  1. You could play Motorstorm, or Resistance: Fall of Man. Both atleast good games, maybe not 90%+ games, but they could tide you over (and both have sick graphics).
  2. PS3=Awesome system. By the end of 2007 it will have a very competitive library.

As other have said, like Canada all Scandinavian countries, but some of the wealthier Asian countries are catching up at a remarkable rate. Obivously Japan is already caught up or surpassed many other countries, but other's aren't doing that bad either.
  4. What you've said it pretty much all good, except the Sonata's 450W power supply is completely useless. If you don't get one that's DOA like half the people, the chances it fails in the first 6 months are almost 100%. Otherwise it's a pretty good case, but you'd likely have to pay for a good power supply. Most modern motherboards support 8 gig, even though XP doesn't even officially support 4. It won't show up. But with Vista I believe it supports like 16 or something ridiculous. Sata drives are pretty much on everything modern now aswell.
  5. You guys gotta play the Rid[bleep] game. Even people who don't like the movies really like the game because it's amazing. And for people like me who do like the movies, it makes the movies even better by expanding on the Rid[bleep] character.
  6. I still go back to RT1 from time to time, it's really deep but still very user friendly. It's fun to just be able to sort of sit back and relax while playing a game.
  7. Yes, it's excellent. A nice scary game, though obviously still not as good as SS2. For an underrated game, SS2 is overrated. Meaning, while it should be acknoledged by more people as a great game, I didn't draw even close to as much enjoyment out as people (PC gamers) told me I would [reasons: jamming weapons, terrible graphics (normally not a problem, but these were atrocious), respawning enemies...The little things add up to take a lot of the satisfaction out of it). Though I Deus Ex is easily as good as people say. I guess we'll see how good Undying is when I play it later this week :).
  8. Me and my bro LAN'ed our way through the entire Diablo 1 just this past summer. It's really one of those games that just never seems to lose it's relevance. The graphics don't seem bad, they just seem low res. And it is remarkably creepy, because there's some actual danger (if D2 took more skill and had harder enemies, it would be scary too).
  9. That's a bit of an exaggeration. Most movie game's are just the people wanting more money (ex. All those CG movies that have a game where no game is warranted [Cars, Shrek, Happy Feet...They all have them for the obvious reason of money]). However there are actually a surprising amount of decent-to-exceptional games based on movies. Tron 2.0 Dark Forces Jedi Knight (+expansion) Jedi Knight 2 (+ Jedi Academy) Chronicles of Rid[bleep]: Escape from Butcher Bay Knights of the Old Republic Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Now, unless there's atleast 7000 movies with games... Point is, a good game is a good game. Most games based on movie are only bad because of their limited time constraints, bad source material and no real reason for being. Movies can make great games if the devs actually put the time in.
  10. Clive Barker's: Undying Anyone played it?
  11. You can't play any games on a MAC.

Who's Quentin Tarantino? Other than that, it seems like I would love it. How do you not know Quentin Tarantino? O.O He directed: Sin City Reservoir Dogs Pulp Fiction and both of the Kill Bills He only directed 1 scene of Sin City.
  13. :-s If you started something like Far Cry on the hardest mode, you'd end up playing it 4 or 5 times...All the reloads would have you playing the same areas over and over (there's no quicksave IRC, unless you get a patch), so you'd actually be playing the same thing over and over a lot more than someone playing on easy and moving up (as someone who starts on easy probably doesn't have the cajones to play something that difficult at its hardest setting). So when you say you "gamers" like to spend less time, what you actually mean is you like to spend more time. I like to play games for a bit of challenge, but mostly I have way too many games and not enough time to play it. So I don't have time to be going back and reloading every 30 seconds, it just doesn't work.
  14. 300-Pretty awesome, no fluff. I actually liked the historical accuracies, they made the story more impressive and testosterone-filled, more black-and-white (storywise, that is). And there was just some awesome action, nothing unexcepted, which in the case of this movie is a good thing. Quite entertaining :).
  15. I just ordered my new computer, it's got awesome specs more than capable of Vista. But I stuck with XP, partially for the price (saved 130$), and partially for what I call legacy games. If Vista can't even run all modern (post 2004) games in all their greatness, what chance does it have of playing games from 10-12 years ago?
  16. If there's 3 modes, I normally go with Medium. It usually gives a good mix of some degree of challenge, without having to reload. Reloading takes away from games so much, it really detracts from the experience. However, if there are 4 or 5 modes, I'll normally go for the second most difficult one. So I tend to like a bit more challenge, but not enough to make me want to pull out my hair. Only time I go with super hard is either replaying (actually, come to think of it I never immediately replay games; but if I did I would), or if it's a no-story shoot-em-up (Serious Sam).
  17. I just watched The Prestige. I think I'm getting smarter :). See, the thing for those of you who don't know is that this movie is jam packed with twists. Knowing that going in is not normally a problem, I'm usually not good at spotting them anyway. However, perhaps that there were so many small twists early on, I began to start expecting twists, and with this expecting I was able to spot and explain EVERY major plot twist that came, usually before the director likely wanted you to. Some of them are very subtle (like a reward for those paying attention), while others are I just deduced because stuff seemed...suspicious. And some I got just because I was really paying attention, and anyone paying attention should have got anyways. However, I don't believe this to be a problem with the script. I think it was an excellent script, but I think handled differently it could have been much more entertaining. While normally I like Christoper Nolan's directing, I feel he made it much too easy to see the twists, and you aren't as...thrilled as you might should be. So it was pretty good, but I think it could have been better.
  18. For games like BF2142, RAM is EVERYTHING. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but those games LOVE 2gb. I'm assuming SupCom does aswell. Personally, I wouldn't dish out the money for a 7900 when you have a 7600. You won't see enough improvement to warrant the cost. As someone said, if you could afford it I'd say go right on up to a 8800 GTS-320MB (or 640MB if you're feeling particularly spendy). But if you don't want that, 2GB of RAM with a 7600gt would probably be nice than 1GB and 7900GT for many games. And if you plan on going to Vista and playing anything at all, 2GB is pretty much what you need. 4 is nice too :). Obviously SATA and PCI-E are the best, there's pretty well no argument there.

I could easily write a long essay on the depth's of Warcraft 3 and psychological qualities of it, but I won't (just yet...). I would say it's easily the best RTS I've played, AoK coming in second. I don't play that many, but I really wanna check out Company of Heroes when my new computer arrives.
  20. I'm going to have to agree with Nad. Halo 1 is the worst game I've ever played. Not because it's a horrendous game, it's a 70% IMO. But I have a tendancy to play 85%+ games almost exclusively, with the occassional high-70's-lows-80's game.
  21. Yesterday some 'activist' brought up during a seminar that she is against America (I'm living in Canada). It was completely unrelated to the topic. She didn't use the word "government". She just said she's against America and George Bush. And there was absolutely no evidence to back it up, it was really like, :-s . Now, I wanted to argue with her, just for the sake of arguement (I like to take the opposite side, just to make me people panic a bit), but I didn't feel I had enough evidence to really hit my point home. All the media we're spoon-fed seems to say we should all hate America/George Bush. Can anyone give me something I could use in an arguement against someone such as this? As all the media I've recieved is somewhat biased, I've pretty much neglected all of it until I get something real.
  22. I watched Babel. For the most part it was good, with occassional periods of excellence. Easily the best story cycle, the one involving Rinko Kikuchi (had to look that one up : ), is probably the one that's going to stick with me the most. The acting was absolutely superb in that story stream. In fact, all the acting in the movie was quite exceptional. It was sort of sloppily told story-wise, unrealistic to say the least. However, it was still quite a good film overall.
  23. My dad can manage his way around. He's literate enough to be able to work with a computer (he uses Excel like every day at his job, so he pretty much knows the ins and outs of that program). Mom-Ugh. Impatient, can't type, can't remember how to do simple tasks (her: how do I make this go away? me:alt-tab [every day for months]). She somehow doesn't even know how to browse websites effectively. If she goes online in search of something, even if she already has the website and just needs to find information off it, she takes forever.
