  1. Why bother? If you don't want to get an iPod, there are plenty of other good and somewhat cheaper players available. Getting a clone is just asking for trouble imo.
  2. If you type .png at the end of filename it will save as a PNG , Even if it says something else in the drop down box.
  3. Songbird. I never really liked winamp that much. Songbird is sort of like a lightweight iTunes, which is cool. Addon support (just like firefox) is really nice too. +1. I've been using songbird a while now and it's great.
  4. I've always liked Firefox because it's faster than IE, has all the addons and is the most secure browser available when you use it with the NoScript addon. I don't really notice much of a speed difference between Opera and Firefox on my system anyway.

I'm probably a big PC gaming and Valve fanboy :? Considering TF2 on the PC is what I play mostly that's probably not surprising though.
  6. An epic round on TF2 when I went 20/0 as an engineer. I set up on the second capture point in steel in a place where pretty much no one could get me, especially when other engineers had set up their buildings.
  7. Tetris on the original gameboy, I still play it every now and then.
  8. Someone got HD working on an Aspire 1 a while back I remember, it could have been the more powerful version though. If you have a low end model you're going to be stuck with SD unfortunately.
  9. Adblock Plus - Enough said. NoScript - Makes Firefox THE safest browser available Download Status Bar - So I don't have to open the window every time Down Them All - For bulk downloading Nasa Night Launch - Theme I use, goes well with XP Zune.
  10. 360 controller is the one to go for
  11. Only ever used my brother's Dell laptop, but that seemed to work pretty well. Supposedly Asus make great laptops at the moment though.
  12. Yeah, you have to have Steam installed if you want to play TF2. It's not a bad thing either tbh, personally I find the support is excellent and the friends/server system is really useful. Don't forget to join the (unofficial) Tip.it group too.
  13. Just try on IE just to make sure it isn't Firefox. You might also want to start in safe-mode/disable your addons to make sure one of them isn't causing you a problem. Unless your fan is broken or blocked with dust I doubt overheating's a problem. If you want download and install Speedfan, and post a screenshot here. Computers can run fine up to 60-70C, but anything higher might be a problem.
  14. I am still raging that Bioshock is unlikely to make it to the big screen
  15. GAME is the only store that has a branch near to where I live, and I've never had any problems with it. They always seem to have some kind of offer on too, which is great. It's not a big shop, but considering the size of town I live in it's better than nothing. My only gripe is that the staff constantly ask me "if my PC meets the minimum spec" even though I know most of them :P I occasionally buy stuff on Steam too, but only if I can't find it in GAME. Despite all the advantages of downloads, I still like having a boxed copy.
  16. Thanks guys. This looks like the one I'm going to getting: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... VE+ZEN.htm Apparently it has an SD slot and a radio too :D
  17. Mono is basically one output while stereo has two (and it usually sounds better than mono). If you had two speakers and played something in mono then the same sound will come out of both speakers at the same time. If played something in stereo then each speaker can do different things at the same time. Something like surround sound will have like 8 different outputs including the bass. You could make a single keybind to make both record at the same time, but that's a tricky way of doing it. Haven't used Camtasia myself, but I'd search for a guide on how to record sound with it if isn't obvious. I know it can be done.
  18. Xfire is only worth using if you want it for all the other stuff, mainly the game hour monitoring (see my sig), friends and such. You need an account to use it, which would probably be a bit of a hassle. Only mentioned it as an example ;) If you're looking for a free screen recorder, Camstudio would probably be the one to go for.
  19. Toy Story 2 on the PS1. I had hours of fun on that game when I was a kid, it was so much fun to play :
  20. Frap, Xfire and most other screen capture programs have options to record sound as well as video. You just need to make sure you have Wave Out or Stereo Mix selected as the input. If you just want sound and not video then Audacity will do.
  21. Restart it once a day usually. I tried leaving it on once but it becames horribly slow, and seeing as it takes less than a minute to boot I gave up.
  22. dabs is an excellent place to buy stuff from in the UK.
  23. Well, I had a cheapo device from Tesco which expired the other day, and I'm looking to replace it with something a bit more 'high end'. Trouble is, I don't want an iPod (I have my reasons), and I have no idea what else is good. I've heard good things about Creative Zen, has anyone got one? I've got some guidelines as to what I want: [*:1g35r3rv]£100 or below. [*:1g35r3rv]Good sound quality. [*:1g35r3rv]16GB memory. Video and .ogg support would be nice to have too, but aren't essential. I'm probably going to be getting it at Argos. Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

+1 Dizzle :D I just LOVED Portal, and TF2 is always a hoot to play. Garry's Mod good too, but it's not technically by Valve though. My all time favourite though has to be Tetris, I've wasted so many hours on that game on long boring journeys and such, and it's a great time killer. It's such a simple idea and I never get bored of it :P
  25. Have been loving this since 3.1b1  Greatly improved speed and functionality over 3.0. With all the addons available for it, I can't see any good reason to use another browser. Well, with the exception of songbird maybe but that is basically Firefox anyway.
