  1. All I have to say about PC is that it really messed combat levels up, causing their to be way more high levels, and the average level that is considered "low" to increase. That game ruined it for the high levels who earned their combat another way. I'm personally glad that it was nuked a bit by Jagex. All I have to say about the duel arena update is that people whined and complained that Jagex do the drastic measures to get rid of real world item traders. They finally did just that, and people still moan and groan that it "ruined the game". While the duel arena update did not really do much to combat the gold farmers, it probably did a lot to stop most of the low-key GP sellers. The grand exchange was just released and we really don't know how it is going to affect the economy yet..
  2. If you are referring to the screenshot that was circulating around of Mod Peter saying that he keeps asking Andrew and Paul to get rid of them, it was a fake. And I told Fosterchild to stop spreading it around because it WAS FAKE. It was a poor attempt at price manipulation.
  3. I recall one of the Jmods posting on the forums stating that they do IP ban, but the problem is being able to proxy and change IPs.
  4. Yeah I agree here, and as I posted somewhere else, I don't think it is as black and white as everyone thinks that it is with banning real world item traders.
  5. You seem really ignorant on this issue because what I can dissect from your post is that you think everything is automatically done. Those accounts are usually run by real people and they are called gold farmers. Real people are able to see visual codes, and if one account is banned they will just go make another. There may be one person to multiple accounts but for the most part they are actual people. You can get them to respond and I actually had a conversation with one of them in simple Mandarin (Found out his age and name), while most of the time they just cuss you out in Mandarin. IP addresses are changeable, through dynamic IPs, proxies, dial up, as well as other things. There are a lot more gold farmers then just level three accounts. The level three ones seem to stick to f2p or things such as tanning hides, because the accounts are probably banned quickly. Have you ever seen a level 126 gold farmer? I have. A while ago there were green dragon gold farmers and even blue dragon ones for a while. There were even gold farmers close to rank 21 on the range high scores. The wall on tutorial island is the same concept as a pin code to enter when creating an account. Obviously I'm not against this and it COULD help (because who knows if this people use automated scripts to make accounts or do tutorial island?), but for the most part it probably will not. You can not judge someone to be an autoer just because they do not respond. It may be extremely obvious if someone is an autoer but there is always a chance that they are not. Jagex can not do that. Unfortunately the situation is not as "black and white" as everyone wishes it were. It is not as easy as 123 or pie to get rid of the gold farmers.
  6. Likely story. He just "happened" to quit when you made a skiller.. yeah ok. Sorry, that story is too cliche. Come up with a better one otherwise you are still an item transferrer. Guilty until proven innocent these days on RS
  7. You are essentially doing the same thing that you are preaching against with that statement. However, it's obvious that the game is getting easier and it looks as though it all started around the time of Cook-All. Look at the updates before then, none really seem to stick out as a huge leap in xp gain or give anyone further protection from scams. It is quite apparent that Runescape is aimed at kids. However, that doesn't mean that it is for kids. I actually think that it is more advertised as a family game. This is semi-off topic, but my personal opinion about the updates that protect players from danger is that they are only sheltering everyone from it. Players aren't exposed to that type of danger anymore so they never learn, and that will most likely lead to something worse and bigger happening to them later on.
  8. The only reason they have a 13+ rule is because of a certain law in the UK. I think it is something about only children over the age of 13 are allowed to give out information over the internet, without parental consent. If that's not it, it's close to it. It is NOT Jagex's rule.
  9. I think a lot of people see a pure account, or any account that is not their MAIN account as a throw-away type account. They can be as rude as they want and their mains won't be banned for it. I'm not saying all pures act this way, obviously.
  10. [GRAMMAR NAZI] Ignorance is a state of lacking knowledge Ignorance is NOT behaviour. [/GRAMMAR NAZI] Finally someone corrects them yet it seems to have gotten ignored. Definition of ignorant on thefreedictionary.com: 1. Lacking education or knowledge. 2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake. 3. Unaware or uninformed. Yeah I fail to see how someone with a bad attitude is "ignorant".
  11. I think theres a fine line between "online dating" and soliciting yourself over RS trying to get an RS bf/gf, or having a relationship entirely on RS. If someone wants to RS date, let them. It's their life not yours. While I don't agree with the 12/13 year olds on RS that have a "gf" and knowing nothing else about them, once again it's their life, and if the "gf" turns out to be a guy they will learn from mistakes. I do, however, think there is nothing wrong with online dating when you actually know the person a little more then the text on RS or an instant messenger. There are a lot of people hooking up and meeting up in real life from the net, especially nowadays. Obviously you need to make sure you actually KNOW the person.. and you aren't talking to someone completely different, but their are ways to do that. I can think of two people that I know who did this and many others I've heard mention someone they know who met their significant other online.
  12. I take this from the article: And say LOLS. Since when has anyone went out and thrown a football for 4 hours a day every day of the week. Ok thats not really looking at the big picture, but even so, when does anybody actually play sports for the average 6-7 hours of free time after school/work everyday? Obviously it isn't only referring to sports, but ANYTHING. Most of whats been said on this thread is all there needs to be said about articles against gaming. Not to mention most of us are actually talking to people online while doing it, so it's not like we are acting as though we are reclusive and not talking to anybody or having any social contact.
  13. Sorry 99 slayer at lvl 3 is not possible. Using all genies would take 20 years, literally. RS will probably not be around by then. Using recoils takes around 5 years of constant training. Don't forget the occasional 1s that will be hit. No doubt, in 5 years of carefully hitting a low leveled monster to recoil them, it will level the combat to at least 10. So it is possible at a low level.. I suppose. But HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely, beyond anything else in RS [Don't take those words literally and find something that is less possible -.-] Don't count slayer.
  14. There is always a chance that someone doesn't say where they are from or someone gets left out.. so its hard to prove who is best in a country IMO.. Unless its something obvious.. like rank 2 overall being best in China
  15. 200m xp in thieving - because i like it 25m xp in crafting - because i like it 21m xp in fishing - because i like it 18m xp in firemaking - because i like it 93 fletching - wanted money and to get up one of the lower stats i have, was going for 99 but i went back to thieving after i got 93 back in september
  16. no you are missing the big picture. the point of any games is to do what you want and have fun, if skill pures don't wanna fight things and train combat, why should they? Yeah really. I'm pretty sure the point of a role playing game is to form your character how you want it.
  17. open your eyes people.. there are untrimmed hp capes all over the place LMFAO . i dont see how people are saying that its so rare
  18. the way it was explained to me was that 200m xp, is 200m xp, there is no "hidden xp" and the highscores recognize everyone who has exactly 200m xp, as merely 200m xp. So.. there is nothing distinguishing each person from eachother, so when jagex "messes with the lower tables" (whatever the hell that is, im assuming updates the highscores like bug fixes) it puts the names back randomly because it CAN NOT distinguish who got it first. you have n0valyfe who quit in what? october so obviously hasn't cooked anything, and zezima says he hasn't either. the rank 1 fletcher also quit long ago.. its just something that everyone has to live with, the highscores hop :\
  19. Hiya Most of the people above answered already, I use knights of Ardougne with gloves of silence, which is about 180k-200k xp an hour, depending on talking, randoms, and noobs killing the knight. It was previously about 100k xp an hour BEFORE the gloves, which I reached approx. 84m xp before gloves. I have tried pp gotten about 1m xp from it. Yes skillers can use it with 10 hp but its drastically slower then knights. Around 160k xp an hour, evidently eating and using anti-pots every couple of minutes actually makes that much of a difference, since the high HPers can get 200k-230k xp an hour with it, but really don't eat or use anti-poison. hope that clears up any confusion :)
  20. Inuyasha8750 is a psycho, and TBH you can't say hes not if you don't know him lol.
  21. No the 2b limit is a java limit NOT jagex. It is not exactly 2.1b its around , its a bunch of numbers (like 2,193,492,495), 200,000,000 is a rounded number and it just seems like Jagex did that themselves. And to the person who said Empror1 was first to 200m - No Xxx Neo Xxx7 was first to 200m in any skill, fletching.
  22. Oh you do have a point I never thought about that. You are right.. Who wants rank 23 thieving at 200m xp? lol.. No one.. Not me at least.. I bet that once skills get a certain amount of 200m people in it, it will start slowing down. Cooking has already, with the occasional new person.
  23. I don't see it getting common.. Lets say a free stats becomes 300k xp per hour, thats still like 6 months of work. Unless jagex totally screws us over and makes things faster then they already are, its going to be a long while before they are "common". And yes nicka45, only no lifers go for the big 2 million xp  Please try to add all the zeros next time.
