Improved? - not here! Very slow, one "cannot connect to database" - maybe whatever ailed the forum before is not 100% fixed, or there is some kind of defect in the data that was brought back.

How about this one: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/story_p ... ews4.shtml In many cases, they are probably getting the cause and the symptom mixed up. Is every teenage joyrider a driving game addict? Do "tombstoners" get that from a game? Ther has to be a type of personality that will be drawn to violence, to aggresion, to risk taking, or to addiction. On the lighter side, how many were thinking... "Addicted to runescape, there must be better games you could be addicted to".

Fence-fighting the Minotaurs... go in south, take the first east, then go to the north of that room. Perfect, I mean PERFECT safespot, only trouble is it can get busy. There is also a fence for the level 27's, south of the treasure room. Great spots for no-cost power ranging, though the drops are nothing to write home about, other than arrow-multiplying effect of their drops and your pickups. They are also non-aggressive - I guess level 1 is meant to be easy.
-
The elemental wizards west of Port Sarim drop only runes or talisman of their own element. Runes are more common. Apart from that, I think it's Wizards (black or blue) for water and Men for earths - and maybe using F2P would help, as the extra drops in P2P may mean less of the F2P obtainable drops.
-
Melee (max hit 8, but rune armour is pretty good against them). When non-aggressive, you could also mage from cover while hitpoints recover - while there are few true safespots, there are plenty that are are safe enough once you are in control (groan if you get kidnapped by a random!).

Dummies = Attack, whatever style you use. 3 Defence is possible from tutorial island, just keep hitting the rats on defensive and ignore the reminders to go on (you can't go back to do melee, once you move on - mind you, could you get more than 3 defence with a round of ToG ? Either you do 3 defence in tutorial, and do not ToG it, or you do no defence at all until ToG (and I'd suggest getting 1 hit in on attack, strength, range & mage to be sure that defence is the combat skill that will ToG

F2P Fast runs: 1-? Airs - and makes a rune that's always in demand. 20-? Body - good for exp, but bad for value Higher levels are required to use the W16 air company (crafter) without making huge losses - it would be expensive XP at lower levels. P2P Fast runs: 14-? Fires using Rings of duelling Combination runes are cracking XP for level, and while F2P's would convert spare talismans to XP as tiaras, members would do well to use them for combinations, though a necklace of binding is needed to make the most of it. There are also situations where combinations may be required, so having a selection of them already may be useful.

Some are "gift cards", that can be used as an alternative to gift vouchers. The charges can be pretty steep, with loading fees, monthly fees, and a final cash-out fee that would eat a chunk out of any unspent balance.

If you manage to collect evenly (and the Catablepon & Ankou are a lot stingier, so you'll need longer in there), then you can save bank space by storing them as assembled pairs. Sheer luck, I blew 1000 fire strikes on Ankou (safe spot) without a piece, but another time, got a piece in about 5 kills.

Looking for 10 good reasons to play again F2P
Doomster replied to ancientzoide's topic in Help and Advice
Depends... Why be a skiller? Because you set yourself a level challenge. Why be a pure? For the win, for the lose, for the battle. Why do freak trains? On new accounts, one challenge is "fastest to" or "lowest level to". If you can play in a way that suits you, do so, from high levels, down to something like walking the dept and width of the wilderness with an unarmed level 3. At the moment, I'm shooting for "member quest levels" in all F2p skills, then get members, do all the quests, then probably retire, unless I get hung up on Castlewars, PC or clue-bashing. That's the difference, you really do have to make your own entertainment in F2p. -
Try Oziach again, if you skipped the piece of dialogue where you were told about it, that may be the problem - quest characters and holiday event guides are pretty anal about being listened to.

I guess it's called a black robe, not sure if the other one is just called blue robe. I thinlk Betty (Port Sarim) sells hats in both colours, and for the matching bottom (no stats) - go to the Varrock clothes shop for a black skirt or priest robe bottom - the priest bottom is darker. The most important pieces of F2P mage kit are actually an amulet of magic and the staff (magic or an element for free runes), since they have most of the bonuses.

Trouble is, many things which we now consider to be suspicious, would be too easy for the botters (and assisted bot goldfarmers) to change. Default look? - there are already non-default look bots. Level 3? - gaining a few combat levels is easy. The rune store autobuyers are the worst, as there is no real way to compete with them, but they have got to be leaving one huge and supicious trail when they get the coins that they are buying runes with.
-
Advantages & disadvantages there: Buying bases saves a few steps and does not lose any xp, while the respawns & fishing spots make it the complete anchovy pizza place. The drawback, is it is multicombat wilderness - it's generally safer if you find the bandits a threat, as most other players getting to the area (up to 25 wilderness) will be outside of your combat limit. Dangerous for lower/medium levels, as being ganged up on by higher combat levels is no fun, though carrying a teleport and breaking sharply for level 20 and escape is one option. My preference for cooking training is Karamja... catch the store with a glut of raw tuna and the price will be 30 coins each, with 10 coins back when you trade in the cooked ones - and 0.2 gp per XP is pretty good going (oops, gave away my secret there). cheaper still if you find dropped raw tuna at the pier, something I never let go to waste, even if I'm fishing for swordies or lobs. Some players favour noted logs and un-noting at the store, but I usually just take up to 1/2 an inv of logs - not got the patience to power it for much longer than that anyway.
-
There are many ways the rune store autobuyers can be "fixed", though some may just make the vermin harder to spot - eg. store will not sell you runes you cannot use. Some other possibilities - tackle the way the level 3 no-marks get the coin to buy runes with - got to be some seriously one-sided trades there. In the store itself, have the availability vary per person, with those who have more stock than the store would seeing the store having less stock than it really does - now that WOULD help genuine players wanting some runes, compared to both autos and store to player merchanting leechers. And there should definitely be some store randoms, for those sitting on the store for unreasonable amounts of time - several events could be adapted with an "irate shopkeeper" - eg. evil twin to "catch the shoplifter", odd one out, the certers. PS. If the idea is really to protect their rune miners, then I'm gonna pack some firepower and go hunting.

Dual core vesus single - it depends. Some things comprehensively support multithreading, amd can make full use of two (or more) cores. Some things have basic support for making use of dual core, but not necessarily with optimum load distribution as the load division is made where it's easiest to implement. Other things have no optimization at all, but gain slightly from the faster despatch of background tasks. We'll probably see more tuning for dual core as time goes on, with single core relegated to entry level, budget systems. On a well tuned application, duel core typically gains around 80% compared to a single core.

Don't forget the tip.it calcs, very useful for getting the numbers. I normally mine and smith, now planning for some P2P and looking forward to the crazy goldsmithing combo of "Family Crest" and "Between a rock".

The Java Control panel is an icon in the Windows control panel and leads to a tabbed panel. http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/techn ... .html#java In the Java Runtime Pameters area, insert the following: -Xincgc Incremental mode is inferior in total performance, but attempts to avoid long pauses by doing the larger tasks a piece at a time, although somewhat less efficiently. Parameters specified here will apply to any Java applet running in a browser. PS. In previous versions, I used a number of extra qualifiers as well, particularly one to increase the starting memory allocation -Xms32m - which allocated 32 MB instead of the old default of 16, though under my current settings, it now defaults to 64, though I have more memory to start with. I'd hesitate to suggest forcing it to 64 on yours (though Runescape will auto-expand it higher), as it may impair system performace when smaller applets are used and the memory would be better used elsewhere. A compromise, maybe try: -Xincgc -Xms48m
-
MS Java - forget it! Old buggy, vulnerable. I wonder if it could be a garbage collection freeze in Java, though that level of pause seems longer than would be expected for a client application sized stack. Adding the option -Xincgc in the Java Applet runtime settings should select a suitable low pause garbage collection method - in Java 5 or 6 it actually selects the concurrent mode, though that is usable with only one CPU (competing in time slice, instead of truly concurrent) - the train GC which it selected in Java 1.4 is still available, but no longer developed.

How to get a Computer's Administrator Password?
Doomster replied to zeekyhbomb's topic in Tech and Computers
http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administr ... ssword.htm Note, by resetting (generally easier than recovering) the password, encrypted data will be lost. http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ - This one, I can recommend, it's got friends and relations out of a few spots, in some unfortunate circumstances. -
Even with full iron, the level 3's would be lucky not to be 1-hit by the 126's, so they all fall in 43 hits, plus a few more to make up for the odd miss. If the 3's had super-poisoned iron daggers, then it might get interesting, as the 126's would be lucky to avoid poisoning, then it would be the whittling away of the level 3's versus the whittling away of the 126's hitpoints by poison, until the numbers drop to the point that re-poisoning is unlikely. In level 50 wilderness, you could have 76 126's versus 126 76's - not sure which way I'd call that one, though I guess the 126's would still be favourite, as they are not comprehensively outnumbered

The current cap is 31 bits, not 32, as the values are signed integers (+/-) even though they have no need to be, as you cannot go into debt on Runescape. 32/64 bit environments make little difference, you can usually do 64 bit calcualtions in a 32 bit environment (in fact, with suitable arithmetic libraries, you can do arbitrary length calculations), or 32 bit ones in a 64 bit environment.

With 1 attack, 99 strength, you might hit resonably high when you do hit, but you'd miss far too much - though at least your equipment would be cheap to replace. Prayer is a tough call in F2P, due to the limited time and recharge requirement, and tha stat comparison abaove has a slight flaw in the STR/HP area - unless you have access to exotic training methods (eg. PC points in members), higher strength will not be possible with the same hitpoints. Using prayer, I would pray attack against good armour and strength against other pures, or maybe wait till the opponents health is lower, then go for both attack & strength prayers. Or the cowards way, hold on to prayer and protect item when it looks hopeless, though that is the losers way, not the winners. Two special cases: Working out close to the wilderness altar, level 38 west, Prayer may be king, while the opposite applies if you use the wilderness fishing spots at level 35 east, since food can be replenished (if you get a chance!) but prayer cannot be.

Yesterday, some of the Yews were a lot clearer than usual, maybe Jagex had a really good purge, though vigilance will be needed to stop them coming back.

If you DO consider a PSU as well, don't be fooled by some cheap & nasty 400, 450, 500, 550, 600W that's no better than a good quality 300-350. If the ratings are to be believed, then the most important is the combined 12v rating (maximum concurent load across multiple 12v lines, if it has multiple). The Core 2 Duo uses less power than a P4 so that is a little more leeway. An 8600GTS uses 71 watts and is normally used with a PCI-E power connector, as it is close to the unassisted slot power limit of 75W. The GT is about 50W, and does not require a power connector. Anything higher than an ATI X1600 series, an Nvidia 7600 series or an Nvidia 8600 series is going to need a better PSU, but a good 300W unit should be able to deal with a non-overclocked C2D 6300 CPU, a midrange graphics, and a normal amount of memory & drives. That depends on it being a GOOD 300W - I'd be wanting to see at least 14A available through the 12V. Can you see the PSU ratings with the side panel off?
