This time I agree with you :-) But guys, let's get back on topic, and discuss bronze dagger vs. rapier cause it's really essential that we come to a consensus about these 2 closely matching weapons. I'm really clueless about which one to pick. I'm thinking the dagger would be awesome to hybrid with the super overpowered sling, but a rapier is good for slaying waterfiends, I heard.

Are you sure that one players leeches work for the overall defense of the monster? I'm not sure that is true, otherwise mass corp would be a joke(20 people- starts at 12,5% def, down to 0,3% with full leech). on topic- yes, piety is always better than leeches. I think so, but it doesn't stack.

<Personal attack removed. Report, don't reply. Laikrob> PS: Thread is maxing out soon, I'll make another one later today. Anything I should add in the first post to make it more clear? I think the first post right now is kinda out-dated.

Excellent guide so far. Keep up the good work.

Pls L2Read. I said the Str Bonus comes close. The speed also comes close. Did I say they were exactly like Knives? No, I did not. Nice try. Did I say bronze dagger was exactly the same as a chaotic rapier? No I did not, so let's make a topic to compare bronze dagger with chaotic rapier!

Yes, it's impossible. No one has completed the quest so far

I didn't really care before I got 99's. However, after I got 99 summoning, I ended up at rank 590, and now I'm kinda keen on staying under rank 1000 (rank 1100+ atm, but I've got 3m+ summoning xp banked). Same goes for herblore, I used to be under rank 2k.

I've sold my sgs a few months ago, and I don't think I will be getting it back, even though you do make a point. The main reason for me is the extra risk involved, since I would be mainly using it at dk's. With chaotics, you really don't wanna risk your chaotic, so every high value item has to be chosen carefully, and if an EEE is nearly as good and doesn't make you give up high value item spot, I will go for that one. Only other place I found it useful, was waterfiend tasks, but even that got kinda unneeded with soul split. I used to bring claws my last few tasks, but once I get EEE I think I will bring that one to offset my overload damage. Claws weren't hitting good enough for my liking;

Back, and awake now. Right now, I'm slaying (97-99) for effigies too and I've been wondering too about what to block and what not. (can somebody link me to dunou's effigy log? I can't find it on RSOF) First of all, I'd like to point out that waterfiends are actually dropping effigies pretty often for me. Maybe I'm lucky, but I seem to get one every other task or so (I think I've had 3 so far out of around 20 effigies I've gotten). Also, Zarfot, our slayer god, is doing them too, which is always a good sign (though he's going for 200m summ too so yeah...). Maybe you should do familiarisation once a week to make waterfiends more interesting? You can do it always at the same time and claim your reward when you have a waterfiend task. Personally, I'm not skipping abby demons either. Okay, they are not a very good effigy dropper, but the mix of charms, profit (drops + no cannon) and easyness makes them too good to skip IMO. You can bring spec restores and dclaws to make it more interesting. Nechs: They used to be one of my favorite tasks before I was 99 summoning. Good charms, good common drops (seeds, rune boots) and you can do a quick bork visit while you are there. Now, since I'm 99 summoning and the effigy update, they've lost some of their appeal, but I'm still doing them cause this is the place where my titan shines, and all spawns are very close to each other. Terror dogs: Haven't had these in a while, and I think last time I had them, I skipped them cause I wasn't in the mood. However, they are a 10 minute task if you bring a steel titan, so if you don't mind, just do them for quick points. Don't count to get effigies on them though, and xp/h doesnt really matter since the task is so small (but it is over 35k I believe) Tzhaar: I mostly do the normal tzhaars and collect obby charms. Seeing water tallies are 7k each, you could argue that each obby charm is worth nearly 7k, which would make it a very good money maker (combined with token drops and onyx tips). You tear through them with your rapier and steel titan (full invo of charms before your overload runs out). I've done the Jad task 2 times too so far, but right now I need obby charms, so I stopped doing him I've been skipping dust devils and wyverns since the effigy update, but I used to do them normally, especially dust devils. Maybe I'll do dust devils next time when I feel like it. They're only a 30 min task so yeah. I find wyverns personally pretty annoying, having to collect the bones while being attacked from across the room (kinda like frost dragons and why I don't like these either) + I often missclick on them. I did get a visage of them though :-) Blue drags: I skip those lately, but I just read Zarfot does them, and so do you, so maybe I should do them. Do you have an effigy rate and kill rate? I would do them in Kura's dungeon, but I'm slightly biased towards fero ring and no cannon (vs. cannon and no ring) Gargoyles: I actually do them, but again, this is because of fero rings. I find the fero ring effect too good to give up + with the autohammer, gargoyles have become pretty relaxing/fun. Basically the same reason why I do abbies actually. Hellhounds: They are still on my blocklist from when they were uncannonnable. I'm not sure on whether to unlock them again or not. I heard the spawns are pretty far apart and effigy rate isn't superbe either.

I thought getting jugs was the problem :o

Battlestaves are perfect for crafting. Air bstaves are 280k xp/h and only 2-3 gp/xp. Just have an offer in the ge at all times, and craft whenever you get some (normally 664 a day). If you are impatient, ask friends to put offers too. For fletching: the broad arrows are useless, so you have to count on a 100% loss when making them. Still, it is only 4-6 gp/xp, incredibely fast, and there is a make 10 option, so it's not click intensive. Rest: Jettrider has commented already pretty well onthose

Interesting, I'm kinda in the same situation. I might reply later tomorrow, I'm really tired now -.-
-
Do herblore anyway. With overloads its insanely fast.

IMO, there are a few parameters that are important: Slay xp Effigies Charms elite clues drops fun Most of the slayer monsters are a trade of between those parameters, except for a few exceptions (ice wyrms top notch at EVERY parameter). So basically it all comes down to where you lie your priorities. I used to like waterfiends for instance before I was 99 summoning, cause of the awesome charms. Since I've gotten 99 summoning, they've gotten less interesting for me, but I do them nonetheless because they are decent effigy droppers, and I still like to collect crimsons.

Ice barraging rex works is worth it? -
I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that I was doing other useless stuff when I retired from Runescape a few years ago.

How would the new currencies fit with the fixed ge prices? Will it be some system as with repairing your rapier, where you either pay cash up front, or special currency + less gp. You do realise that people will just analyse which option is better and completely dismiss the other option? Another question I'd like to bring up is on how the prices would fluctuate. Will the gp/special currency ratio stay the same, or fluctuate? On what basis will it fluctuate? I really can't see Jagex making this right. In fact, they would probably completely screw it over, looking back at their past experience of dealing with the market.

So you want people to force to ask trading sticks for their partyhats, or you only want to introduce this for shop items? If just for shop items, I can see it working, cause nobody actually buys shop items frequently. It would be cool to make this new quest item a little harder to obtain than just dishing out 100k gold. Other than that, I think it's a terrible idea.

I thought I would quit when I would go to college. Well, guess what. After a while you realise you just spend time on other crap. I'm not particularly happy I started playing again after starting college, but in the end, you just do whatever you want at that moment, which is playing rs right now. -
He can try curries too. 280 xp a pop. And fletching broad arrows is not a lot of clicking. It's done by "make 10". Very easy, and easily 400k + xp /h
-
What is it good for? Okay, if you like cooking, by all means, do it. But I think there are a lot of lvl 90s that are just grinding through cook/fletch to get their 99.
-
What I thought. I would just think that either an all out accuracy outfit or an all out str outfit would be best. Have you tested any of these (allthough it would be difficult with such small differences, look at Qeltar"s tests)

Pantim, have you even barrowed lately? If you get like 5 kc, the runes you get WILL pay your runes for maging, unless you barrage all brothers or something. So it's nearly impossible to lose money. Also, the drop rates haven't been nerfed as far as I know, and the most expensive item has never been more expensive (DH helm at 10m). I admit it's a bit outdated when you compare it to frost dragons, or dks with yak, or TD's at high lvls (steel titan), but for mid lvls it's a decent and enjoyable way to make money. Anyone with 95 magic and some decent melee/ranged can make good money there. Heck, even with 80 magic you can. (it helps when you can overload and turmoil though) ps: How I barrow: Void/Bandos + rapier with overloads and turmoil every brother. Use ppots whenever you need, they are dirth cheap I'm thinking about trying Void with fire surge though. The new prayer bonus is neat, so I'll just use pro melee on most brothers I think and spec ahrim karil (bring void melee helm).

I find your options a bit inconsistent: First you basically say 7 str (12 vs. 5) > 7 stab (12 vs. 19) Then you say 8 str > 6 stab So far, it's logic, str > stab, right Lastly, you say 5 stab > 4 str I understand that the stab bonus is bigger than the the str bonus at the last one (ardy vs. fire cape), but it's only by one, so if str is really > stab, wouldn't you just use a fire cape. I suppose you put it in front because of the +6 prayer?
-
I don't think it's even possible to hit that spec. I heard it's weaker when you use it in multi.
