  1. Careful with that. Marijuana doesn't slow all cancerous cells (shown to help prevent lung cancer while causing head and neck cancer!) and there is very insufficent evidence to point towards benefit or harm that marijuana can cause mostly due to its illegality. There are many powerful people who propose banning cigarettes, how do we convince such people to legalize marijuana?

Real men don't feel cold ...because they drink too much Scotch.
  3. A field trip to a lesbian wedding? I guess the zoo wasn't interesting enough.
  4. What does it treat?
  5. Bluetooth headsets. Or, rather, the mass murdering of all who own them.
  6. Not to attack you personally, but why do some people treat marijuana as some miraculous cure or medicine? Or is it just a "fight the power, man" type of argument?
  7. I completely agree, well, except for the mullet. I got my Michigan fishing license from a barber with a handlebar mustache and have wanted one ever since.
  8. I've never owned a car, but: [hide=][/hide] Not the same year, but they haven't significantly changed the design in quite awhile.
  9. I created the name 7 years ago when I first started taking french and thought I was clever. It's just stuck.
  10. I don't see the confusion or argument to any of this. Time is our creation to measure change we perceive.

I disagree. It's just a very select few who can properly wear them. The exact proportion of the population that is homosexual is difficult to estimate reliably, but most recent studies place it at 27%. What about women? I've seen some <85 pound women pull it off perfectly.. :uhh:
  12. That's still the republican bill. The democrats would find some reason to complain and we would have a repeat of what would happen today. There needs to be a bipartisan compromise. It's sad to see both sides playing politics at a time like this. Oh well, I guess it's pretty unreasonable of me to think that politics will ever be set aside to accomplish something quickly.

Try the tool called 'ruler' on Google Earth. I'm not sure on how accurate it is, but for me it is good enough. That's awesome! Thanks
  14. I say we just keep pointing fingers while the economy crumbles.
  15. So, assuming the housing crisis can only be solved by crashing, shouldn't we make sure the banks don't crash with it? As in, the 700Bil bailout. This would at least give people the option of taking out loans and would allow banks to loan money to firms. I'll admit though, I still don't understand how the housing market crash can't be stopped.
  16. Well, I doubt the plan will make any money, but that's not really a surprise. It sounds like there are differing opinions on the whether we should let the housing market run itself or we should help banks be able to loan money to people buying houses. If I had a full tim job right now, I'd want to buy a house because the prices in my area are down. Unfortuantely, I'd be hard pressed to find a bank that would loan me the money. So, because of that, I couldn't buy a house. The Fed doesn't get any tax money. It's separate from the government.
  17. Why do they have to hit bottom to recover? You don't seem to understand the bailout. The bailout will allow the banks to confidently invest again, then allowing them to take in more loans, which will allow them to loan people money to buy houses, thus, solving the housing crisis. You don't seem to understand real estate either. This is a great time to buy real estate, just not sell. Similar to it's a great time to buy stocks, just not sell them.
  18. Quoted from above. More or less answers your question/statement that posed earlier. Crash in housing prices running their course!? What are you talking about? I'll post the explanation of the bailout again: (Quoted from above)
  19. Not a problem, I'll try to explain. The 700Bil is going to be spent on the "bad assets" (simplified) of the banks that are driving their net worth down. These bad assets weren't bad before the crisis and will most likely increase in value back to normal after this crisis is over. The government plans to buy these assets so that the banks' net worth goes up and they feel confident to spend the money they are currently just sitting on. The government will then try and sell these assets once the economy returns to normal and will hopefully make back the 700Bil (or even a profit). I hope that clears some things up.
  20. Fact Check: 1930s Sigh, I'm not sure you deserve a response anymore. We came up with over 500 Bil for the Iraq war. Oh no, the republicans are trying to kill the economy  What makes you think that? Many of the failing banks did absolutely nothing wrong. The Fed was of the same thought during the Great Depression when banks were failing everyday. About half the banks in the US failed during the Great Depression. Many because the Fed did not help them. We need to do something. It's the best plan they could come up with, but they didn't want to give too many details so people wouldn't lose faith in certain banks. Ultimately, I think that hurt their support more than they thought it would. This is not a time for laissez-faire policy.
  21. Your CD is fine. It's an insured investment. The stock market is bad right now, but whenever they get something passed to help out the economy it will go back up.
  22. Ladies and gentlemen, here we have a prime example of the uneducated basing his ideas on stereotypes. Beautiful, isn't it? But, do they come in diferent colors? My wife prefers a dark blue. To contribute, very few can properly pull it off and usually when you see them in short hair it looks just as good as when it was long. I guess it's just preference really.
  23. The leaders are still trying to push people to switch, but I don't think they'll get enough before Pelosi will have to end it. Not to mention the DOW is going crazy. This isn't looking good.
  24. Since Islam is a religion do you mean immigration of ideas?
  25. The only ways you can get nicotine poisoning is if children eat cigarette butts, or if you are exposed to insecticides. An adult smoking cigarettes will not get nicotine poisoning. Alcohol poisoning is far more common than nicotine poisoning. Alcohol poisoning is very common. Most people know it as a hangover. An adult can get nicotine poisoning from smoking too many cigarettes, chewing too much nicotine gum, or putting too many nicotine patches on themselves; it's just not likely because most people don't just one day pick up a pack of cigarettes and decide to become a chain smoker. In other words, smoking cigarettes can give you nicotine poisoning whether it is common or not is irrelevant. Here's wikipedia on the topic.
