Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.
I just timed and tested 12 furnished c2's for fishing xp and the results are as follows: 72 minutes for the floors 120141 fishing xp 13612 dungeoneering xp I tested furnished floors specifically for the hypothesis of them being the slowest floors(because of bosses, primarily, and i had 2 stomps) and could bring the good average of fishing xp down(i got upwards of 120k fishing xp an hour for ice floors, where the bosses are faster, there are less monsters and no poison), but it seems as though the method is always atleast 100k fishing xp an hour regardless of the floors. This test was done with 96 fishing, and as fishing level largely affects what the fishing spots contain, different levels will have different xp rates, and you can only receive above 100k fishing xp an hour with atleast 90+, but the method still provides more than 50k xp an hour for level ~70 fishing. Overall, i got 330k fishing xp over the 33 c2 floors, so around that amount is to be expected, though i did have a single floor with no fish(took 2 minutes) and one with 151 fish(13 spots, 24k xp, took 10,5 minutes). The best fishing xp outside of daemonheim is around 90k an hour for barbarian fishing with urns, dropping or low alching the fish, so this definitely is the fastest and most efficient fishing xp in game now, and not only that, you get to do your low dungeoneering floors solo without efficiently wasting any time on them. It's also likely possible to get some good woodcutting xp in those c2's assuming you bind a prom hatchet for the 70 c2 floors(do c2's for both resets) but it would require 100+ dungeoneering(a good hatchet is a must for efficient woodcutting). I am not entirely sure on mining, woodcutting and fishing(perhaps even cooking) in c3's as you can only ever get 5 ores per rock(usually around 3) so the xp would be very limited, and you'd need a good pickaxe for that, too. tl;dr, the sweepers are now moving on to fishing, meet us at DG fishers clan chat

Why have 25 skills when only 10 matter?

Will that be the case too when most of the supply of high end herbs comes from monster drops? You have got to remember that the herbs people mostly farm basically only came from farming(toad, snap and torstol), but now, there is a source that provides an equal or higher supply of those three herbs, cutting profits by atleast half, if not making it completely useless(seeing as you have to have juju farming potions to farm any herbs anyway). 5k drops of coal and 500 drops of raw sharks kill any chance those two skills had of making money(for reference, you can mine like 1k coal or 150 sharks in an hour). This is jagex basically saying: 'Oh f*** you, skillers'

And piss off everyone who had a shield(or shields) prior to the update. great...

There are alot of people who do herbs just for money(already 99 or don't care about levels after 85). Good swings when herb farming will be dead but oh, you can use that money you don't make anymore on trees to...well, have a tree.

It's not only about the worth of the drops but how too the drops change other aspects of the game. You do realize that uncommon massive drops of from slayer monsters(and slayer is one of the most popular skills) basically kills all need for anyone to ever farm herbs again? I can see this update having a devastating effect on farming not because the drops are worth alot(and i'd be fine with 1/10k 8m drops, as was left half), but that 8m can't be in stuff that will kill any other supply sources. Right now, they are basically giving out torva from abyssals, which seems highly unbalanced to me. For reference, a relatively new monster, ancient mage, drops torstols one at a time. A maxed person is able to kill as many of either of them, why should one drop torstol notes of one, the other 160?(i also got confirmation of the drop from a reliable source, and the pictures of 100 snap or 78 torst prove this madness).

But can you tell me the reason for this change now? like how are the steels from yesterday different from the steels of today that they should drop 2m an hour more? And it's not only about the new drops, it's good that they are adding those, but really, nothing in the game so far dropped more than 1 torstol at a time, now steels drop 160? come on, it's just not balanced at all. You don't get balance at all, do you? tip: Riding a bicycle on your head is not smart. I'm all for new drops and new drop tables, as long as they are balanced(which, evidently, they aren't).

used to be worth alot? so should we all be trading left halves for partyhats now? I don't understand how the prices of items 5-6 years ago matter now, when those items have been utter garbage for so long. What is the logic behind dragon legs being 500k and steels now dropping 8m worth of torstols? Like, how was there a change necessary?

Inb4youlearntoreadandgetthattheycanmanuallydeletedrops  If there were so few drops, it shouldn't take more than a minute for them to delete the drops people got due to bug abuse. And still, i see no reason for jagex to completely screw over all drop tables because of row. Most of the new drops aren't even realistic(160 torst, 5k coal).

I can't see anything wrong with his explanation and he clearly states Jagex's reasoning for not doing a rollback. But if you feel it is enough to leave the game over, well, goodbye I guess? What? their explanation was basically that they screwed up and they don't care. quite the same as it was with climbing boots. I don't want to know how few(what else can they say than that really noone got an advantage?) benefited from this bug, i care that that when they screw up, they should fix it. There definitely would have been hardly any complaining as the people who benefited knew it was bug abuse. As for the update as a whole, it started out with good news with dungeoneering, as most everything is better in that department, but they really laid an egg with drops. 10k ring giving 500k-2m more an hour(steel dragons drop 160 noted torstols, apparently)? What the hell were they thinking...

Waterfiends
You should only be doing waterfiends in ct if you have a good combat familiar that will speed up the kills. Looking as you don't have extremes, curses or a decent familiar, you should stay as far as you can from ct waters. If you really wanted to, it would be possible for you to tank waters for 13 minutes with tort carrying supplies(lots of brews), but you'd lose so much time in that frame that the extra bit you'd get from a low level summon wouldn't help at all.

How are you preparing for Bonus XP Weekend?
Man you've really slipped in the pro-trolling department. I had a busy weekend and didn't care much for rs so i made a few super prayers and then got a fishing level. Nothing major, but i didn't prepare anything either.

Lmao, i have no idea how noone noticed that small mistake before. You should definitely join the sweepers

I still haven't died at Nex...knock on wood. Everything that can KO you gives you time to safe against it, and her combo potential is lower than Corp's. Yet still always at least 1 team death per trip  The problem is that not everyone has the best connection, so basically, when you screw up on her special attacks you are susceptible to dieing. I agree though that it's normally hard to die at nex because of her constant, lowhitting damage.

Barbarian fishing
If you want easy, low-alching is the way to go. For speed, cutting is definitely bad.

I'm in the same boat as you, so I wouldn't mind going with you. Although I probably have outdated information about what to do now. The few forum teams there are all seem to want people who are already experienced and threaten to kick those who aren't, so I can't really join any of them without having been before. Unless we find a full team of people like us I can't see a trip happening though. I've asked several people before and we've ended up not going. Realistically, it's best to start off with a big ls team from rsof and work your way up from that. Even the dgs clanchat is some sort of way to gain respect and be accepted to some nex teams, but really, trust is crucial when dealing with new people. If noone knows anything about them, it's hard to take them on your team. And the rsof suggestion is purely for learning nex'es attacks, which you really can't do by just watching videos. It also helps avoid stupid mistakes that some people still make(rol, tab out) and likely will give some practice to looting graves(and how to do it effectively).

Stewing
I'm guessing that you'd have like 5-7 more seconds if you used berserker prayer with the boost once you log back in, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Dice game
Scammer games(happily named) can be real, but they usually aren't, just as there can be nice people on the streets who give candy to children, i bet my life on you not wanting your children to take any.

I think the effigies and slightly more common nex drops would be good enough to compensate for the luck lsp could bring to you, and i don't think too many of the nex hunters do ls corp anyway(i don't really know, just guessing). As for tanks, they could just always be given a +1% share over other people to compensate for the lack of effigies(i assume not many care about charms with 99 summoning).

1. derp 2. ring wont work in lootshare, you will have to free for all and wield the ring before she dies and hope you get the drop Rings don't [currently] work with lootshare. Whose not to Jagex decides to finally let them be useful? This is Jagex. C'mon. :geek: The update will give an advantage to people who do ffa(or more likely ffa split). I never really completely understood why the nex hunters dumped ffa anyway, but i'm sure that with the ring update and cere being so low, they have reason to move back to it.

200M in all Skills
From the way they change displaynames, i'd say that's definitely the case.

Horn worth using?
Basically, as the skills the horn povides for are all a massive grind, the horn is always worth using UNLESS you are doing mine/superheat gold with gloves. For better horn charging, get level 5 in one class(attacked only if you are 138 and have a good bank) and really get great at that particular class so you can join fast 'pro' teams.

Wtf mike, why'd you do that? You key much less often and would benefit much more from the drop than cheesy does... Uhh, and cheesy....you are one lucky fella....

Because it seems your reply isn't sarcastic... WAT? Some single pieces can sell for huge amounts because bxw has cut into the supply and the demand has stayed pretty much the same. This is definitely not a buyout, as buyouts barely work these days, and only do if done smart(not buying items for 2x the price).

Advanced Gnome Until 99?
The xp difference between the two courses is like 72k vs. 67k, but as you stop failing advanced barb at 87 with pies(they cost nothing, anyway), there is really no reason not to use the better course. It's also closer to BA, so you can go and train easily after filling horn(which you should do).
