...Jeez...just another player trying to play Rune|Scape the way they like to...haha I wonder what would happen if someone split your milk? Anyway, I guess it has the same concept and idea behind "buying skills". Some will say "Using the quick way isn't an acheivement" Others along the lines of "I did it the 'honest' way" But if you really think about it, there really isn't any acheivement - just two different methods used. I say let them be, why spoil their fun (or for some challenge)?
-
I know that some 'buyable' skills such as fletching and cooking are easier compared to other skills. This was the precise reason why I trained fletching. At that time of training fletching I thought that it would be my only 99 skill, as I was too pre-occupied with having fun e.g. pking, clan wars (in old wild), castle wars and some other mini-games. I always try to find the easiest and fastest way to train a skill. Fletching was actually fun as well - I got to chat to friends or the random people who were at the bank. But, when it gets to the point where another player wants to mock your cape, that's pretty sad.

I rarely got bullied when i was in highschool - maybe just a few wise [wagon] comments. If they start talking sh*t about you. Respond with something like "Haha your a funny c**t aren't you?" Just show that you don't give a sh*t. Body language and the way you respond is important. People aren't dumb. They can tell when you are ignoring them, but can also see if their comments are getting to you. Don't let the comments get to you, again show them you don't give a sh*t. Or do Muay Thai and start cracking some skulls.

Wow the profit margin from nature crafting has dropped considerably. I remember buying natures at 320 - 350 each when pure essence prices were around 80 - 110 ea. If a merge were to occur the essence prices would drop to the value of todays normal essence price - around 38 gp (maybe slightly lower). So I do not really see an advantage for both parties, except for the runecrafters. Anyway, nature runecrafting will never die - Just the profit margins will be far less then it was before.

Russell Peters. As long as you are joking it's fine. But there are some situations where it isn't appropriate.

1,413 views now... O how i wish i never saw it... Sounds like a cool idea. Any ground rules? e.g no swearing? Can a bongo be used? Good luck to whoever wins.

Ice giants can't be safe spotted anymore?
Rollyboy replied to ice age mage's topic in General Discussion
Would this be classified as a bug? I was reading KB on 'Ranged - The Basics': "You cannot attack a monster or player if you do not have a direct line of sight (for example, if there is a tree or wall between you and your enemy). When enemies are attacked by ranging, they will attempt to run and attack you in hand-to-hand combat. If you decide to shoot at a monster from the other side of an obstacle, then the monster will not be able to retaliate, thus saving you from taking damage." In this case the rocks are not blocking the direct line of sight, thus should be classified as an 'obstacle' - as it was previously. yes? no? maybe? Kind of off-topic, but didn't want to write a thread on this single issue. -
Ice giants can't be safe spotted anymore?
Rollyboy replied to ice age mage's topic in General Discussion
Yeah you use to be able to shoot the icewarriors over the rocks, but not anymore. Was a really good spot in f2p if you didn't want to be disturbed. Gave average range/magic xp. -
I'll have to wait it out. Click on the globe near the mini-map and it opens the world map.

China would probably just steal the technology from America. They already have thousands of spies working in America right now - from non-professionals including students, scientist and researchers. I remember reading that China had enough manpower and know-how to beat America in a cyber war. This would greatly disadvantage a technologically advance nation such as the US if this were true. Every nation should know by now the disastrous outcomes if such a war would commence. But I'd have to agree with the stalemate outcome.

Dual weapons would be fun. Whip and Rune crossbow? Yes please. But it would need some tweaking. 1). They do not hit at the same time. E.g. Whip hits. Rune crossbow hits. Whip hits. Rune crossbow hits. And so on. 2). The special bar would be a single one. Hence People will not be able to 8 spec people, as they would be limited to a single spec bar. 3). Increase the requirments as most people suggest by 10. Such as Whip to 80 attack and rune cross bow to if they are used as a dual weapon. 4). Speed would be tweaked somehow. Somehow... 5). Not all weapons can act as a dual weapon. It would also give an incentive of 90% (based on my experience) of RuneScapers to train a different combat skill. But hey if it never gets implemented, people can always just stay with switching - seperates the lazy from those who actually take advantage of the combat triangle.

I've "hit the wall" too. All i ever do is merchant through the G.E now. Log on every fortnight or so; buy and sell what i need and log out. I'm just waiting until something exciting comes out. The graphics update seems great. But I will probably lose interests after that "Ooo" "wow" "Haha what the hell!" factors.

Only ran when I was in primary and high school. Now the only time I run is when Im late for something. Anyway if you get too conscious about running in public try jump roping non-stop for only 15 minutes a day ("only" - haha i make it sound easy but it's hard!). If you want to burn more; after the jump rope work out go on the stationary bike for another 15 minutes. The most quotable statement would be "Murscle burns fat". So add in some weight training 3 times a week. Drink water. Don't starve yourself. Don't expect results straight away. Think positive.

Ambos are horrid on weekends in Aus. At least you smashed him when he was drunk, you won't have to worry about him recognising you next time :lol:

I did read the whole thread. I just wanted people to know that there are other experts out there who have opposing research results (3 degrees) to that of Stephen Schwartz (1.1 degrees). Schwartz results maybe 1/3 of that predicted by others but still it spells out that global warming is real. I agree that there are uncertainties with science, especially in this instance where scientific tools for forecasting events that are too complex and chaotic to predict are limited. As someone in this thread has pointed out, no one knows for certain what will happen in the next 50 - 100 years. This is where the precautionary principle applies. The precautionary principle is basically 'foresight planning'. "It also absorbed the notion of risk prevention, cost effectiveness, ethical responsibilities towards maintaining the integrity of natural systems, and the fallibility of human understanding" (Tim O'Riordan et al, 2001, The Evolution of the Precautionary Principle, pp11). I would rather live in a world where the risk is fixed early (even if there is uncertainty), rather than waiting for the future and seeing what has to be done. Sustainability is the key word when it comes to environmental protection. Sustainability, in essence, is the merging of economic enterprise, social well-being and environmental integrity. 'Business as usual' negates both social well-being and environmental integrity. Oil 2.0 is just one small step for a larger problem.

People should not only focus on the issue of rising fuel prices. There are other major problems associated with it such as degradation of freshwater resources, decline in food production, increase in storm and flood disasters, increase in illegal migration and also threatens international stability and security. It is true that average surface temperatures have so far increased by 0.8 degrees relative to the pre-industrial value, but recent studies (on current trends) have indicated that the average temperature will rise by 2 - 3 degrees (one estimated 2 7 degrees and another stated a 50% chance of increasing by 5 degrees) by the end of this century (articles shown below). Less than 1 degree has already caused set backs to economic and social development in developing countries. The STERN review has indicated that a delay in reducing carbon emissions will be much more expensive in the future, as more would have to be done to fix the problem in such a short period of time. At higher temperatures the cost will continually rise and residual damages will remain large. It will additionally cost 15 150 billion dollars each year to make new infrastructure and buildings resilient to climate change. ARTICLES for 2 3 degrees; -Deep Cuts in Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Economic Social and Environmental Impacts for Australia, Executive summary and conclusions. Report by the Allen Consulting Group for the Business Roundtable on Climate Change, March 2006. -R. Schubert, H. J Schellnhuber, N. Buchmann et al (2007). Climate change and Security Risks, German Advisory Council on Global Change (WGBU), translated by A. Hay, Earthscan London UK and Sterling VA, USA, Summary for Policy Makers. -Stern, Nicholas (2006). Stern Review on the Economics of Climate change, Executive Summary, HM Treasury, United Kingdom, 30 October. It is generally perceived that the economy can only grow by exploiting the environment, while environmental protection will cause a decline in economic growth. But the concept of 'ecological modernisation' has been developed to basically combine both economic growth and environmental protection without negatively impacting the other. This is done by increasing the environmental efficiency of the economy in three ways. (1) Substituting materials with environmentally friendly materials. (2) Efficient use through waste minimisation or recycling. (3) Changing the output from material intensive products to those with lower environmental impact. This would involve changes at both the macro- and micro-economic level. Such changes are necessary as three scenarios indicate; business as usual continual rise in environmental problems. Implement policies (such as taxes) will cause environmental protection but will negatively impact on the economy. And Implementing environmental objectives into macro-economic and sectoral policies such initiatives will improve the environment while the economy will be slightly better than business as usual. Gouldson, A. & Murphy, J. (1997) Ecological Modernization Theory; restructuring industrial economies, in M.Jacobs (ed.), Greening the millennium? The New politics of the Environment, Oxford: Blackwell, pp. 74 86. Even though oil 2.0 emits less carbon there are still dangers. Certainly such advances in technology will play a major part in improving the environment. But as present circumstance has shown, gains in technological efficiency often encourage increased consumption and use. Also oil 2.0 seems to be an energy producers idea of unlimited energy resource. Cheap and unlimited energy does have problems. Unlimited and cheap energy could simply expand human activity and deplete other natural resources. Anyway it is not nature in danger, it is us.

I'm not saying riots are a joke, but you have to admit that their fun to watch - especially in the context of a game. Those pures are generally the 'quick' accounts or the ones with the ideal that having a 99 will own everyone. The majority of these '99's will own all' die out fast or either get defence. Skatedog111's comments are generally true. Pures are dieing out - hence only true pures are left. Real pures despise such arrogant, idiotic and immature pures - back in the wild they were hunted down. Also differentiating between builds of characters is quite useless. That 'pure' would have a main - a 'normal' character. It's not the build, it's the player.

Yes, i have read the news posts. Player-killing will never be the same. Oh yeah, im ignorant and selfish for having an opinion and disliking the updates. :roll:

Haha. Who knows...this could happen! haha LOL @ people who took it seriously

RuneScape got boring. I skilled to make money, so that i could pk and have fun. I hope summoning is good enough to bring back the fun. I doubt the 1 on 1 will be any good...probably be like BH, but 1 on 1.

~~~How will/has the 138 CB cap affect/ed the game?~~~ =~)
Rollyboy replied to n_odie's topic in General Discussion
If summoning is p2p only, the f2p side would not get affected. Level 138 = 99 attack, strength, defence, prayer and summoning Level 126 = 99 attack, strength, defence and prayer. If summoning can't be used in f2p; then if a level 138 were to vs a level 126 in f2p, both should be equal. Summoning just adds to the total combat level. Con: Say you were a Level 90 with summoning, but have a base level of a level 80 if you were 1 summoning. You vs a f2p around level 78 - 80. Then you get beaten. Shame. -
"you'd either catch and train up animals or call them out of the wild to aid you." I believe that you will be able to make money out of summoning. Maybe sell the captured and trained animal to someone else. Logically the higher leveled animal, the more expensive. But of course, there would be a level needed to use the animals. "would be to Hunter, what Smithing is to Mining" If Hunting = Mining and Summoning = Smithing, then the higher hunting you have, the better "materials" you can obtain to level faster. Given that you have the right Summoning level. Summoning, thus would need players to catch an animal and train it. After a certain level the player may not need to catch it, but just summon it at will (with life runes or whatever).
Why does everyone hate................pures and pc....?
Rollyboy replied to chi13's topic in General Discussion
PC is just an evolution of the game - use it if you want to. You would not flame someone for using new armour would you? The game will be continually changing, as most top level players have said; the methods in the past are now obsolete in the future. The wild is full of rude pkers - ranging from any built of character. The similarities and scope of attitudes are the same throughout. -
New Update - What some have failed to see
Rollyboy replied to Lucifier6's topic in General Discussion
People are saying that the new update gets rid of autoers and increases the money gained from skilling. Autoers will exist even if the game play changes. It is the demand that keeps autoers alive, not how the game works. Think about the ess change. The autoers moved on to other areas; increase in mining and woodcutting. As time went on more autoers moved into members; where they could pick flax, woodcut, fish and so on. If autoers cannot merchant materials from shops, they will just move on to other areas; fishing, woodcutting, flax picking or whatever. But wait....they are already in these areas. So what would they do? lets go back to the post-ess change idea, theyll increase these auto programs into other areas. With more bots being implemented into a skill, more materials will accumalate - hence materials will be greater then demand and prices may fall. But this idea could be wrong. Since shop prices have increased, people may increase skill prices so they can afford shop prices. Well thats an idea i wanted to put up. -
Why do people say it? Im guessing because their other peers say it. Classic example team member 1: Omg safer noob team member 2: yeah stop safing Then some random person watching this fight will say it later on to someone else. It is like a popular phrase at school. Once someone says it, it becomes contagious. I just do the mature thing and say nothing. And hope the example im setting is seen by another. Saying that, i do like a 'low-hp' fight. But im not bothered when someone eats.
