  1. why not add 5k chimp ice deliveries, then? One requirement making up like 90% of the hours needed to trim makes absolutely no sense to me, it's just overkill for one of many minigames which alot of people don't particularly like. There could be similar arguments about making other minigames make up the majority of time to trim, like making you kill each champion 50 times, but there is no logic behind putting so much on just one requirement(comp cape doesn't require 200m slayer/rc, for example).
  2. [/hide] No....just....no.... Someone is bad at keying, so you sell a hood drop they need? That's just being a total [bleep]. God forbid they're trying to improve their keying (which surprisingly happens when you....KEY!!! *gasp* the horror!!@!!@) Showing your true colours.... 999 is just mad that his stats are bad for dungeoneering.
  3. Everyone who has been playing for atleast 5 years has the opportunity to get the cape, so they haven't really taken anything away from anyone. The fact that the capes require membership is nothing unusual, and there is no logical explanation behind them being free to play(jagex makes updates for paying members, so this is nothing new). If anything, this just gives free players more reason to finally enjoy the full version of the game, which is a good thing(and yeah, nor i or jagex think free players deserve anything more than to be able to play a large part of the game for free, not a big ask, really, i actually have to pay for these updates).
  4. I don't really see this as jagex lieing to free players but just a simple miscommunication. Jagex never said it would be available to free players, they just said it would be available to everyone, and that is true under the assumption that everyone is able to buy membership. And really, if it were just about situations like this it would be fine, but i've seen free players complain about numerous subjects of what they are not getting but somehow deserve. As for botting, discussing it as a community really should be looked down upon, not publicly discussed- we ourselves can't do anything but look down upon it, anyway, and discussing leads to more people being interested in it.
  5. Can we just drop 2 really stupid subjects about every single [bleep]ing update? a) I'm f2p and i want this, that and those. b) Whining about/discussing botting. Really, these two should just be added to the GD rules as they never produce any worthwhile discussion.
  6. I think the trimmed list might be missing scroll of life and scroll efficiency abilities as the whole list can only be checked by those who already own comp cape, most would already have those. Hard to check but yeah, it would make a ton of sense.
  7. A hex below 100 will always be leeching, unless they can key to compensate for it. Considering the fact that only 1/4th of the things in dungeons are hexable and 1/10th are mageable(and some clash), it's safe to say that even with surge, your setup would not be ideal for most monsters in a dungeon and poor teammates(killing mages) would make it even worse.
  8. The funny thing about the drop is that it will more than likely hurt you. 8 levels to leech and even then there are enough hexes to go around, particularly with the better teams. A ccs would be much better in those situations(and really, a hex has to be compared to ccs+csb).
  9. Finish every thing the game has to offer only to obtain a cape that you only want because of it's stats, and you did not care about any of the things you had to do to get it (120 dung, champion scroll, 99 in non skilling skills etc). Yeah...exlusive is "fun". It's a way for people to become a bigger of a no life so they can go around in the game thinking they are special, when in reality they have wasted tons of time on a game where their achievement has no value what so ever in real life, and they...ABSOULTELY SUCK. There are alot of steps along the way... 10s-90s, achievements, max's, comp and trimmed comp, so don't worry, you don't have to get trimmed comp reqs just to get any of the capes. As the normal comp already has the stats there really shouldn't be anything against the trimmed cape. Danq, that cape is called cw 5k games cape, that's basically 90% of the whole trim requirement.
  10. as the trimmed cape really doesn't have any bonus over untrimmed one, i'd say it'd a fair addition to the game. Only freaks will get it, but it will be nice to have such a novelty item for utter pointlessness, and keep the normal comp very reasonable. Exclusive is fun. That's what keeps the game fun for most of high levels.
  11. cw games makes up like 90% of the whole requirement. I think 5k cw games and max cape normally take the same time to get(ingame hours).
  12. My bet is on them not bothering too much for something that will, at best, be used by a couple of new player per year(i'd guess there being 10 by this years end). Just not worth the effort, as comp cape has pretty reasonable reqs(the trim might even take just as much as the cape itself).
  13. really perplexed by this issue. I got mine, but i've had my rsc account active since the rs2 switch. Anyone else got it and can say how they have access to rsc(either reopenings or having the account manually activated since 04)?
  14. quitter.... shame on you  there's a difference between maxing and insanity well, i do feel your pain... probably not going to bother getting 99 agil(and just leaving that at 94).
  15. quitter.... shame on you
  16. Now please show me one with a beautiful colour scheme, because i've only seen those ugly pink ones(i know max can be customized so i'm hoping it's the same for comp). Anyway, i made my bank with this update. Grimy wagered that getting the comp cape would involve a chicken, and needless to say, i turned into a puppy :ohnoes: Worth every penny
  17. I will not wear the classic cape as it doesn't show anything about my character. I would wear the 10 year veterans cape as that one does show something about my character. See the difference? The rsc cape will be worthless as it's just a cape for people who cared enough to log in during the reopening. If it were just for people who logged in while rsc was the main game, having one would be an achievement. Why do we all(and i think it's a fair assumption) think cooking/fletching capes are worthless and rc cape is really special? yeah.... I agree that jagex has not dealt with the database of rsc characters well, but it really wasn't hard for anyone who cared about their character to log in enough to keep it from being deleted.
  18. The cape should really represent what it was brought out for- the people who played rsc when it was the main game. Thus, it's a huge insult to those people that players who have no idea about rsc but could login once in 08 would also get the honor. Kindof defeats the purpose of the cape, really. One way i think they could fix it is having your rsc skill total on the cape, as that is still one thing some of us can be proud of. That wouldn't really fix it for everyone, though. Many characters had their stats wiped due to a bug in reinstating their RSC accounts. Das1330 was one of those players, and he was a well-known classic player. They basically can't fix it because they screwed it up when they re-opened classic. It's everyones own fault for letting their rsc character go- i've actually made an effort to keep mine from being deleted with logging in every ~3 months. The total level on the cape would actually show that commitment, while determining who really played rsc and who didn't.

  20. *wall of text*
  21. The logs are very inaccurate right now (most of the keyers have like 4-8 floors logged while Andrew and Grimy have something like 30-50), and only about half the keyers have submitted sheets. So right now the log says Matt Marche is in the lead, followed by Michael, Nikcevich, and myself. But, again, this is pretty inaccurate; the four of us have between 4 and 6 floors logged. :P I would wager that over time and assuming every keyer has an accurate sheet, Tui and Andrew probably have the best averages. You can't tell who is the fastest keyer by looking at the times anyway. So much depends on teams and how they approach the dungeons that the keyer often has a secondary role in determining the time of the dungeon- the one thing a great keyer can do is avoid really slow dungeons, so with a great keyer, above ~28 is out of question(assuming they don't take total derps, ofcource).
  22. I would definitely say jimi takes the blame/honor. It's more correct to just give it to the starting keyer in basically all situations. A notes field should be there to note that you took over keying.
  23. Beware, mr mike can't use his deathslinger. As for the 11 min floor, what else would you expect from a suiciding team doing abandoned 1 floors. Really, not that great. I think there has been a legit 10 or 9 minute floor, but that too was aba 1. Best occ/warped i've seen is still at 15 mins.
  24. Your stats really aren't optimal for dungeoneering(all pures will do badly because of a high hp level relative to other stats), but if you are active and don't hide behind your lowish stats, you'll do fine in dgs. Also, a keyers combat level hasn't got much to do with dungeoneering. There are a few great keyers who have a lowish combat level in dgs.
  25. Though the numbers might seem similar, you have to consider that 2h is not a great weapon against low defense and is very accurate on high defense. The numbers against baxe are 420 vs 385 and against rapier 360 vs 308, so in those cases you really do need superior accuracy to be better, not even considering that there are items that improve max hit and prayer effects your melee max hit.
