has been a topic about this before. Anyway, a lvl 50 could do it... However, you need lvl 85 for dream mentor, so 85 is lowest. /thread

My guide to cannoning yaks amazing way to train
I still think using grey chins at ape atoll is better. I'm getting 260-270k xp/h, spending 550k.

Grey Chin Questions
Allright, this is my thing, I've just gotten 99 ranged, testing out grey and red chins. I'll start with the conclusion: Grey chins are better, unless you can make 2.5M in 3 hours (with grey chins at 350 each, red chins at 650 each, ppots (4) 8k each). I am wearing full void, fury, ranger boots, ring of life, guthix cloak, zammy book, grey chins. 80 prayer, holy wrench. I start the trip with a loaded tortoise (totallin 33 ppots) and I bring 1 extra tortoise pouch + 2 geyser titan pouches. Tests were at 94-98 ranged. 1) You use 14 ppots an hour using protect melee AND 15% prayer. Yes, use 15 % prayer, it is worth it, I've tried both 10 % and 15%, the extra xp (which is actually close to 5 %) covers the extra costs of pray pots (which is minimal). 2) Xp per red chin: 255 3) Xp per grey chin: 200-210 (had pretty varying results) 4) Chins/h: 1200-1350 (in the times I used less chins, I mostly got more xp per chin) 5) Use full void! So 20k grey chins will be around 4M ranged xp. 12k red chins will be around 3M ranged xp. I actually might make a guide about this. I've got a full excell spread sheet about it + I've taken some pictures. I reallly dont get how people are only getting 120 xp per chin.

Tormented Demon Drop Changes - (04-December-2008)
Just went there, they are not harder to kill as before. At least not if you fight them face to face like I do. (I can still stay there for 2 hours with unicorn). so again, in a big font: They are right the same to kill as before, as long as you dont use safespot and prayer switch like you should! Drops are rarer now though. I agree, i killed them face to face, so nothing has changed for me. They need beeing up def wise, damage wise and maybe make them switch attacks more often. Probably the only way to really make them tougher. Congratulations on telling us the obvious in huge font! It says DROPS ARE RARER and they will attack you better in a safespot. I dont know what they were doing before, but I saw people using range and corner hopping. They are now harder in that aspect. No where does it say their armor is beefed up or their attacks are stronger... Erm, for some people, it didn't seem that obvious. There are SEVERAL people in this thread who said: Hmm, good that DRAGON CLAWS are harder to get now. Or "good, demons were way too easy to defeat" (they still are!).

Nice. If you are alching for 99 magic 3/10. If you are doing something smarter 6/10. Non combs are horrible though, really horrible :D
