Don't think it will be a sailboat because that will only lead to more spam threads about Sailing on the RSOF. But a fake skill would be nice since it hasn't been done before.

I don't see what's wrong with this 26k trick. It's simply emergent gameplay for me. Just like Air/Nature/Law-rune running or assisting or Powermining or even Merchanting, they wrere not intended to be used like that but someone found out a way to use them for their advantage and everyone copied because it was more effecient/profitable. That explains what Emergent gameplay is and I think that the 26k trick is just that. I think we should stop thinking what Jagex thinks is bad is bad for us, this 26k trick doesn't hurt anyone and it's not unfair to anyone cause if we keep agreeing with all the wrong things Jagex finds about PvP Worlds then we will get another...Ditch! or as the article says: "Yet the hard work of creative gamers has been thrown away, giving way to the muddled, inexact, and utterly beginner-friendly RS2 Wilderness." Emergent gameplay is not cheating.

We have never been prevented to play more than one game. I think the people that already play RS will try Mechscape and Play it/Quit RS or Play it and play RS. Also since it's a different kind of game than RS it will obviously attract a new audience that will discover RS and the RS "population" might increase. In any case, I think the RS "population" will increase or there will be minimum changes.

Although I disagree entirely with your first statement, I believe you are on the right track with the rest. Rares were meant to be a fun item and even though they are worth millions now, that is no reason to remove an item from the game. "If person A got an item too easily, then persons B C and D should all get the same amount too or take away person A's!" No, If person A got an item (no matter how) then if person B, C and D don't get it, too bad for them. If they weren't around at the time the item was released then it's not person A's fault, neither is it person A's fault that they can't afford to buy the item.
