Yea, just go tot he duel arena and look for some higher levels. They know about the coordinate, usually. And ask them if they will duel you so you can get to it. Offer up some cash as the "prize" for the duel, then after you've dug it up just let them kill you and collect their payment. Also moving this to Clues forum. :thumbsup:

It would take a bit of time, but you could probably go to free worlds and buy from General stores there. A lot of people do that with willows (at around 8-10 gp each). Go to lumby gen store and bank in the castle

Actually you can't even get more than 1 of each kind.

They do respawn, and I know they don't give drops. And I think they don't give combat xp either, but not sure on this last one.

I think it's every 8 actions you have them do. (trips to bank or sawmill, serve food/tea, etc).

I'd say that they are about the same, plus you don't have to go into the wild. Go with the dueling rings/castle wars method for fire runecrafting
