  1. I would definitely think it will never go back down to 70M. It's a discontinued rare, so while it may have minor up and down fluctuations, in the long term, the price will always go up. Why? Supply is always going down; and I would assume demand is always rising as more and more players become rich.
  2. Items lost value when sold as they were in many cases sold below medium GE value. The addition of statues created items that would never lose face value. Also, these statues had/have extremely high drop rates. Actually, Bounty worlds alone had high drop rates, but the statue rates were/are insanely high. It was easy to make over 1M/hr tricking after the addition of statues. Prior to that tricking seemed like a coin toss and you were lucky to make 500k/hr (if even that). Sure, you could get lucky with a DFH or DFS but they at least had very low drop rates in comparison. 1) Items lost value when they were sold? Really? I wasn't aware that every single item is forever dropping in price (that's simply not the case - they drop and rise periodically.. you'd be lucky to find any item that has constantly gone down in price for a long period of time) 2) Like I said, in RS, drops are interchangeable with money. 3) I don't see a difference in the effects of the RS, a large gaming economy, with a few changes in pvp/bh'ing, an activity in the game that a minority of players used. And like I said, very few players knew 26k'ing existed, and very few actually did it. 4) There is no doubt in my mind that the effects of 26k'ing on inflation have been blown out of proportion 5) Once school starts for the majority of the RS community; in September, I am expecting the prices of those items affected in June to drop to their previous levels...
  3. So this change (pvp drop change) happened in June? I thought it was more recent. And items=money. Usually, once you get an item drop, you sell it off right away. Money and (some items - especially those which were pvp drops) items are completely interchangeable in Runescape, due to items being extremely liquid because of the g/e. (An SS and 8.5M mean exactly the same thing to me... I'm indifferent as to which one I'd hold.. both are good medium of exchanges, both are liquid, and both store value). So really, the change in pvp drops had no effect on the inflation witnessed in the economy.. if anything, I believe pvping has become less profitable, so you would assume deflation would be a factor, and not inflation. Sorry, not buying it. The rise in prices began when a large proportion of RS players finished school, and started playing RS again.. that is the number one reason of the price increase.. like I said before, there is no way that the effect of 26k'ing (who only a minority of RS players know about, and even a smaller minority actually do) can affect a market as big as Runescape's.. yeah right.
  4. Haven't pvp/bh worlds been around for more than a year now? Thus, 26/76k'ing as well? Why have we only seen these huge price increases since June only? People are completely blowing the 26k'ing effects out of proportion. It is obviously because of the huge increases in players during the summer months. There is no way that the money generated by 26k'ing are larger than those of either the "summer rush" or merchanting clans.
  5. A number of possible reasons. Basically it all boils down to more money in the economy though. a) merchanting clans price fixing B) during the summer months, players return, rising the demand for most common items, resulting in higher prices c) 26k/76k'ing - although that problem has been reduced. I personally don't think this played that great a role... Among the general RS pop., very few players knew of it, and even fewer did it. It was definitely not enough players to offset the natural level of money in the economy that much. So in my opinion, a) and especially B) are the major reasons...especially because the price [bleep]es all happened in June according to the prices. That has got to be the reason.
  6. Well, I can't tell you the exact numbers either, but I will echo the fact that monks are better xp and money. I couldn't imagine doing sharks to 99.. they're so slow.
  7. No one uses their own marrs on a guilded altar though. If you're using someone else's house, 99% of the time they will be lighting it themselves. The sole factor in the price is the speed. It's more costly to use normal bones than drag bones in the end.
  8. Farm toadflax and limpwurts... with 4 plots (ardougne, camelot, falador, and he one north of haunted woods in canifis), you can make 70-100k a run (which takes about 10 minutes).. you might want to raise your magic so you can ardy teleport (I think a quest might be required as well for it.. but can't remember).. and do Fairy Rings I and start Fairy Rings II to get access to the fairy rings.. makes travelling a lot easier and would get you to the haunted woods patch quickly). For prayer, go to the House Party world. Kill ogres west of yanille.. pick up big bones.. walk over to the house portal just inside Yanille (on west side).. find an altar (usually there are people advertising the use of their guilded altars, or just simply ask and you'll get an answer). Go into house and use the person's guilded altar, and repeat. Shouldn't take you long at all to get to 43 prayer. At lvl 29 hunter I believe it is, you can catch swamp lizards. FAST xp and pretty good cash for a lower lvl... they go for about 900-1000 each right now I believe. If you need money, that's also a good method. Definitely train your attack to 60 (dragon items), and then 70 (abyssal whip). The BEST training spot for you in the game is no doubt - experiments, lvl 25 combat with 100 hp.. it's practically cheating. You need to do the creature of fenkenstein quest to access them which is pretty quick and easy from what I remember.
  9. The xp/cost for dragon bones might be a lot lower than the xp/cost for normal bones, but obviously there is a higher demand for dragon bones because it would be A LOT quicker than going the normal bone way. There's no math there, just simple economics. There is no way I would even attempt to use normal bones.. waste of time. Edit: PS, in the end, I would argue that it's more costly to go the normal bone way, as the opportunity cost will be too great! You could do it 16 times quicker with dragon bones, with just twice the cost. With that huge opportunity cost (loss of time), perhaps you could have broke even or made even more money than the initial cost of bones. So for me it would be an easy choice. Dragon bones all the way.. maybe more costly, but in the end, it's more economically efficient.
  10. I don't think the question is "Which worlds do you play on?" but rather, which language client do you use? i.e. if you go on the German client; everything in the game will be German; from "Welcome to Runescape" when logging in, to "Bank Banker" at the bank. English for me as well.
  11. There is no way you're getting 20-40k slayer xp an hour (unless you're cannoning or something).. The melee average for slayer xp is 10-20k an hour.. usually on the lower end.. so 10-15k slay/xp per hour. But you are right... attack xp = 4 x (slayer xp)
  12. Completely random... meant to mean "delta inhabiter" - hence the -er at the end. I considered it pretty original... didn't fiddle around with having to think of another name as this one was the first I tried and it wasn't taken. I always love seeing original names, and sometimes get compliments on mine. Looks original to me. I like it.
  13. Attack has nothing to do with how high you hit. Attack only determines whether you'll hit a 0 or not. The higher your attack lvl is, the less often you will miss (hit a 0). Strength determines how high the hit is. The higher your strength level, the higher your max hit, and the higher your hits in general will be. So the answer to your question OP is strength, and strength only. Well, if you hit a 0 that will lower your avg, so train both attack and strength! Right, in that sense it's true. Not trying to degrade attack when I said what I did... in fact, I would argue that attack is more important of the two.. but I think both should be kept at around the same lvl (unless you're making a pure which is a different story).

  15. You should really get your strength up a bit.. it'll make it easier to get that 99 in the long run.
  16. If that's where you get your profit and xp from herblore, keep it up. Sell them off and buy irits (which are kind of expensive right now, so you might want to hold off) to raise herblore.
  17. I'm pretty sure coal and mith or whatever ores are used to make the bars would follow suit... so again, it'll probably be possible to break even and even profit through superheating. But you'd have to keep an eye on the prices in the next week or so to find the optimal time to buy.
  18. I'm pretty sure you profit with superheating. Just buy the coal, mith, and nats off of the g/e; superheat; and sell the mith bars. Edit: okay, just checked; with current market prices, you lose 4 gp/bar, which isn't bad at all.. but usually you profit! (if you wait a few times for things to stabilize, you probably will profit).. Edit #2: still, with current prices with superheating mith, it'll only cost you 10-12k to get up to lvl 59.... definitely your cheapest alternative.
  19. Okay it worked.. just finished the task. They have really low defence... really easy to kill. Took about half an hour and made a nice 150k in drops. Not bad. And you're right.. I guess they don't give tasks that you can't access.. I did start regicide.. although getting to the elves is the hard part.
  20. Thanks. Ive seen that calc but did they miss anything maybe?
  21. Are there any readily available items on the g/e to high alch with minimal losses? I'm looking for something that once I buy the nats, and the item itself, I won't lose more than 100-150 gp per alch. And I don't want to fletch or gather/produce the items myself.. I'm not looking to profit or even break even.. I just want something on g/e I can buy to alch with minimal losses! Thanks.
  22. I've started the quest, but am short of the herblore requirements to complete it... I think I got to the herblore part, but definitely not to the Gorak part.. but I guess I'll give it a go tomorrow and see if it works. And yes, the slayer masters can give you tasks with a monster that you don't have access to... I've gotten elves in the past, and I still haven't done Regicide (it's been 5-6 years and the Underground Pass still scares me lol).
  23. So I got 88 Goraks as a slayer task and I have a few questions: 1) Do I need to finish Fairy Tales Part II to access them? (or at least get to the part where you have to kill them?) 2) How many restore pots would you recommend for a trip?
  24. Combat IS the best money maker in the game. Primary skills (skills that rely on gathering primary materials to be used to produce a final product) are useful as well. Secondary skills (skills which use the primary products to make the final product) are for the most part USELESS (minus runecrafting -- one exception that I can find)... unless you get some weird joy or satisfaction from training them for whatever reason, they are no longer viable money making skills. In fact, instead of making you money, they will COST you money at present market conditions. Examples (primary skills on left ---> secondary on right): Fishing --- > Cooking Farming ---> Herblore Woodcutting ---> Fletching Mining ---> Smithing Other primary skills which don't really allocate their resources to any specific skill: Hunting Thieving etc. For all these skills, the primary resources cost more than the finished product that the secondary skill produce. So in the end, you will be losing money if you move onto training the secondary skills... there is no profiting on that end... it's not economically efficient even if you use the primary skills to collect the primary resources yourself.. you're better off selling them and making a higher profit. Combat would also fit into the "primary skill"... and there are very few skills (if at all) that can be compete with its money making abilities at higher levels. None of the primary skills I listed can. I personally don't like training most skills except combat... mostly for economic reasons.. another is that combat offers some excitement as an end result of training (i.e. your drops after killing a monster are always different, whereas for other skills, its always the same product)... and combat seems to be the way to "show" your power. Combat skills are definitely the winners.
  25. You offering an example of something that is more stupid, well that's a bit stupid. You'd get your point across just by clarifying out what you meant. I thought what I said was clear enough, apparently not. There saying it would be wasted exp but if you get a 99 before you have completed all the quest arn't you wasting that exp aswell? I was showing that it wasn't the most stupid thing, which is wasn't. Not knowing who JAGEX is more stupid than what I said. This is besides the point though cos he has chosen what he is going to do so this is just spam so can we stop now or does any body else feel like carrying on this pointless debate? No offence, but your arguments suck. There are other reasons why one would do quests other than the miniscule defence xp they'll get (probably less than 200k for completing all the quests)... I personally do quests to either get access to new areas, for new armor/weapons, or as a prereq for another quest which gives me greater rewards. I never look at the xp awards.. When it comes to training a specific combat skill like defence, there are no other reasons as to why one would do it besides xp in that skill (e.g. defence). But you're right about one thing - he's made up his mind, and is thankfully [for him] not using the inefficient controlled method of training, so there's no more point in bumping this thread.
