  1. Apathetic. This type of person makes my [bleep]ing blood curdle. I don't know why, I just want to work his face over with a cricket bat. Same thing here, I know exactly what you mean. ... Why? My fashion taste is different to that, but a lot of my friends in the band crowd dress a fair bit like that, just with slightly less epic beards. I don't see why how someone dresses would make you want to inflict pain on them. It just sounds a bit archaic.
  2. I had a go at Monopoly City the other day. It was kinda fun. :) Monopoly just annoys me a bit because a lot of the time I go 4 or 5 turns right at the beginning without landing on anything to buy, and that's not really anything to do with lack of skill.
  3. I'm just wondering how many people here are into board/card games, and of what kind. Recently I found a cheap copy of Diplomacy as I'd played it a few times and liked it. I've played it a number of times since and am starting to get a bit addicted. I've even resorted to playing it online because I haven't been able to find enough people to play with! Other than that I quite like Settlers of Catan and Stratego. I recently purchased Kingmaker from a garage sale, though I have yet to play it. As for card games, I quite like Euchre and 500, but I haven't played very many different games. Now that you know what types of board/card games I like (mostly war games/strategy), it's your turn! What are some of your favourite board/card games?
  4. Musical snob/Hipster. Except I can't be a hipster because I actually admit I am one.. :P
  5. Wow my music tastes have changed a lot.. Anyway, here it is according to Last.fm, though I'm removing artist doublings which occur because a lot of the time I listen to full albums rather than songs: 1. Bon Iver - Beach Baby 2. Thom Yorke - Atoms for Peace 3. Radiohead - Reckoner 4. Aäkon Këëtrëh - Untitled 2 5. MF DOOM - My Favourite Ladies 6. Blut aus Nord - Inner Mental Cage 7. Jackson C. Frank - You Never Wanted Me 8. of Montreal - Gronlandic Edit 9. Elliott Smith - The Biggest Lie 10. Silencer - Sterile Nails and Thunderbowels.
  6. No, but having more people on the same spot will cause the spot to run out sooner. With that, your overall catch rate will lessen, but that's only due to having to change spots more often.
  7. Your musical compatibility with digitaldisc0 is Very Low Music you have in common includes Massive Attack, Justice, The White Stripes and Muse. Hmm..
  8. There's possibly a difference between a vocalist actually being awful, and you just not appreciating their style. I'm going to say in this case, it's possibly more the latter option.
  9. This actually sounds like a really, really good idea to me. It would be great to see other nations follow suit.
  10. That's fair enough I guess. I just wouldn't use 'underrated' as a description for a band that is likely to be mentioned in an 'overrated bands' thread as well. :P As for Chevelle, they were one of my favourite bands a few years back, when Wonder What's Next was out. Also one of the bands that introduced me to metal. Kind of lost interest in them after that though.
  11. ... really? :-| Anyway, the only band that really comes to mind is Pilotdrift. It's mainly because they didn't take advantage of the recognition they got when they had the chance, but still.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NLqGypZ-FE
  12. I would hardly call the Icelandic government inept. Iceland is the 13th best-performing nation on the Failed States Index (in comparison to the USA being 20th), they're 3rd on the Human Development Index, and they have rthe 14th highest GDP per capita. You need to have an effective government to get a country to that state. They just didn't respond very well to the global financial crisis is all.
  13. I'm a tad late in posting this as it happened three days ago, but it's one of the funniest political events I've heard of in a while. “No one has to be afraid of the Best Party,” he said, “because it is the best party. If it wasn’t, it would be called the Worst Party or the Bad Party. We would never work with a party like that.” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/26/world/europe/26iceland.html Edit: Also relevant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxBW4mPzv6E

Still a few things that are a bit off, but that's possibly because I put the questions into the wrong context when answering.
  15. ENTJ Ex Int Thi Ju 44 38 38 44 # moderately expressed extravert # moderately expressed intuitive personality # moderately expressed thinking personality # moderately expressed judging personality I stopped being convinced as soon as it said "traditional", but okay. :P Still a fun sort of test to take. EDIT: Nevermind, I was reading the ESTJ results. Sound a bit like me, though much more aggressive. Im guessing I was quite close to being any of the possibilities, with the percentages as close as they are.
  16. I don't think anyone is going to say that wasn't a valid goal, but from the ref's angle it would have been hard to make a call. It's a fantastic example of why video evidence should be able to undo certain ref calls in professional soccer.
  17. You will feel alcohol more if you start drinking on an empty stomach. So, if for some reason you feel like spending lots more money on a night, eat a decent meal beforehand. Some alcohol will simply affect you more than others, even if you're drinking comparitively the same amount, e.g. one standard drink of scotch will affect me significantly more than one standard drink of beer. A lot of people say that mixing different types of alcohol in a single night will also make the alcohol have a greater effect on you. The final think to consider is, of course, how quickly you're drinking it. Common sense really; the more time you take to drink, the more time the alcohol has to be absorbed by your body. An additional note is that, unless you particularly like feeling hungover, drink a reasonable amount of water in comparison to how much you drink. Alcohol is a diuretic, and as such can cause you to expell more water than is necessary. This can make you dehydrated in a night of drinking, which is a major cause of hangovers. Though you didn't necessarily request this advice, I might just say that I find it generally unnecessary to get drunk when I have just as much, or even more fun when I'm just tipsy. I tend to just having a few drinks to get myself slightly tipsy, then having one drink every hour afterwards to keep myself at that state. You say you're an inexperienced drinker, so it's something to consider.
  18. This is awesome. May have just spent around $150..
  19. Haha nice. ;) I kind of expected that every one would be around Medium with not much variation.
  20. Your musical compatibility with Langzor is Low Music you have in common includes Cage, Atmosphere, Sage Francis, The Lonely Island and Opeth. :( At least you listen to Cage! http://www.last.fm/user/Estrangement - Mine, btw.
  21. Ahhh yes, "gunslinging". I "sling" my "gun" at least twice a week. Hahaha! I don't recall ever seeing you around here, but you're already in my good books. :)
  22. Thrilling novel you have there. Pointless post. Most of the time people who call threads stupid are only wasting their time, as the threads that are stupid will most likely not get replies and will soon be bumped off the page. The other instance in which one might consider a thread stupid is one which a mod has already locked, or will lock sometime in the near future. So again, pointless post. Haha, right. I think your confusing stupid threads with unpopular threads. I have no doubt this thread is going to get replies, and it doesn't constitutes something worth locking. Regardless, the point still remains that this thread is just a place for people to bash artists, and while some discussion may be generated it really has nothing to do with the merits of the thread but on the quality of the few posters who will generate discussion here.
  23. Well.. I like 15 and 21. I think we have very different tastes in music. :P Good to see some variety here though.
