  1. No worrys. These boards move rather fast so any posts are appreciated. Hehe, I might post a bank pic if I ever get around to tidying up my bank. However I'm not really motivated to because my back is really unimpressive. A large part of my net wealth is in my equipment. I don't have much in the way of money or rares of any kind (although I don't really consider rares to be as important because turning them into cash is extreamly difficult these days.) Well, I now have developed a bit of a hatred towards Banshee tasks. You have two choices when it comes to killing them. You can either... a) Run arond chasing them in the Slayer tower all day or, B) Fight them in the slayer well where even with good magic def they still tear through you. Plus you can't guthan or use peaches for healing so you're let having to use food or a Bunyip. Oh well, at least they drop a decent amount of herbs and pure essence. Oddly enough however I can't recall ever getting a pair of Black Mystic gloves as a drop until today. It seems a bit odd to have gotten to 90 without ever have recieved a pair of gloves which aren't especially rare. Off to Turoths now. *Hopes for leaf bladed sword  *
  2. Is that so? Well I must admit that I find that a bit dissapointing. Although I suppose that if they just kept improving they might get a bit unbalanced. Oh well, I'm sure I'll survive with my evil squid just fine. Is that a quote from KH? Do you play KH Th3? PS. Congrats on the level lol  You just started the blog and you've already got some really cool things to throw up here  Thanks for the feedback and yeah, the quote is from Kingdom Hearts (as is my avatar.) It's nice to see that there are some people who get the reference. :D Yeah, it is, isn't it? Thats one of the reasons I decided to go for 99 thieving awhile ago. That and it also happens to be one of my favorite skills, (oddly enough). On another note, I just finished up my first clue (from dagannoths) and it was rubbish. Just 11 chaos, 80 earth, 60 adamant nails, 57 waters and an adamant long. Even for a level 2 that is pretty unimpressive. However since I seem to have had a pretty good day so far, I'm not exactly dissapointed.
  3. Thanks Lunar. :) My latest level... Other than that, nothing very interesting has happened between now and my D legs drop. I did however recieve a back-to-back Maul/Black mystic robetop drop, another maul soon after and 2 rune full helms within the last 50 mobs. Also, I never truely appreciated summoning monsters for combat until now. I was quite surprised by the Karamthulu Overlord's combat ability. I've seen it hit up to 14 in normal combat and its right-click ability have proven useful. I'll have to be sure to use combat familiars more in the future.
  4. Thanks for your words of encouragement, Sombra, darkalien and Crusader :) Well isn't this nice. First task and on one of my first kills I get this... An omen of good things to come? (I sure hope so.)
  5. Current Task: 121 Dust Devils Well, Ive never made a blog before, and I never thought I ever would, but here I am. Introduction Hello everyone, I am Artemis 42. You may or may not know me, as I am not the type to post often, however you may have seen my around here. Ive been playing Runescape for around three and a half years now (wow, has it really been that long?). As you can probably guess from the title, this blog is about my journey to 99 slayer. This skill has always been among my favourites because it combines a number of my favourite things in this game. The most notably of these being combat, money making, and also giving me a variety of training options. It seems to have developed into a tradition for my that I train slayer over my summer holidays. Two years ago I went from 60-85 and last year from 85-90. This summer I plan to make a good start on 99 however it would be foolish to think I could complete that in only 2 months. None the less, I will once again begin my slayer training. Stats Equipment Setup Head: Slayer Helmet Neck: Amulet of Fury Weapon: Abyssal Whip Shield: Dragonfire Shield Back: Thieving Cape Body: Bandos Chestplate Legs: Bandos Tassets Hand: Dark Gloves Feet: Dragon Boots Ring: Berserker Ring Of course, this is subject to change depending on whatever Im fighting at the time. I shall also be using Lunar Magics while training and tablets for my other needs. Yeah, I know I dont have a fire cape. Personally I feel that the fight cave is more a test of internet connection than skill. The only thing stopping me from getting it is the fact that my computer has random and totally unpredictable spurts of lag that dont appear to happen for any reason. Level Ups [hide=Slayer][/hide] [hide=Combat] [/hide] [hide=Other][/hide] Task Log Here is where I shall be keeping track of all tasks that I do. I will also be keeping track of the total amount of summoning charms that I receive as drops, mostly because I am interested in seeing a ratio between slayer and summoning experience. 6. I was truly impressed with the scope of this update. I never expected Jagex to go to such lengths with their new graphics. Originally it just seemed to be upgrading the current textures, but now we can see that they went far beyond that. The difference between the two Dragon Med helms (and everything else, of course) is incredible. This update could easily be one of the best things to happen to Runescape in a long time. Not just because of the better graphics of course, as a game can be perfectly good with poorer graphics. This should put a stop to some of the negativity surrounding the game and lead to overall better public opinion. I seriously can't wait for this.
  7. Well, I suppose it can't hurt... Runescape Name:Artemis 42
  8. Well, since quests are one of my most favourite things in this game I don't think I could stand being without a specific skill. However, I feel that I could do fairly well without firemaking. The only thing that its good for these days is some quests. Most of its other uses are just novelty and aren't really used except in specific circumstances.
  9. I would say that I am more self sufficient than most. I rarely ever buy skills, the only exceptions being some crafting and herblore levels. I find that gathering materials myself to be more enjoyable than just buying them from other players. It gives stats a greater since of meaning having worked for them myself as opposed to getting them as fast as possible through money. Also, the fact that I have been perpetually poor my entire RS career has no effect on this opinion.
  10. No, what he means is that theres no marker in your skill journal that sayss you need 69 smithing to do somthing, aru (using what you said for example: In the agility skill journal it says you needed 55 agility to cross the elven log-while as you dont unlock anything at 69 smithing that you make durring the quest) Thats not entirely true. If memory serves, in the past there have been quests that require certain stats that aren't listed in the skills page. It is perfectly possible that the item that must be made is something that is specific the quest, not a normal item. At any rate, I was under the impression that the smithing requirement for this quest was the making of the hand for Brass Hand Harry. However I could be wrong, since I have the required level and wouldn't know what happens when you don't. On a different note, does anyone have any information on what the pirate implings give you for catching them? I don't seem to see any posts on the matter.
  11. This platebody looks good to me, although I do question the purpose of bringing out such a piece of armour after so long. It seems to me as if dragon's time has come and gone. Nowadays there are so many better alternatives to this armour set. In the end this plate is just going to be another overpriced cosmetic item. That is of course assuming that this is indeed the fabled dragon plate. I seem to remember Jagex saying that they never planned on creating one. But it sure does look like it could be.
  12. This point system is sure good news to me since I'll be starting to train slayer again soon. I can't see myself burthroping any more tasks due to this, since the benefits of these points is so great. Now that we can blacklist some tasks I imagine that things are going to get a lot easier for me. Personaly I plan on blocking... Scabarites, Warped Terrorbirds, Turoth, And Kurasks (once I get my sword.) Does anyone have any better sugestions for what tasks to block? I hear that the exp is the same as smithing a normal gold ring (so 15 exp.)
  13. Completed the quest. This skill doesn't look like its going to be easy to train. The charms seem necessary, and can only be obtained as monster drops, (or from other players.) Do you gain summoning exp from damage your familiar does?
  14. I'm highly doubtful that this is mearly a bug of some sort. Something as unique as this would, logically, have to be put in by Jagex. Afterall with summoning not even released yet, why would it even be in the game in the first place? If they could bring them in this way, and not do anything with them, couldn't they do that over time rather than having to release the creatures in two batches? It seems to me that something like this must have been intentional, although did we really need even more hype and build-up for this skill? And what happens when you try to talk to one, anyway?
  15. I wouldn't think it too strange if they decided to give us some sort of summoning based room. Afterall, we can have our own personal prayer alters, and we know that summoning points will be rechargable at some sort of 'obelisk'. It would make some degree of sence that we might be able to constuct our own summoning obelisks in our player owned houses. Although, of course, this is all pure speculation.
  16. Meh, why not. There are people there that I have been ignoring for years now and I haven't seen then since. Besides, now I will finally get around to putting my fairy ring list in there.
  17. Looks like the same colour-scheme as gold castle wars armour. If the actual cape looks anything like that, i'm definatly going to drop everything and go for that 99. Well, unless the skill costs too much to train that is. And by the looks of things, its also going to be a slow trainer.
  18. If one has the appropriate slayer level, would it be better to kill the spiritual mages? Or do they not have the same drops of adamantite bars and poisoned rune daggers?
  19. Well, for one I just had the misfortune of running into a Revenant Knight while abyss crafting. I never expected to see one of them so far south in the wild. Gave me a bit a a shock to say the least.
  20. As far as I am aware, no MMO has ever taken such drastic measures in order to stop RWT. By the looks of things, Jagex might have actually succeded. But at what cost? I am all for the abolation of RWT, but I think they have gone too far. Is the he upheaval of Runescape a price worth paying? In the past, I have supported many controversial decisions made by Jagex but I cannot totally support a change of this magnitude. I might give Jagex some credit though, they have some guts for seeing this through to the bitter end.
  21. I always love holiday events, and the Bounty Hunting thing looks to be pretty interesting. I'm not too sure what all the excitment about the gravestones is though.
  22. Mechscape's logo looks good to me. And... what the heck is FunOrb anyway? I've never heard of it before. :-k
  23. I virually always use the "self sufficient ways" of obrtaining items. I've been poor my entire runescape career (still am, by the way) so I don't have the money to spend buying raw meterials from other players.
  24. Hood goes nicely with vyrewatch. I don't see why you people were so obsessed with the broom. Did you people seriously think that it would be used to fly around in place of walking? More than likely it would just be a hovering emote and a wieldable weapon. Personaly I voted for the bone brooch, due to the fact that the easter ring was such a sucess. That said, I though the hood turned out rather well. Good event imo.
