  1. It depends. The bolts themselves, if brought from somebody who abused the bug would not get you banned. However, it is a case of ethics whether you want to buy them or not. Doing so brings bolts into the economy which should not be there. If they are not brought, they will go down with the accounts making minimal damage. So it is up to the buyer. If you see somebody selling 10k+ of a certain bolt, I would say don't give them the satisfaction of getting rid of them and doing damage before they go down.
  2. That is just incredible. It should be launching nukes at that size. Looks like something you would see in a comic which a superhero has to stop before it destroys the world.
  3. Lets just hope that they get meaningless jobs and never amount to anything important; where they could mess that up. OR that they get caught, reprimanded, and learn from their mistake before it hurts them too much. Most posters here are rather young. It's not really that surprising if they still think like that. Which is why Jagex need to come down on them hard and publicly. If younger people get away with this here, which I hate to generalise but this will probably be true for many. This being one of, if not the first MMO they play, will take that thought of being able to cheat and get away with it into any other on-line games they play further down the lines. And who knows, the minority may even learn and take that trait into their real lives, which would be a horrible thing to happen.
  4. I could probably take a Galapagos turtle. Hoofed animals generally have almighty kicks, anything with claws/teeth like dogs or large cats would make us bleed to death way before we could kill them. Bear or other primates our size all have much more muscle power than us so would easily dominate us. We have evolved over the last few thousand years to be weak and rely on our technology.
  5. I am still disappointed with the amount of people here who say they would cheat if they got the chance. I think the comparison to real world games is the best I have seen here, I will remember that one. Jagex need to re--enforce the reading of, and sticking to the rules with the players.
  6. Actually yes they are worse in one very obvious point. What they did was against the Jagex rules. However much you flirt around it, it is against the rules and should not be done. The rules in one place may differ to the next, but you still need to adhere to them.
  7. I don't think i've spent that much even on family at one time. Go for something cheaper but with more thought.
  8. Well the main Robin hood story is that He robbed from the rich who had used cruelty and deceit to get their money from the poor, then gave it back to the poor. So it would only be like somebody using the old u(Can't do letter codes, the one in my sig) glitch, then giving the items back to those killed. But this is getting rather off topic, so can we head back in the right direction please, because i can see this turning into a more personal attack route.
  9. I actually dislike minty breath on other people. I'm not sure whether it is the smell, or the fact that it means i am breathing in their breath, but I really dislike it. Neutral or no smell is the best. Morning breath is horrible but it is almost un-avoidable if you have a good nights sleep.
  10. Because it's fun and tempting. Risk is fun and if your account is banned you can just start up another. As for jagex figuring out who is cheating and who is not, they can't even catch bot's that make the same repetitive movements for hours on end. And bug abuse is not hurting anyone. The RS economy is already messed up. Exactly the kind of attitude i hate (speaking as another player and user here and not a mod). I despise players who have that attitude. You are breaking the game, you are the reason problems like this get abused. Just because you think it is fun it should not be done. The economy works for general use, it is only messed up for very high valued items. This will have effects (unless Jagex intervine which i think they already have done). Bug abuse hurts us all. Why do you think we have to go through so many questions in the Stronghold of security. Why do you think we lost free trade? Because people cheated! Your reasons are self fulfilling.
  11. It would be nice, if very imporbable, that they are vocal about the rectification of this issue. I think that Jagex is focusing more on finding the abusers then having the equivilent of a press conference about it. Remember, it took several days for Jagex to post about the penguin glitch. What they were trying to do is keep the fact that they fixed it very hush-hush in order to catch anyone who tried to do it again. As soon as they release news about it, anyone who was doing it will stop and go into hibernation mode trying to evade the censors jagex will use to find them or even try dropping the bolts to get rid of the physical evidence. Remember, Jagex isn't limited to seeing if you have or have sold the bolts in the last few days. They can track every movement that you do. I think that Jagex should be able to track these people just by looking at the spells that players have casted in the last 3 days. Anyone who cast that specific spell is then put through the whole screening proccess to find whether or not they did the specific tasks leading up to the spell being cast. I meant after everything is said and done. I agree with libs on this to be honest. I think it is appalling the amount of players who will try to bug abuse when a bug is found. I think this is due to mass naivety and thinking 'it won't happen to me' on the banning front. I am also appalled at the amount of people willing to cheat. I would love Jagex to name&shame those who bug abuse. As A have said in the past, a large part of stopping illegal actions is the deterrent part. It is all well and good punishing those doing the crimes, but you need to stop people doing crimes in the first place by letting them know of the severe consequences. Edit: Total, I do hope you have reported that bug.
  12. Rise of an Empire is much less military focused. A game really can't be military focused when you only have two troop types, swordsman and archer. But that is a great thing, it means you really can just sit there and build your own slice of the medieval world. Walls are VERY easy to build and seal off your city, and you are even rewarded for doing so as your citizens get happiness bonuses from doing so. If you are like me and just like to build a great city and then taking out the enemies is an afterthought, it really is a great game. Although i can't wait to see what the next one is going to be like. Edit: The first in-game i've seen from the new settlers 7, and I really love the look of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHGgodc2lJY I think it looks very close to Settlers 6, in that the cities look fairly realistic in that they don't stick out of the landscape like a sore thumb, and look like they work, yet keep that cartoon-y feel. I'm also intrigued as to the world map, can we finally play the settlers on the real world? I am very likely to get it, and may have to play 6 again just to refresh my memory. To those wanting to see 6 in action, here's a short clip which shows the upgrading of buildings and a whole city view: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwZFnMmSf04 p.s don't forget changing seasons! the changing seasons really add a new diversity to the games. The game plays through a 12 month cycle and depending on the map's climate (temperate, cold, hot etc) the seasons have different effects. In cold climate maps, winter lasts longer and will freeze rivers stopping your fishermen, wheat and crops will not grow, bees produce no honey etc. It also adds new ways to fight, in summer a river may create a natural wall to your city, but in winter the enemies will be able to cross it.
  13. While its true that more taxes would improve things loads. 10% on everyone will make things worse not better, we need to tax the rich more. Yes they might whine they have to pay 25% tax or w/e but really 25% of 1mil a yr? would u even notice it? If you taxed everyone 10% more you'd be screwed. As it stands in uk the dole gives better standard of living than fulltime minimum wage, 10% tax more and mimimum wage is unlivable. Even on alot of mid-range earners 10% would ruin them. Eg my mother 10% more icnome tax and she can't pay the mortgage any more so she'd have to the claim support from the government. Statistically speaking its proven taxing EVERYONE 10% more would put so many people in substantially worse places that the 10% tax increase wouldnt even cover the extra government support needed for people to carry on living. I agree I was probably being rather over-zealous when I said everybody. But indeed, higher taxes for those who can afford them would do a great deal of good.
  14. Mixland, the problem here is that you can't be reasoned with imo. Taxes and established governments with laws have separated us from the Middle ages, and have given the majority of people in developed countries much much better qualities of life. Personally, I wouldn't mind paying a few % higher taxes, as I see daily where the Gov. has run short of money. You would be amazed how much this country (the UK) would advance if we all paid an extra 10% income tax. I get very hesitant when a political party says they want to lower taxes in the run-up to elections, as I know it just means spending cuts. If you truly think paying taxes is stealing, leave. Nobody is forcing you to stay in the country with taxes, but you will see a higher difference in welfare when you enter a country that has much more relaxed taxation policies.
  15. Looks like the most useless truck I've ever seen. It's like those stupid Avalanches. You can hold all of a day's groceries in the bed. That truck looks horrible, and I bet it would handle like a block of granite. I'm really no fan of American cars. There has been to much anti-import propaganda for American cars for decades, which has brainwashed people. America has one brand that has some competence outside of the US which has already been mentioned here, but apart from that, it really does not have anything that can compete with the Numerous European cars, drivers and forms of racing.
  16. I have yet to try Google Chrome. I have heard quite a lot of hype on it, and I think I can live without being able to right click Properties. What browser did you use prior to Google Chrome? I personally used an AOL browser for many years, since getting dial-up oh so many years ago. I used IE and FF for a few months before switching over to chrome.
  17. Chrome does both of those. It has a fair amount of customization colour-wise. Personally it does everything i need a browser to do and no more, which is perfect for me. Well, everything except being able to right click -> Properties on things.
  18. I do think that People make too much of it. It reminds me of protective racism, where one race seems fine to criticise and one does not, such as black people being racist towards whites, but the other way around will not end well. It is the same here. If you watch satirical cartoons, there are many which will do the same to Christian figures, but they do not get as much attention because it is deemed ok, and imo it is. The man can have whatever views he wants, and is free to express those in whatever non-violent ways he wants. The only reason it caught any attention is because it is aimed at Muslims, full stop. Also, if you look through political/religious caricatures through the years there have been much worse.
  19. This is just turning into spam, so i will lock it. If the OP wants me to clean and unlock it then please PM me (or any other mods online), but i can't see it being anything else.
  20. I'm surprised they have such small teams of translators for the size of the projects they have. I take my proverbial hat off to them as it must take a lot of effort to do what they do.
  21. Well that could leave a scar <_<
  22. To be honest though, making mistakes is not luck. The only luck factor is connection, and that can be remedied. When you do eventually get the cape after taking many tries, it will also actually feel like an accomplishment of skill instead of grinding. I personally know this, it took me 13 tries to get mine back in the day, and it has almost been on my characters back every moment since. I personally had to battle bad connections and nerves. My hands would cease up when i got near to the end because of nerves, and I would be battling with bad lagg. I could also play for more than 1h stints at a time. How did I get past it? Playing in half an hour stints, or going 20 waves at a time. Also, it isn't an empty accomplishment as some people say even if you fail, you still get buckets of exp for the time spent. I personally went from around 73 range to around 80 while getting mine.
  23. Yes. I am not being narrow minded, but thinking of the broader picture. It has been priced the best meaning it has a larger audience who can afford it. It has had many games produced for it which can be used by a wider variety of players, which in turn has lead to more sales. You seem to be thinking purely of 'oh x has better games so it is better!' or 'x has more power so is better'. Please, when you want to make sny comments or to be sarcastic, don't bother. The Wii, cannot be disputed has been sold to more people. Which in turn means more people want to buy it, yes? Which means to more people, it is better. 100,000 60 year olds will say that Wii is better, while 20,000 16 year olds will say the 360 is better. The majority will mean that overall, statistically, Wii is better. This is getting off-topic, but please, don't bother trying to be sarcastic. It is very obvious that Natal, which is the current 'next-gen' is inspired by the success of the Wii. This in turn leads me to believe that future next-gen will also be inspired by it.
  24. Makes you proud to be British.
