  1. Free on "Giveaway of the day", a site that delivers one special licenced program every day. http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/elite-a ... /#comments Read the comments before considering, but read fast, as it can only be downloaded and installed on the day. Several other programs flag it as malware, possibly because it has a lot in common with the KEYLOGGER from the same company, as detecting a keylogger has to be pretty close to implementing one.
  2. Poison wears off, so there are 3 ways it can end. 1. You drink an antipoison, and are cured 2. You have enough HP and food to wait it out, with the damage lowering in steps until it wears off. 3. You die If you can't herblore antipoisons yourself, then you will need to buy from other players, as there are so many things in members (including other players in the wilderness) which can poison you.

    RS 3D

Awesome! Looking around for some demo's, Java is not excluded from the 3D party, though newer versions are more capable than older ones. If the Command and Conquer series can evolve from overhead view RTS to first person, maybe the next big thing from TB@JT will surprise us all. Ultimately, Jagex will not be able to rest on their laurels with RS2.
  4. Some serious combat, up to the final level 170 mage + melee + prayer drain Queen.
  5. The only factor where range is of use in defence, is that it controls the kind of range armour you can use.
  6. If given 3 noted "deathkeep" items to displace a more player-valued one, LAUGH if you can protect item, unless they prayer drain you with smite. If you are going to skull yourself, be extra careful, since you will then be saving 0/1 items instead of 3/4. They may DROP the "reward", in which case telegrab & run may allow an escape to be made. The best way to turn the lurer tables, would be to have your own friends attend the occasion, though it's a high risk strategy that needs careful planning.
  7. If it follows the updated rule 7 - http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=2077 Then it should be ok. This seems to be the result of a worthwhile dialogue between Jagex and the Swiftswitch author, and also claimed as a victory by the rule 7 rioters. Third party clients are still "not recommended" and you need to be able to trust the source, as even if it is originally clean, it may be bundled with a keylogger further down the line.
  8. On a general note, how close would you be to doing "Swan Song"? On levels, you only need 1 more fishing level. Other req's: 100 QP, One small Favour, Garden of tranquility. Then you could fish Monks, to use or sell
  9. Unless a group are "having a drop party", it will be unlikely that there will be anything more than clearance stuff in there. The problem with using it for an organized drop party, is that any noob with 1k can hit the lever before it's ready, but you could combine that with a "traditional" F2P drop party in the same area. One disappointment, stackable items stack from multiple insertions, so you cannot make a multi-value coin drop. In quiet worlds, this area could be abused for drop trading, probably with less risk of detection, but more risk of the stuff being lost.
  10. With full rune or better, Flesh crawlers should be a breeze. On the other hand, if you really cannot stand going toe to toe, there's always the soft option of defensive mage or range.
  11. Not specifically for PK/Staking, but if you get a Draconic Visage, you may want to get 75 defence so you can use the shield that can shoot back. Given the difficulty of getting the Visage and the price of getting the shield made if you don't have 90 smithing, it's not something you would risk lightly, though the dragonfire attack could prove decisive in a dual, especially if the opponent has no fire protection. When fully charged, the Dragonfire shield is also the strongest shield in the game (at the moment) though it must absorb 50 dragonfire attacks to reach full charge.
  12. Saradomin Strike lowers the target's prayer, not a useful effect against monsters, but a useful one against other players. Claws of Guthix lowers a target's defence, and has the added advantage of autocasting using a Void Knight mace. At 1 fire, 4 air and 2 blood, it's also the least expensive of the 3. Flames of Zamorak lowers a target's magic level by 5, with the potential to make them unable to cast their normally chosen spell - a devastating effect if they are not equipped to cast an alternative.
  13. New systems based on up to date technolgy will use DDR2, possibly shifting to DDR3. Systems of the last few years may be DDR, moving to DDR2. Older systems may be SDR, moving to DDR NONE of the alternative memory types are compatible with each other - you cannot "upgrade" a DDR system with DDR2 or fit spare DDR into a DDR2 system. There are also speed/timing variation in the memory, and mixing them results in the lowest common denominator of speed and times - so combining a "slow" memory with fast (low) timings with a fast memory with slack timings, results in slow speed and poor cycle timings. If you like the idea of a custom build, but don't want to get too deep into the compatibility issues, then buying a motherboard/CPU/RAM combo (pre-assembled & tested) or a barebones - (case, fitted with same kit) may be an alternative.
  14. If you can make your own nats, then you can eliminate any collected or self-created item for pure profit, though if the item alchs lower than the markket price of the nats, then you lose money but gain magic XP compared to selling the nats and store-dumping the items. There are possibly ways to do better, by buying in or selling out at certain points, but they usually mean a choice between cash or XP, the prime example being smelting bars (good cash, rotten XP) or smithing them (fast XP, expensive as hell).
  15. One tip for potion or drink use... Lose a little HP (eg. pick a fight with something not to strong, unarmour and be hit before you kill it), then wait for HP to recover by 1 - that gives you the timer tick, and now the full effect of a portion will last until the next tick.
  16. A lot of motherboards supports dual channel memory, working the RAM simultaneously on both channels for better performance - fit ram in balanced pairs if this applies, and be sure to read up if pairs go in same colour or opposite colour sockets. Ther are two main Dual core processors now, the Intel Core 2 Duo and the AMD X2. The older Pentium 4 based dual cores are inferior to both of those. The "entry level" Intel Core 2 Duo is the E4300, using an "Allendale" core (2MB cache), the former entry levels (E6300 / E6400) are now dropped, replaces by 4MB cache versions (E6320 / E6420). Some minor Java tuning is possible for dual core - concurrent or parallel mode garbage collection. I have hyperthreading (logical dual core, using the idle bits of a single core) and use concurrent. As for RAM, 1GB is enough for most things under XP, but 2GB is not excessive.
  17. You now have the "what do you keep" function on the equip screen. I think the anti-dragonfire shield has a pretty low value, the one that you get from the duke - and you don't have the levels for the "improved" version. I'd also go with a few other cheap/free items, and maybe change some of the metal armour for hide to resist mage PK better. Also, some high total healing, 2 bite food to top-off hitpoints when you don't need them fast. Antifire pots may be worth a try too, with shield and pot, you take no damage from dragonfire - each on it's own just reduces it, or maybe take any lower level potions you want to use up, maybe fish-egged ones can be used up here. An antipoison may be a good idea, just in case you get DDSed - rather depends if you are going to: 1. Run away from PKers 2. Stand and fight 3. Just consider them as one of the hazards and minimize losses.
  18. The positions are off for me too, using the centre of the standard mouse ponter rather than the pointy bit. Can't say I'm that bothered either way, but the on-map method would be more work, though I guess you can rely on client side image map support in most browsers today, especially on any system that could play RS.
  19. What RCA's are we talking about? 1. Yellow (composite) / Red/White (sound) 2. Red/Green/Blue (component) + Red/White (sound) Those are what you would normally find on a TV. The VGA to 5x Phono (computer monitor) is normally for those large/heavy beasts which accept RGB & H/V sync - the normal VGA signals just carried using better quality cables - popular in 19"+ CRT monitors. There are PC to TV adapters about http://sewelldirect.com/pc-to-tv.asp - and that is a lot cheaper than I thought they would be
  20. Jazz it up a little with Calmira http://www.calmira.de/ Bit of a dead project these days, but still tends the gather the Win 3.1 preservers. Depending on the connectivity, it may be ok if you need a note taker, and under Win3.1, it won't be much slower than a run of the mill system doing Windows XP today. If the memory is larger than default, maybe some chance of getting it into GUI mode Linux, but with lower memory, Linux / X-Windows and a window manger would be hitting the swapfile like crazy if it would run at all.
  21. Just a cable is unlikely to be enough - the simple VGA to RCA plag cables are for high-specification monitors that DO support common VGA scan rates. For PC to TV, either the PC graphics must be programmed with a suitable scan rate for TV (custom driver) or active (powered) circuitry is required to make the conversion, anything from a full-frame scan conversion, down to simpler line buffer systems where there is an appropriate relationship between source and target rates.
  22. The old mousekey dodge, or a ball mouse with no ball as a movement-free clicker, with the noted items in the space that coincides with the alch spell. Speed is limited by the rate of completion, it seems you can only repeat on the 3rd chime.
  23. He restores HP fast, so if you miss often or hit low, getting the KO can be difficult. With 15/15/13 and black, it might be possible, yes, it can be done, but it's a slow fight compared to 20/20 & mithril weapon. The count also dies pretty well to level 20 range, willow bow and iron arrows (rapid), though you still end up being hit as there is no usable cover.
  24. Only a problem if you use a world switching client that does not comply with the rules. (no hammering, no going to already full worlds). The official client now has switching, and if you can stand the wait, nothing wrong with visiting every open world if you wish to.
  25. Still 0 on all servers, login server down. The other possibility, this could be a deliberate shutdown, due to some super bug, but then you'd think they would get an apology up on the site as soon as, if that were the case.. Meanwhile TIF crumbles under the load!
