  1. Dealing with low level unwanted followers.... Preferred method: - MPK them. Find cluster of agressive monsters that are no longer agressive to you, lead follower into middle, pick up tinderbox and other items you may need. Second method: Use stairs, key access door, rune altar, or run through door and close it.
  2. I now have a frog token... I've seen plenty walking around with the frog mask / frog head, but can someone post a pic of the other outfit. So the mask is one piece, replacing the helmet ? And the outfit is what, two pieces replacing body and legs? I don't feel dressed without full armour!
  3. Interesting, last maze I remember was ages ago, and I was taking a full load of ess to the earth altar. My prize ended up on the floor, so I had to drop some ess to grab it. 2 mazes was my lot, not seen one since! Never had a mime. Never had a gameshow. Had one frog, couldn't find the right one quick enough, plus the interference from the moss giants hampered the search. I have had one evil bob, and they seem to be highly rare!
  4. I was mining at the crafting guild... 3 MoM's, giving box (sapphire), kebab, box (sapphire) - I think others there got MoM's as well. Dwarven Mine, I got 2 genie's, someone else got one as well. Not sure how true this is, but it seems that if you see a random you like, stay in that area and you have a better chance of it, almost as if they wander around the world and bomb one area at a time. One time, I got a string of freaky foresters - don't like them, as I couldn't care less about collecting 0-stat clothing.
  5. how can you say prayer is useless. i will admit against players it isn't as good. But against some npc's it can win or lose the fight. just because prayer training is hard and boring doesn't mean it is useless LOW prayer levels ARE pretty useless... For the first 8 (1 combat level), you can add 5% to all all melee combat stat, but it won't last long) The point is, that if you are going to use prayer as one of your main stats, then you need to be in it for the long haul - either none at all, or as much as you can. My balanced has 39 prayer, and whacking the dark mages while using protect from magic is a nice supply of extra runes. A bit of prayer, just wastes a combat level or 2, so don't plan on prayer unless you plan on hitting the "guild level" of 31, so you can take the +2 recharge. A full set of protect from's (level 43) is truly awesome against npc's - that has to be the ultimate target if you use prayer.
  6. The basic rule is that 1 combat level is: 3 levels of A+S 2 levels of Range 2 Levels of magic (Only the highest of these counts) 4 levels of hitpoints 4 levels of defence 8 levels of prayer. Assuming close to equal combat levels (low level wilderness) the low defence pures hit hard for their level, but they will be hit often. With higher defence, especially if you can and do wear better armour that is effective against the attack you face, you will be hit less often, but will not hit as hard. The issue of prayer is simpler - a little bit of prayer is WORTHLESS - it doesn't last long, and it doesn't give a large enough advantage, so unless you just want to level out of the aggressive range of a monster, prayer needs a commitment to make it a powerful aid to combat
  7. A Ranger requires defence to wear the best body armour sections, though all other parts of the armour generally require only ranged level. Since ranged armour also has bonuses in attack, this is one case where defence level is adouble edged sword, especially if planning on being P2P, as all higher dragonhides still only need 40 defence.
  8. With the minimap positioned correctly, you can click on Aubury's store from where you stand at the bank counter - this makes a one piece, best track walk or run. Returning, I usually need to take it in two bites, as it's hard to find a good spot to clck for the bank.
  9. I love the circular paradox... To make an axe, you need to make an axe handle from a log. To get a log, you chop down a tree with an axe. Alright, so you can buy a log, or buy or pick up a bronze axe.
  10. Probably an old one, but... Warriors can wield all they need to fight. Rangers can weild their bow and arrows. So mages should be able to use the "arrow" spot to wield a rune - with an air staff and the appropriate missile rune (Death or Chaos, Mind would be too weedy), then the mage could fight with no inventory spaces taken up, just like the warrior or ranger. While wielding only one type of rune there would still be a little limiting, it ought to be possible without the major upheaval that wielding a full set of runes would need
  11. Is it fact or rumour that the faster you answer, the better the prize ?
  12. Do you have a dragonstone ring of wealth? That's supposed to increase the chance of rare drops.
  13. I'll take your version of "LOW" any day, since the general store selling price is higher than the specialist. Now some form of "Advanced alchemy" with a better price than "high", sounds good at first thought, but it would cause instant hyper-inflation, with Rune meds, for instance, floating at a price just below the advanced alchemy, instead of just below the high alch price as they do now. Advanced alchemy would be good for high magic smiths, and sellers of items, but very bad news indeed for buyers.
  14. For the reduction of RSI, all repetive actions should be "X'ed", the speed made perhaps only as fast as a perfectly co-ordinated player, if the object is not to speed up a skill. Going on from that, for bulk items like runes, the buy 10 / sell 10 maximum is quite ridiculous.
  15. Would be great to have some way of indicating if you are a trading smith or crafter - eg. "Mithril squares made to order".
  16. I'd love to get evil bob again, I prefer skill rewards to junk wearables with no stats. Get humanspeak amulet from chest, get net if you don't already have fishing gear, talk to bob, talk to slave, identify statue in picture and and then find the matching one and fish there, uncook, feed bob, repeat about 4 times (you MUST check the required fish each time, as it changes). Job done! How did you get stuck for an hour ??
  17. Crafting Guild (open to F2P) also has silver, though you have to mine a load and then take it to Falador to smelt. Clay can be processed entirely on the premises!
  18. There would be a lot of scope for crafting on a musket-type weapon. Make the stock from different woods (better wood = better accuracy?) Make the barrel from different metals (lets say better metal = better range, or perhaps fewer misfires) Make the balls (non recoverable) from different metals, giving higher damage. So a rune ball, fired from a rune barrel, with a magic log stock would be the best possible hit, and would require high levels to use. On the other hand, a weapon with low grade materials could be placed within reach of almost everyone, maybe even giving the warrior someting that will hit at a distance - maybe as good as a crossbow, but with no penalty for armour. The weapon has weight, so maybe strength could be one requirement. The manufacture of the parts could require at least two skills - smithing and possibly craft or fletching. Should you be able to use a shield - I'd say not, since it would be a two handed weapon.
  19. The F2P Mage is already lethal in the wilderness, a frequent pest of mining trips. However, having decided to create one myself, I now find: 1. Getting a mind talisman is the first trouble spot 2. The price of non craftable runes, and the low availabilty, is a problem. If I could have one thing as a F2P mage, I'd ask for the abilty to craft chaos - since members stay a step above with the abiulity to craft deaths. My F2P mage will probably have full iron, to wear while traversing aggressive monster infested areas without fighting.
