  1. Squash. Seriously. Best sport ever. I just started playing about a month ago. Finally bought myself some racquets so I don't have to use tennis racquets, haha..
  2. Minimalism is probably the best for me, or Ambient. I frequently go to bed listening to Te Duem by Arvo Pärt. Other good ones are by Gavin Bryars (Note: the video linked is only part of it.) or (album) by Diagnose: Lebensgefahr. I can fall asleep to most music if I enjoy it, it just has to be a little bit softer if it has drums is all.
  3. I get freaked out wayyy too easy in horror movies. The Ring scarred me for two or three years. I want to watch it but I probably shouldn't.
  4. Fantastic idea Lateralus. I really hope this doesn't get ruined. As for the songs you posted: - Faith Healer: I can't say I enjoyed this. The music didn't really seem to go anywhere. There was some potential around 2:20-2:40 but then it just died away without any real climax. Fairly monotonous singing as well. Perhaps I would be able to appreciate it more if I listened to a studio recording? - Next: Much better. I really like the playfulness in this one. Also, the vocalist is much more explorative with his voice by varying the intensity and quality of his singing. There is a lot more direction in the song as well which makes it more enjoyable. - The Last of the Teenage Idols: Not bad. I'm not sure I liked the big band thing going on with the brass, at the climax of the second section (around 4:30-5:00) I think there was a bit too much going on in the music and it took away from it a bit. Also, I despise phaser effects, but you can't like everything. The transition at 5:30 was interesting to say the least, and that was definitely my favourite section of the song. Fantastic variety displayed in this song, and as with Next, the vocalist had an interesting approach to his vocals. Overall I appreciate the diversity of the three different songs. This really is not the kind of music I listen to at all, but I guess that's the point of this thread. Next was quite fantastic in my opinion, The Last of the Teenage Idols was great--a bit cheesy in parts--but I appreciated the diversity shown within it. Probably important to note that I paid no attention to lyrics as lyrics generaly don't interest me. I can't see myself listening to this band too much, but we'll see what happens. What album would you say is their best? Sorry if I haven't written too much. I'm really not much of a writer. Now for my band: Karl Hector and the Malcouns. I found out about this band from Stones Throw Records. I might also recommend that people have a look at the catalogue on that site if they are at all interested in Funk or Hip-Hop of the more interesting sort. (Kashmere Stage Band and The Heliocentrics are particularly good.) These guys are sort of.. Instrumental Afro-Jazz-Funk. / Awesome.. And the following three songs are from their 2008 album Sahara Swing. Enjoy. :) - Sahara Swing - -
  5. This may just be me, but I don't really see why you should ask her out. The way I'm reading it, you don't know her that well, so why jump straight to going out? If I was in your position I would make an attempt to become closer friends with her first (and use my sister for that as well :P). Unless I'm just entirely misinterpreting your post, I think a relationship has a much higher chance of being successful (or even just not miserable) if you try to be friends first.
  6. Just going to say one thing.. Finnish girls have really hot noses.
  7. Extroverted (E) 55.56% Introverted (I) 44.44% Intuitive (N) 53.49% Sensing (S) 46.51% Thinking (T) 56.67% Feeling (F) 43.33% Perceiving (P) 53.85% Judging (J) 46.15% Nothing over 57% though so that's a bit weird.. ENTP - "Inventor". Enthusiastic interest in everything and always sensitive to possibilities. Non-conformist and innovative. 3.2% of the total population. I would like to think that sounds like me. I value non-conformity and innovation. :P
  8. You say it like using memes is an exclusive/original thing.. :P
  9. [yt]Agh_MilY9yY[/yt] It also doubles as my favourite song of all time.
  10. Mine starts off as that then goes to "Tu compatibilidad musical con mmeol es Muy baja ". (Very Low I think?) I've actually never seen anyone who I have a lower compatability with. Ever.
  11. I honestly don't find him funny in the slightest, and I'm not a fan of any of his movies.
  12. Intriguing

    Shoegaze

Alcest, My Bloody Valentine, and Asobi Seksu are about all I know. I enjoy what I have heard of the genre and will get into it a bit more, but I want more Funk and Trip-Hop first.
  13. Who cares? When someone says "iTouch" do you think of an iPod Touch? If so, then the term does its job and is appropriate. If not, you're either Amish and therefore wouldn't be on this forum, or you're an idiot.
  14. He said no heavy metal. Creed are hardly metal.
  15. lol. Just incase the next ten posts are people criticizing me for spamming up the forum, a stupid OP deserves stupid replies.
  16. Gossip Girl, Skins, and Weeds. That's about it. :)
  17. Nah, they're all in Metal and Electronic. Everything else is fine. :) Not really, I have an endless list of subgenres, it's something I started doing very soon; dividing my music in subgenres. Just way more useful; especially when I want something along the same lines. I don't understand why everybody whines about subgenres, it's really not that hard. Maybe it's just that Metal is the only genre I understand enough to know almost all of the sub-genres. And I sort of get it. If you're new to a genre, you're not going to really be able to tell the difference between some of the more specific sub-genres, and it can be a bit daunting. They're really useful though.
  18. Nah, they're all in Metal and Electronic. Everything else is fine. :)
  19. I bought a '91 Ford Corsair in May, when I got my Ps. It's definitely not perfect: the handbreak doesn't work, the fuel light doesn't work, the odometer doesn't work, I need to use a special button to make the horn work at it hardly ever does anyway. I still like it though. It's the perfect size. :) [hide=] Not my actual car, but mine is identical to this one.[/hide]
  20. But then you wouldn't be being yourself! ;) Pretty much every National Socialist Black Metal band.
  21. I don't know a huge amount about it either. I think Necrobean (sp?) is the go-to guy on this subject though. Acid Bath are the only Sludge band I listen to, but they're absolutely fantastic; particularly Paegan Terrorism Tactics. As for Doom, Isis, Cult of Luna (though I guess they're both more Post-Metal?), Ahab, and My Dying Bride are all pretty good.
  22. Im confused. Death metal = black metal Still confused.
