  1. Sometimes the way someone WANTS to spend their life isn't healthy. Not working and spending those 8/9/10 hours you'd work playing a game is not healthy, period. Being healthy is eating healthy, going to the gym and/or doing Multiple sports, have a girl/boyfriend, have a lot of social contacts etc. Sad but true is 95% of the top players do not have anything mentioned of the above. Might still be good for them to do what they want, does not mean it's healthy. I agreed with the first sentence, but stopped when you started to describe the stereotypic life as the standard. Healthy in my opinion is a good mix of everything, and having a balanced life. When you play 10h a day, this mostly isn't the case, but there can be exceptions. But by all means, please don't tell everyone to go to the gym, frantically find a girlfriend, doing *multiple* sports, having *lots* of social contacts. Damn, you are giving everyone a lot of pressure... Sad but true is 95% of the world doesn't have this healthy life you described.
  2. Well put, even though I'm not a big fan of agility. I have more fun trying to get maximum xp rates, and looking up info about it, calculating etc. than just watching my character cut ivy. Maybe you find calculating stuff stressful, Aasiwat, I actually like doing this kind of stuff before/during I start training it
  3. Then you're missing the point of GP in/GP out. I'm assuming that these items in this fictional rs economy are obtained via player interaction, not NPC trading. When you say GP left you mean GP left per person, but that doesn't matter in terms of inflation as much as you'd think. As long as the money remains in the game, and is not destroyed somehow the items will have no effect on inflation. I'm not talking about GP in/out, OF COURSE this has an effect, and the biggest one. I just wanted to say that high value items entering the game at a quick pace, might have an effect, that's all. I never said this effect is more important than the GP in/out balance
  4. I'm getting sick of these efficiency debates. Golvellius, just accept some people like the feeling of knowing that what they are doing is the fastest way to lvl up, live with it. This doesn't mean Grimy or XPX, or whoever cares a bit about efficiency, is never just chilling online, or that they're constantly calc'ing out how much money they are losing by standing still at the GE. It just means that whenever they are really setting a goal for themselves, they like to get it the easiest/fastest way. Stop portretting them as robots.
  5. Aspeeder, my point was that a massive increase of items with high value would mean an overal deflation, since less money is available per item on a average. Let me give you a simplified example Situation A There is 1000 gp in the economy There are 100 items in the economy => on average, each item costs 10 gp Situation B There is 1000 gp in the economy There are 100 items in the economy 10 new items are added, they cost 30gp each => 700gp left to be distributed over 100 items => on average, each item (besides the new ones) costs 7 gp I know runescape's economy is a bit more complicated (no static amount of money, no static amount of items), but I think the basic concept still applies.
  6. More items with high value = overal deflation. The money has got to come from somewhere, right? Also, Emerson says that DG puts people away from doing money generating activities, but I can say just about the same of item generating activities (monsterhunting). (ie: more people dg, less people do GWD => prices go up) You're confusing inflation with a few items increasing in value. If items come out that are high value that does not necessarily mean deflation will occur unless money is taken out of the game via NPC trading, if it's just player-player trading then no deflation will occur. Also the increase of GWD armor price would have to do with the supply curve shifting to the left, nothing to do with inflation. ECONOMICS :-o Uhm, if there is a set amount of money, an increase in items (addition of high end high value items) would mean each item must cost less. (on average) I know, the most important thing to look at is the GP in/GP out balance, but I do think items from monster hunting can have an effect.
  7. I think he has troubles with the "hard math" that goes behind it. You know, finding out how much xp between 71-88. Then multiplying that number with the gp/xp figures he gets at Grimy's spreadsheets. Ain't easy to be dumb :(
  8. More items with high value = overal deflation. The money has got to come from somewhere, right? Also, Emerson says that DG puts people away from doing money generating activities, but I can say just about the same of item generating activities (monsterhunting). (ie: more people dg, less people do GWD => prices go up)
  9. I get 130k an hour with maxed void (Deflector) and a whip, dds, super set, piety, and an iron titan. I doubt that C Rapier, steel titan, extremes, spec restore, turmoil, and dragon defender (New maxed void?) is only a 18k tokkul increase, I'm sure you can top 160/170k with that setup? Either you're lying or I'm somehow doing something terribly wrong. I'm using spec restores, summoning pots, extremes, dds, chaotic rapier, steel titan, turmoil and even have berserker (i). I'd like to see a clip of the way you're doing it if you wouldn't mind. :geek: Dunno if this is the best way, but I like to have my steel titan to be constantly getting new monsters to me, speccing them once or twice while he's at it. This way you basically don't have to move yourself. A bit unrelated but still: Why don't you bank the obby charms? As long as you have less obby charms than blues, you are basically leaving 12k on the floor, each time you get a drop. (water tallies being over 6k each, and lava titan giving slightly less xp compared to geysers). I rake over 250 charms an hour this way, being equivalent to 1.5m
  10. 300-400M. Will take a while though since they can only update twice(?) a month. Why? If they really get into circulation (ge price = real price), I could see them updating quite a bit more
  11. I haven't found any fb pages about it. Maybe this one guy just pmed the other guy, dunno.
  12. But what about previous pictures? If they really follow the picture thread, they could have quite a few of them by now.
  13. So this guy on RS pmed me, asking if my real name is <insert name>. He then tells me this guy (<insert name>) is on facebook and trying to trade my acc (bedman) for his account. I say I'm not that guy of course, and I look up the guy he told me about on facebook. He either spellt it wrong, or he was lieing cause I couldn't find the exact name he told me. Next, he asks me whether I'm rich, cause the guy is providing a picture of my account with green partyhat and 3rd age robes. Now I happen to have taken a picture with such an outfit, and I might have actually posted it too here on the picture thread of the general discussion board. Should I be concerned? What can/should I do about this? I hope Jagex thinks twice if they see some advertisement of my account being on sale with that picture...
  14. It's exactly the same as for all other trapping, click once/twice under the trap you want to go to next as you are finishing setting up a current trap. Thanks, I never really got into hunter so I don't really know the basic tricks.
  15. Any tips on the click timing after laying a trap? I always end up running north of my trap, while the guy in the vid somehow manages to run anywhere he wants.
  16. I can most certainly deny this 150k/hr with horns nonsense. That would be 75k/hr regular. Thats a stretch. If you would have said 65k/hr I might believe it, since I don't drop and get about 50-55k/hr... Just going to mention, 98 mining here, and heating / dropping, is ~75k mining an hour. Juju mining potions, so i can catch up on the heating / dropping from the doubles i get before the stone spirit arrives, no mousekeys. This is without Varrock chest, too, i wouldn't doubt people that claim ~80k at 99, but that would be with good luck in regards to not having the gold nodes down. For anyone wondering, Draconics at 98 are 200k+, and that was with 2 pieces of witchdoctor. 220k xp/h at 99 is possible without zammy favors [which are worth getting btw, I'll post the reasoning + maths if someone wants]. Tell me more about draconics please :-)
  17. Care to explain how you pull that off? Right now I'm doing Igneous + Pungent, and the xp is worse (haven't timed it yet, but its certainly not 175k). Only 81 hunt here though.
  18. Based on what? >_> Why would a new defender increase the demand for an item when defenders already existed as well as better alternative weaponry? I guess he has invested in whips...
  19. Turn in all those long/curved bones during next xp weekend and you'll have a nice ammount of construction xp. That's what I'm planning too :-) Got 7 skulls now, around 400 of each bone.
  20. Don't forget that you get 9 pineapples with an ent + 2k on average per seed from scroll of life effect. Combine this with some smart buying/selling, and you can get far lower losses. (I bought papaya seeds for 33k, when they dipped, sold all my papayas before xp weekend at 2.8k each). I also like the fact I can get 4/5th of the protection during my farming run (from Del Monte) and actually getting an end product that's worth something (papaya) + you are actually happy when scroll of life activates (40k vs 10k)
  21. Zhowsurfer, you claim the price manipulation is the best way to make money, but for anyone but SUOMI, who would sell early, you would have to get rid of 1B+ of junk. I'd rather take 200m a month, than getting involved in all this tedious junk trading.
  22. It just seems very stupid to do willows, seeing there are so many better alternatives.
  23. Herb seeds from slayer are profit from slayer. Herbs from farming are profit from farming. Herblore xp from making pots is a loss from herblore. Combining any of these doesn't make it more effective or efficient(furthermore as it's so easy to buy/sell items). If you have cash, make some higher level potions for ~20 gp/xp. If you don't have cash, clean herbs or make barbarian mixes, but know it'll take tons more time. Exactly what i wanted to point out. It's actually not very smart to make pots of the herbs you farm, because mostly the most profitable herb to farm, isn't the best herb for cheap herblore xp. Okay, it may SEEM less costly, because you are always working with small amounts, but trust me, you're better of maximising the seperate steps (= farming most profitable herb, making best pots)
