And we have to go crazy to craft minds (losing one's mind, get it? No wonder why the Barrow Brothers lost their minds, they drop heaps of them!)

For leather you need: Money (to tan the hides) 1 Needle 1 Reel of thread per 5 leather. Go to al kharid bank, withdraw cash, needle, threads and fill your inv with hides. Now put your needle in the last space in your inv. Walk to the tanner (north of the furnace), right click on HARD leather, and select tan all. Now, click on needle, then double click on the hard leather beside the needle, then double click on the needle, back to the leather, etc. until all leather is crafted, bank the leather bodies and withdraw hides, repeat.

you need to shoot them with a bow.

Dagganoth Hides are essential component to ALL Fremennik armor (The Rock Shell, Skeleton and Spine armor sets), however you need a second ingredient so that they would be able to make those armor. Click Here for a comprehensive guide as to how to make these armor. Be aware that you need a partner.

Why hard leather bodies instead of coifs? Hardleather bodies are FAR faster than coifs if you do the double clicking method.

also a spawn in Tirannwn, fastest and safest of them all.

replace the Slayer Dart with Fire Bolt on Chaos Gauntlets. Reason? Its not economical at your level. I suggest get it to at least 70 before you start using it for barrows. Other than that, you are good. Maybe replace that shield with Broodoo shield (so you get better bonuses everywhere) and holy symbol with an unholy one and you are good to go.

I dont like the concept of dancing with the Dharok, ESPECIALLY with ancients. I dont like ancient simply because it wastes too many runes.

also it is different from the rc abyss in that the fairy abyss is not a multicombat area.

I have a guide in my siggy, you might wanna check it out. Also the Tip's barrows guide has safe spots too. Basically what you do is you kill ahrim and karil in their crypts, and quickly find the tunnel. use the tunnel rocks/ladder to block the melee brothers so you can mage them without taking hits. However the trouble is Karil, he is very accurate and requires a very high combat level to kill him efficiently with melee without prayer (forget about maging him, you wont hit him as well as he can hit you). Ahrim would also be a very major pain because he hits rather well and high even through karil's top and bottom (which has higher magic def than black d hide)
-
You can do barrows, but unless you get something worth over 1m every 10 trips, you will lose money. Get your Range up to at least 50, otherwise ahrim is going to be pain. You are right, darts is good, but: 1. It is only efficient if your mage is higher than 70 (so the max damage of the darts is 17), otherwise, stick to Fire Bolt and Chaos Guantlets (Strike spells are too slow, Blast and Wave spells are waste of money) 2. Ahrim is a mage, he would naturally have the highest Mage defence (because mage level counts towards mage def as well), you will be there for ages trying to kill him with mage, you definitely need ranged Other suggestions: 1. Def as high as possible 2. Prayer as high as possible
-
1. Unless you safe spot all the melee brothers, and have a very high level def (in the 90's preferably), it would be very very difficult, if not impossible 2. Depends on what spell you are gonna use, but my suggestion is, and this applies to defence equally well : The higher, the better.

Doing Slayer missions? Lunar, Nothing requires my modern mage (if it does, it gets burthorped) Castlewars? Ancients Player Killing? Modern backed with an ancient (if I were to PK, i hate it with a passion) Barrowing? Modern. Cant be done with others for me (lunar dont work very well, cant attack with them is a slight problem. Ancients are too expensive) Kalphite or King Black Dragon killing? KQ doesnt matter, i use House Tabs. KBD Lunar mage all the way, its the only spell that helps Staking? Ancients probably Every day use? Lunar, then Modern. I only use Modern for High Alching (not even teleports, i have a portal for all of them)

If you want a Genuine Opinion from me: There is no 'minimum level' which you can kill ahrim with (hell i'd try with level 1 ranged :P), but like anything in barrows, the Higher, the Better. That applies for Defence, HP, ranged, Mage and prayer. The reason for Higher ranged is that the D Hides are stronger at higher levels not only at ranged bonus but also at mage defence, making you kill ahrim quicker and have less need for food and/or p pots, which works hand in hand. I tried it with lv 60's ranged on Ahrim, it kills pretty fast, so i would say 50's when using rune arrows would be ok too. Now... do a few runs normally, and if you find you have many prayer points left over after killing Ahrim, you could consider Switching on your Hawk Eye/ Eagle eye prayers, your prayer wold drain a bit fast though. Oh, and if you can afford it, ranging pots are good too.

Ivan Strom. Is everything what we think it is?
chenw replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
Ivandis could very well be just another vampyre, because Vyrewatch are immune to Rod's effect, so its either that Vyrewatch was a new species of Vampyres (which i doubt), or perhaps Ivandis was using the rods to control the lesser vampyres to form an army. If Rod of Ivandis was really a weapon to destroy Vampyres, it would have the power to destroy with the special attack of the rod, but not control it (Saradomists would NEVER consider controlling anything none-saradomin, they prefer to destroy it). Either that, or the Rod of Ivandis was NOT supposed to be Silvthril Alloy, but some other alloy that forms a far more powerful version of the Rod, which perhaps has even the capability to Control the Vampyre lords themselve. I would suspect that Daelyte Ore plays a part in the contruction of the material of the rod, a silver bar (perhaps blessed with holy powers), daelyte ore, Ruby , enchanted by lv 3 enchant and Finished with Blood Altar blessing. -
I tried that before, i dont recommend it unless you have over 80 attack, super attacked AND you dont melee Karil the Ranger. His Melee Defence is actually quite high, compared with ranged def anyway. Mage Prayer, Eagle Eye and Karil Crossbow kills in 15 bolts max. Thats 30 seconds. I tried whipping Ahrim before (and only whip, ran outta dds specs), took 1 minute. Your choice really, but Ranged has potential to kill quicker.
-
The higher the better. 70 is the most recommended so that you kill hin quick. At low levels, its ALWAYS rune arrows, at higher levels, you might be able to use Broad arrows/Addy arrows as substitutes. Again the Higher the Better.

It is entirely your preference as to how often you loot your kingdom, but i know for certain that the longer you leave the kingdom for, the more bonus you get because there are more overlaps of bonus interval ammounts. Again thats entirely your preference, as long as you make sure you have more than 750k at all times and keep topping up your popularity, you are fine

Barrows For Lower Levels - ed 25 Oct 2006 (AOW discussion)
chenw replied to Satenza's topic in General Guides
Retire in peace my fren, the title of Barrows God has already been handed down to me, dont worry, i'll take good care of everyone down there (and some of the stray death piles too :P) have fun in f2p! -
you need a set construction level to actually buy a study, you cant buy it off from streets. If construction is too expensive and/or too much hassle, either borrow another person's house (bring your own soft clay and runes) or buy the tabs.

Sorry, i had a calculation error, he charges every 12 trips. If you ask butler to unnote the logs and plank them, he charges every 120 planks, so it could cost 500k on top of the plank costs (which is 3m for 12k planks) If you plank them yourself, and ask butler to unnote them for you, half the butler costs, it becomes 250k.
-
You can make all types of Teleport Tablets that Normal Magic has except Trollheim and Ape Atoll Teleport. The different teleports need different lecturns but your main Concern is any 'eagle' lecturn (NOT a Demon lecturn, VERY big difference). For Lumbridge you need an Eagle Lecturn (made from oak, which is built in study), requires 47 con (44 if you use crystal saw, 42 if you use Butler to make you a +2 con tea. +3 con will not be possible at your level.) If you want more details, use tip it's construction tables and check study
-
the quicker one is asking your Butler to unnote logs and plank them hands down, he charges every 240 planks, so 12k would have him charge 50 times, 250k beside planking. If you plank the logs yourself, cut the cost down by 1/2, but you need to double your time dedicated to construction.
