Don't give yourself that much credit. A good, or even half-decent music critic would analyse different artists and genres from a musical basis. What you have done is simply base your shallow opinion of recent musicians on ridiculous stereotypes that do little more than show that you know absolutely nothing about music. That is honestly how I feel. I don't listen to much new stuff, and that may be effecting my opinion a bit. But it is simmilar to someone who listens only to R&B saying that they hate Rock. MTV is nothing but a rotting collection of trash, they play some really awful crap on there. It is a great channel to watch on mute though because it is nothing but a bunch of softcore porn put forward in a pathetically lowball attempt to sell records. It's like getting a weak version of the playboy channel, except that I don't have to call cable and ask for the expansion package. What is even more sad is the number of losers who actually buy those worthless records. I grew up listening to a collection of hundreds, if not thousands of LP's that were in my basement. I didn't see any point in buying music, or stealing it if it was already there for free. I never really got into MTV or music videos ("music commercials" would probably be a much better term). Perhaps i could have expressed that opinion in a more subtle way, but i didn't, and I am not sorry at all. I don't find anything creative about a grown man crying in public, or cutting up his arms, or delibbrately making up nonsensical stories about his background to sell records because he has no talent and cannot make any money without doing those things in addition to making those stupid videos. I think it's very, very sad, and I think such "artists" are nothing but another piece of trash in the filthy, stinking dumpster that is our modern pop culture. And now that I have gotten mush deeper than I like to go and i'm feeling a little akward, i'll end the post there. I agree with you on the topic of MTV to an extent; they do play some terrible music on there. However, there are some very good Pop artists out there that are also very well-known and probably receive some airplay on MTV. There are good and bad artists in every genre, and similarly, there have been good and band artists in every decade. I just think it's a little narrow-minded to say that you don't enjoy music after '88 when you haven't really given it a chance. Oh well, your loss.

(Points to sig) But in all seriousness, I'm not the biggest fan of the Piano as a solo instrument, with a few exceptions--namely Charles Ives' Piano Sonatas and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. As I play the Violin, I spend a fair bit of time with Violin/Piano duets. I much prefer the Piano when it is played alongside a Violin.

Maybe it's just me then. I think I've listened to it twice and I really didn't enjoy it either time.. Might give it another go though. And I'm not sure. I like Aesop Rock but I don't remember recommending him to anyone. I really need to get into some more Hip-Hop. I want to listen to some good gangster stuff. Any recommendations?

Atmosphere is fantastic. I loved If Life Gives You Lemons, but the Lucy Ford collection is terrible. Sage Francis is pretty good as well, but I only like some of his stuff. And I haven't heard of Danger Doom actually.

I feel this is worthy of a mention, because in response to question 13, a few people have already displayed ignorance as to what Satanism is. Satanism is not necessarily worshipping Satan as an actual deity. More often than not, Satanists use "Satan" symbolically. I think Sacha Baron Cohen is hilarious, but I didn't really like this movie. It wasn't because of the excessive amount of gay scenes or anything, I just didn't find it that funny. I think I had one fully laugh-out-loud moment, and in comparison to Borat, that's not much.

Oh this is fantastic, I've been wanting to get into Death Metal a bit more. It's funny, I have an album from about 20 of those bands, but I only have 2 of the albums you mentioned. Nice list anyway; a good change of pace.

I feel like something a little light-hearted, so I'm thinking of watching Negima. Should I watch Negima! Magister Negi Magi, or Negima!?...?
