  1. There are just so many things wrong with this update... Firstly, rune boots are much harder to get and cost 88k, secondly, the alch value is outrageous(and proctect value), thirdly you can so easily sell them all to the shop for 22.5k each, and most of all, they were 2 gp each, why not have changed them to the normal new climbers? There wouldn't have been much wiff if they'd done the latter.
  2. It's not really worth it to alch them atm because that's too slow. Selling to store can be up to a million of them an hour for 22.5k ea. If this is not somehow changed back, do prepare to buy items and not have gold.(ie. invest in rares, armor)
  3. So, +15 prayer rune plate/legs anyone? or will this be released further down the road. wow, my 143 climbing boots turned into 10m worth of rock climbing boots.
  4. I really don't understand the answers- mining achieves 65k an hour and 68k an hour for agility, which should mean mining is more so worth using the horn on? am i missing something in this?
  5. rag, you know exactly what i meant and you still post those two videos? You might aswell post someone getting on hit by a chicken. The OP is 99 hp with presumed knowledge of brews/rocktails.
  6. found it: http://forum.tip.it/topic/268396-09-jun-2010-court-cases/ Found in the patch notes. Do mind that i havn't tested this.
  7. Bla Bla... you'll see that the chaotic staff has +15% mage damage on the same page..... If you really want to do some work, go trough some reacent patch notes on the update.
  8. Well sorry, using better weapons because they are BETTER didn't use the be a crime in the old days... Never used either.

That has to be one of the stupidest things i've ever read from a nearly maxed player. There is nothing "wrong" with getting xp in a skill because of a reward at a certain level... that's why EVERYONE trains skills, every skill has rewards at certain levels... Humans are driven by incentives. Hardly anyone would get 99 in a skill if they never unlocked new content along the way, do you really think people would enjoy getting 99 runecrafting if they had to do air runes the entire way? no. Not everyone has 10+ hours of free time a day, so no it isn't really fair that you have to obtain 200k tokens AGAIN to get a weapon that you already had. What i tried to say was that if you waste your time JUST to get the reward, it isn't worth the pain and that's why the OP is so upset about it. For a person who likes dungeoneering alot losing an item wouldn't be such a tragedy. IF you are going for 99 rc without any enjoyment at all in the skill, then yeah, that's wrong. Also by your logic, if i were to lose my divine i would be entitled to gain back the 500m+ 3b street? NO. If i risk it, then it's my problem, not anyone elses. As for dungeoneering rewards, do remember that the whole skill isn't released yet. Summoning flat out SUCKED with the first released and only after the second batch became this good. As it is supposed to be a hard skill meant for higher players, there will not be any kiddy rewards for newbs. I don't want a 5k token full rune, i want a 1m token super shield/weapon. The OP knew he would lose the sword, and the way he lost it(not by somethinf very unfortuanate like lag) suggests he overestimated his ability to stay alive. He atleast could have had friends be in other servers to help if something unfortuanate should happen, he took the risk and lost his bet. MH-ing is like the stock market, you either win or lose, you can't always not lose.
  10. Have you confirmed that this works? I'm pretty you get your seed back 5% of the time when you use the spade to clear the patch. I don't have the scroll of life, but I'd imagine that there would be a drop in the price of magic seeds if they became this easy to obtain. it doesnt, jamflex says chopping down the tree gives you the seed when digging it up does. You dont even have to 'chop' the tree down, paying the farmer to clear it also works - i have had 3 magic seeds back in a row, then nothing for another 75 trees, so don't count on the 5% thing to save you heaps. G Jagex quite reacently changed it so it's now SUPPOSED to be a seed back whenever you chop down a tree. If you pay the farmer, you can't get a seed back. I havn't tested the method(and why would i...) but what i said is in accordance with what jagex posted on their update thread. By the way, this doesn't make magic seeds easy to obtain, you try cutting down 20 magic trees....
  11. It's not really a discussion if you are forcing your opinion upon us and suggesting how something you think is broken can be fixed. Yes, this game has an implemented combat triangle, but, as most rs players know, as it hasn't always been there(there was no combat triangle in rsc) using any one combat class in runescape is flat out stupid. For pking, the triangle is very balanced and people hybrid. For monsters, hybriding doesn't make sense, so it's easier to use one combat style that is easiest to use. Since the combat triangle doesn't force you to CHOOSE a combat style and it was not meant for you to CHOOSE a combat style from the beginning, it's totally fine as it is. This is NOT some other game where you are supposed to be a dwarf for the rest of your life, this is runescape, and because of that, it is built differantly. High end melee/ranged have the same dps and magic dps is somewhat lower, with great special abilities and an use outside of combat(i can't stress this more, magic HAS an use outside of combat, melee and ranged do NOT). Equal opportunities? well if you have decided for yourself to become a representative of only one combat class, you are setting yourself up to fail. Just get over your faulty impressions about this game, the design is differant, and it works. As for being conservative, why not? is rs better now than it was 5 years ago? NO. Even the numbers prove that. Sure, everyone has a point of view about how this game could be better for THEM, but with jagex running this game, it's best to keep them to yourself. I don't write my dreams on this forum, why should you?
  12. Well it'd be stupid to argue with the idea of limited special because .... it will never happen. I'm not going to argue with your imagination. It's not a good idea and there is no reason at all to implement those things. What is your real point in this? Life isn't fair, still we all live, the game design was put in place by people other than yourself which means you have no say in the matter and can't really judge if it's broken...because you didn't come up with the original design. Other than that, i don't think all combat classes should be used equally within themselves. I'm not going to melee rock lobsters, mage kree'arra or range bandos, and that's how it's supposed to be. Every combat class isn't supposed to be equal in terms of use for every monster, and since magic is dominantly trained within non-combat spells, the cost of training it with fire surge isn't important. The game design was implemented for you to use the combat style that best fits your needs/skills and the enemys weaknesses, while you are not restricted to any one or two classes. This isn't wow or any other mmorpg where you have to choose a class. This is runescape, and you either adapt to the setup or not.
  13. For the best money with woodcutting you need to have scroll of life, ability to use hydra and 75 farming. Grow a tree at fally park and chop it down while banking the logs. Whenever the tree is cut down, regrow it with hydra. With scroll of life you have 5% chance of recieving a magic tree seed whenever you cut the tree down.
  14. Where would you be using it? Sure things might look nice on the paper but unless you are going to burst/barrage rock lobsters, it's useless. Same thing with bonecrusher.
  15. Perhaps the only thing you would realistically need to use DFS is wyverns, other than that rune defender is always better. Obsidian shield isn't best for anything.
  16. Well then, where are your ideas on non-combat melee and range training. It's obviously all broken atm because every combat class doesn't train the same way with the same cost? The combat triangle doesn't make you choose sides and hamper your ability to use the other styles, thus it's completely fine as it is. If you were forced to be a ''mage'' and couldn't train neither melee/ranged or use non-combat spells, it'd be broken. By the way, if i were allowed unlimited onyx(e) bolts for 90m on a chaotic crossbow, i'd take that over anything, it'd be ridiculously overpowered.

Risk ~ Reward. Next time, be smarter, you knew you were going to lose it upon death, why cry now. I think the penalty of having to get another 200k tokens if you lose it is quite balanced in terms of how useful they are. I'd never bring my cr to bandos because i know losing it is a possibility with my connection there. The reason you are mad now is because you got 80 dungeoneering specifically for the weapon, which is wrong in itself. Those that like dungeoneering and that will one day reach 120 won't have any problem getting all the rewards they want and recharge their weapons/armor at 200k/10 hours. Roberthreee- What? summoning isn't rewarding either until 68 summoning, and as dungeoneering is an endgame skill, it is supposed to be hard and reward those that are good at it. I don't really understand your obsession with crabs, though i'm not sure people would have been happy to be able to buy ~steel weapons upon 14 dungeoneering.
  18. I don't see how people here don't see the flaw in allowing a bigger assist limit- Low level player has to do the WORK to obtain the effigy, and the assist guy gets FREE and FAST xp for doing NOTHING. People spend half an hour every week doing penguins for 30k xp, now you can get that in a single day without any work. As for those who need the assist? Do you really need the assist? Do you at all understand that you are giving away your hard work, hindering yourself to train those skills when you could use the effigies. An effigy isn't a hot potato, it's a little something you keep for future goals in mind. For example, level 97 herblore effigy is worth 1m in experience, why would you knowingly give that money away? Also, if you are going to say that well, i can use all my effigies anyway and don't feel the pain, i have 4 effigies banked atm, 91 rc, 2x 93 rc and 95 mining. Sure, i could open them with other skills, but it's not worth the xp loss in those skills.
  19. Every combat class is not supposed to be the same. Don't try to fix what is not broken. Magic is not only a combat skill but can also be trained in other ways. Also, melee is now 200k an hour, too.
  20. Why do you at all need sound? Since i got my first cape days after release and needed to get it back now, i read muggis guide and the only explenation on the new animation(well, new to me) was sounds... How am i supposed to know how what sound retribution or what ever prayer makes? Rs sounds are horrible, and you don't at all need sounds for jad. Best way to do it is to be at the door corner when he spawns, meaning he is either near you, behind the wall or somewhere in the center, run to him as fast as possible and... USE YOUR EYES. You have around 10 seconds to find him before he starts to attack, and it's not as though he can kill you with one hit.
  21. I wouldn't say not wearing a full slayer helmet makes much differance if you are clearly looking to save money. But yea, the rune saving is a set effect.
  22. I have no desire whatsoever to get all my skills at 97. I find most skills extremely boring. Not to mention most skills are extremely expensive. It's not a matter of "patience". It's a matter of poor game design. You don't need all skills 97, you need 8 skills 91. The dragonkin lamp is a reward, and if you don't have the skills it's just that you would have to work for it. Also, it's not a poor design as you can trade the effigie in for a 5k lamp if yu want.

For ice strykewyrm tasks, as i've been doing them all day now(2.3k points to spend) i've got 145k magic xp per task so far with an average task of 127 wyrms. The higher figures by other might got something to do with the way magic xp works and my lovely arcane balst necklace.
  24. xpx replied to xpx's topic in Help and Advice
Not worth it for every task since the added combat ability doesn't overwheigh the cost and the hassle(having to heal every 5 minutes). I did use them for 1m slayer xp and it was just too much of a hassle. Also to be added, most people who have a load of overloads got them while going for 99 herblore, where as i didn't have that luxury.
  25. xpx replied to Fekambard's topic in Help and Advice
As far as i've seen, and this was new to me since i got my first fire cape 4 days after realease and only now got a second and third one on slayer tasks, you have to kill the healers. Just getting them to attack you doesn't(or didn't for me) seem to work.
