Let's try to work back towards that.

Starting this morning, or at least that's when I started hearing it.. my machine has been making a somewhat odd noise.. If you've ever played with the little matchbox toy cars, you know the sound it makes if you run it along something to get the wheels going, and then hold it in the air? The sound is almost exactly like that.. If you don't know that sound...think of a cat hacking up a hair ball, it's sort of like that, but not as loud and more drawn-out. I'm thinking it's a fan that's clogged or blocked or something so it can't spin, but I didn't see anything when I checked real quick this morning. I'm going to do a little bit more in-depth probing tonight if it's still going-on.. Until then, though, does anyone have any advice/ideas?

The first three were pretty good. It'd be funny to see the etirety of the 3 movies in that style. Almost like Blue Shift to Half Life.. Seen the Triumph one before, very hilarious. There is a big difference between constructive criticsm and outright flaming. This is mostly directed at you J_Rod. If I see many more posts like this from you I guarantee that you will have a forced short vacation from these boards. I would recommend against getting EQ, personally. They should rename it "EverGrind". I haven't played WoW, so I can't be a great judge on that, but I have played GuildWars a lot, so.. PvP-wise, Guild Wars is great. It really is about strategy. You have to know to do when and in conjunction with what and what makes a good team and which weapons go best with the skill set you have and etc.. The only hitch is that if you want to be any good, you have to do the roleplaying. Roleplaying allows you to unlock goodies for use on your PvP character. There are skills (at the moment approx 150 skills per class, 6 classes, 2 classes per character, the combinations are insane), weapon upgrade components, and runes, which allow you to upgrade armor. Another great feature of GuildWars is the streaming update technology. Basically, you never have to download a patch. Bug fixes and etc can be streamed to you as soon as they're fixed, so as soon as you go to a different area, your game is updated. For large updates all you have to do is close and reopen the game. This also allows them to do expansion to the game aside from expansion packs. Although they will do expansion packs, and the stuff they've got planned for those expansion packs seems really cool. Sorry, I know the thoughts there were kind of disjoined, but, I think you get the idea.

Doesn't sound like loose cables, Matt.. If the HDD was out, it would at least boot to the bios or something. Unless, maybe the mobo is old enough that it requires a floppy drive and the floppy cable slipped out?

I like Futurama's view of God and why he doesn't do anything... If you haven't seen the episode... Bender accidently gets fired out of the torpedo tube of the S.S. Planet Express, and since they're already going topspeed when they fire him, they can't catch up with him and he's doomed to float endlessly through space.. An asteroid containing a civilization becomes attached to him, and he basically becomes the god of that civilization. He ends up destroying the civilization through his action and inaction.. Then he meets up with a nebula that used to be god, but a giant thinkdroid or something along those lines collided with it.. Bender had a long conversation with God and this is the jist of what god said: "If you do too much, people will rely on you too much. If you do nothing, they'll stop beleiving in you entirely. You have to use a light touch. If you do things right, people won't know you've done anything at all." Which then inspires Bender to do good, because he thinks if he doesn't do good, god won't do good, and therefore nobody will. And then it cuts back to god saying "If you do things right, people won't know you've done anything at all..." Sorry, I know that was off-topic-ish, but, meh.. :)

Oh, sorry, I should have been more clear on my current problem.. File uploads I've gotten to work. What I can't get to work is seemingly any of the image functions. (imagecreate, imagejpeg, etc..)

It doesn't have to be completely original to be sleek and professional.. Granted it does look like 3 dozen others, but, I know a good few sites that all have really similar designs and are all doing really well..so.. *shrug*

Sorry for the bump, but, I think I figured it out.. Doing 6 chkdsks is evidently sometimes required to fix the problem..yay!

The only thing I don't like is the vertical menu in the upper-right corner. The style these days is to have a horizontal menu somewhere. Although I guess there's nothing wrong with going against that convention..but I think it could be done better/differently than it's being done now.

What are transfer speeds like? I'd imagine for large files it would be terrible, especially over a slow connection..

I used to have a computer that was, except for the video card, very similar to that, and I ran it on high just fine.. I know you'll be able to run it on low/medium. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you could run it on high, though.

I would love to be able to keep this open, but, I can't. Nadril, you're going to get some criticsm along with the praise, you may not like it, but it's going to happen, deal with it. You'll be a bigger person if you don't rise to it. If you see something in the criticsm that you agree with, work to change it. If the guy is an ignorant noob, ignore him. Don't turn around and sink to his level. (DeadWithTheWind, that was all a "theoretical" type thing, not directed at you in any way shape or form.) Ryan, no. Just..no. I don't know what to say to you, you know what you did. Don't do it again. J_Rod_The_Ti, you were really the most blantantly flamy person on this post. You even went a step further. Beyond outright flaming DeadWithTheWind for pretty much no reason whatsoever, you managed to flame somone else, too. Fantastic. Flaming is not only discourteous, but against the rules here. Please, don't do it again. When I see posts like these it takes me very close to being disgusted with being part of this community.
