Using Virtus in Place of Torva and Pernix
Tbh, I'd rather have Virtus anyways lol.

01-Mar-2011 - Elemental Workshop IV
Consequtive too. Priceless. Imo, once I got the hang of the chaos puzzle, it was just a huge pain in the ass rotating the cubes to get the right instructions. Personally, I thought the puzzles were quite easy too. The Chaos puzzle took me a little time to figure out exactly what the hell I was trying to do. That made me lol. To be fair, the EW3 puzzle wasn't exactly hard, it just had a fail of control placement; if the switches had all been located on some kind of control board, similar to the Cosmic machine controls, it would have been a lot simpler. Putting the control levers around the periphery of the room is where the puzzle failed. That being said, I'm glad these machines were much easier to use. It took me a bit of experimenting and trial and error, but once I figured out the controls, it was a cinch. Like someone before said, the worst part was moving the Chaos belts around to get the right box in the CPU. btw, anyone else get the "CPU" and "RAM" jokes? Don't forget break the law and operate chaos.

Possibilty of RS voice chat?
Pretty sure you'd have to actually choose to enter the whole voice chat thing, kinda like a CC. Note: avoid populated voice-chat CCs. Or, you know, most voice-chat CCs in general or whatever they'd end up having. No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Few things: I don't want to hear random people. I really don't. I don't want to hear some person saying swear words for [cabbage]s and giggles. Or yelling/swearing at me. Or literally hear hundreds of people screaming on W2 or the GE. Or, for that matter, have random people hear ME having a voice conversation.

Elite Void vs Max Strength
That, and the fact that a full slayer helm actually gives the same, if not better bonuses then full void?

Possibilty of RS voice chat?
My firefox says it's a Reported Web Forgery. There's a huge troll behind this somewhere, I just know it...

Getting "Good Grades"
Yes, but if there was the case, and he was still the top of his class, the letter grade he gets should still be an A.

Behind the Scenes - March
You have an odd definition of low level update. . Please tell us Willbur, why we should get excited about making rune ceremonial cabbage slicers that are most likely to be untradeable, unusable in combat, and high alch for far less then the bars cost? Rune cannonballs would be a great smithing update. This cabbage, unlikely... vey unlikely... However, low levels and the f2p should love a little workshop in the corner of varrock to make worthless junk for a little more xp until they can superheat gold as they train mining over at living rock cavern. Please don't call me that, I don't appreciate your tone. If you really want to know, it's pretty likely that these decorative swords are valuable to the artisans, and that they can be sold, at a better xp/gp rate as opposed to the fairly significant losses associated with superheating gold at the caverns. For all we know, it might turn a profit. This is all speculation, but it's never constructive to just assume that it's going to be obsolete on release, so I have to assume that they worked out their numbers right. If we just went around saying that all of the content is already obsolete in BTS discussions, very little would ever get said. If it is obsolete content, then we'll deal with that when the time comes. Don't get me wrong, I think it'll be a great way to train smithing, but the long-awaited smithing update would be better off being something that makes smithing more useful.

01-Mar-2011 - Elemental Workshop IV
I haven't done the quest, but I'm hoping the next quest involves your character teaching the robot or whatever it is in there to do everything we've learned how to do so far. Or MAKE our own robot to do that. Or hire an NPC. I mean, hiring a demon to do your bidding costs 10k, so how much would it cost to hire like some alchemist apprentice or something to make stuff for us?

Are you afraid of being hacked?
Because people who get hacked tend to either download something dodgy or get hacked by people they know; either by picking an easy password for someone to guess or actually sharing the information. If you don't try downloading Dodgy RS stuff, have a hard to guess password (that preferably isn't a dictionary word, alpha-numeric ideally) and don't share it, the chances of you being hacked are extremely low.

Tasks worth using the RoW on
Well, I'm gonna jump the gun a little and make this topic. You know it was only a matter of time, although at the moment it's pure speculation. What tasks are good candidates for bring the ring of wealth to? Since we all know the Ring of Wealth is getting a good upgrade this month, what slayer tasks do you think it will be worth using on after the upgrade? First off - Kuradels dungeon. If your fighting any task there, you'd probably benefit more from the ferocious ring then the RoW. Abyssal Demons/Dark beasts are the only ones worth considering imo - rest of them have no great drops to speak of, except for the visage of the metal dragons which are too obscenely rare to try to get as a drop imo. Wyrms - seem like a great candidate. They all have a drop worth a decent amount, and there's no ferocious ring to consider. There IS the berserker ring however. I think these will be generally accepted as good to use the RoW on. Spiritual Mages - given the frequency of dragon boots, this will (I think) be the best use for it. I expect there to be a somewhat noticeable increase in the amount of boots one would get per task. Thoughts? I've seen more then one person put down the RoW on the basis that faster slayer exp > slayer drops. Lastly, what are good monsters to camp with the Ring of Wealth? Will it become the new standard bossing ring?

BXP Construction Plan
Oak larders are generally considered good exp. First things first though. GET a butler. A demon butler.

Slayer Setup
But you're keeping your Bandos chestplate, which has 4 less prayer and 4 less strength than a fury?herp. So sell both pieces? No, just sell your tassets and buy a fury, then sell your BCP when it would get you the money for 94 herblore. A fury is one of the most important items you can buy as a high-level player. EDIT@poster above: killing stuff faster increases drop rates, too. Most slayer drops are too cheap to sacrifice exp for. Future general discussion topic: what tasks are worth taking a RoW to?

I really, really want you to be right. I just don't see it. The problem is that those of us who weren't too lazy to train the old way in preparation for the smithing "revamp" now have a significant amount of Jagex's spit in our faces. Tell that to pures who got 99s before soul wars. And people with high rc before the abbys. And people with 99 ranged before chins. And people with 99 thieving before pyramid plunder. And people with 99 any_buyable before any_buyable-x ... Updates happen, now wipe that spit out of your face and live with it. Yeah, totally thought this. Training methods become easier over time. Says you. I think everything this month looks good except the smithing update. Yes. I do say that. Since when was having a personal opinion disallowed on these forums? These days, looking to have just one update that would interest me in a month, i'm left hanging, again. Happens about every other month. Fair enough, I guess. Nothing with a large, massive appeal like the wilde/free trade; would be different if the smithing update looked like anything other then easier, more interesting exp.... Something the game is largely lacking of, but we also need a reason to GET these levels in the first place. Now, if this was for say prayer or herblore, that would be... interesting, to say the least... Wonder what the DG tweaks will be. Hoping for things like - a toolbox spawn for every person at the start of a DG - guaranteed amount of ess/money to work with to make basic things (runes, fire staff) Seriously, I'd love to start every DG with say, 70-75 ess, a toolbox and enough money to make a fire staff. A DG bound item bank would be great, but presumably too much to hope for. Wouldn't qualify as a tiny gameplay tweak either. I get the feeling that Jagex is really unsure if they'll be able to have the DG update ready this month so they hardly said anything about it.

Massive decrease in world population since update..
I think it's just that people don't log right back in after updates. I could be wrong, but I think it's standard at updates for a lot of people to not log back in. Bots in particular, but I have difficulty imagining it's only the bots who don't log back on. And yeah, there's another thread about this.

Tip.It Times - 27th February 2011
Heh. This. Honestly, there's certain things people always complain about: youth being lazy gossipers, the good old days.... Frankly, it all comes down to a certain innate dislike humans have for change. It's a bit complicated; I mean, if things change in a way that benefits them, they obviously don't mind. It's also a function of age; the older people seem to be, the less they seem to like change. I think it has something to do with (a theory) on how fast people percieve time going... This isn't proven, but the basic idea is that how fast time seems to pass for you is relative to how old you are. So, as someone gets older, when changes come, they (relatively) change faster and faster. If that makes any sense.

Well maybe cosmic and chaos bars will make some decent body armors. *s[racist term]* Edit: Lmao at the censor. Tipit is too [racist term]rdly to pay for a good filter XD One thing that really worries me, like the above poster said, will Jagex make an easier, possibly automated way to make the armour? It's a paim to make it. Maybe a future quest could have the automaton make all the armour for you, once you show it how? EDIT: The censor triumps once again.

Behind the Scenes - March
Quests are always fun imo :) Might need to train smithing/theiving a little for the pirate one. RoW looks nice, could be a new standard for boss monsters. Doesn't look as worth it for slayer though... I'm really intested in the DG update. I can think of a lot of good ways to improve it, but they didn't mention a damn thing. Bind bank maybe? :D Smithing update looks like a complete fail. Ooo, faster, cheaper way to train it....NO. If your gonna give a faster, cheaper way to train something, give it to herblore or prayer. Because those are actually useful. (Not saying I actually apporve of really expensive and useful skills, just that expensive&useful > easy&useless.) Hmm, IF Jagex has another smithing update planned that makes smithing USEFUL, THEN this smithing update could prove useful. But seriously, Jagex has seriously trolled us if this is the smithing update. Jagex needs to make skills useful THEN add better exp rates. I'd much rather have herblore's/prayer's expensive usefulness then the cheap uselessness of a variety of other skills. WC, fishing, firemaking, smithing, cooking, fletching... Random though, one really good thing DG did to the game was make a lot of skills more useful, at least in DG itself. If an RS3 ever comes to being, Jagex should just start with DG and expand from there. One thing is really irratating me as I read this thread though. People skimmed the update, read that it wasn't useful, then started trashing it. I'd just like to point out that this smithing update will presumably go all the way up into the 90+ range of useless training activities. For some reson, some people think the ceremonial swords are level 40. They START at level 70, and most likely go up quite a bit higher from there. Sigh, i hate Ring of wealth. But now that you guys have corrected me, it deservs a update. But i still hate it for all discussion and thoughts i have put in trying to understand it. I appreciate the correction. RoW just went from something I NEVER used to something I will FREQUENTLY use. And you know that it'll be useful because...? I seriously doubt it'll still become more useful than a trusty berserker, or the kind. As for the other updates, what a way to let us down easy, ey? first they have an awesome month with free trade and wilderness(best update in years), and then they come up with all this ****. wow. Says you. I think everything this month looks good except the smithing update.

Nex
This is a good point- it's not really fair to compare rapier/cls to maul without including a defender. What about comparing it to void with deflector/barrow gloves or just having an elysian/divine?

Melee gear help wanted. Any input wanted :)
Fine. Typo. And yes, I was perfectly aware that my implicating you of being a moron also implicated me of being a moron. However, if that nullified my entire post, wouldn't it also nullify the part where I'm a moron? If that part of my post was nullified, I wouldn't be a moron, and therefore my post wouldn't be nullified. Ooo. Don't you just love paradoxes? Also, I didn't say a practical siutuation existed, but, say, when GW first came out (you know, before extremes and summon) I'm relatively sure it was more useful to have a GS there because you needed the accuracy for the boss. (Depending on the boss of course.) Especially if you were with a team of people, and you ONLY had 75 attack. Now it's impractical simply because the competition at GW pretty much pushes out anyone with that low attack, especially without extremes. Hmm, I think a Godsword could be practical for a low level at Tormented Demons. With only 75 attack, would a godsword beat a whip/D Def there? I personally have my doubts. Anyways, when I made the post pointing out that everyone on tipit or who plays RS, etc, is a moron, I was simply pointing out that having "fun" is, quite often, not the most "efficient" use of your time. Having fun often loses money or has discernible benefits whatsoever, except maybe via examining someone's brain for happiness or something. It's actually quite ironic how efficiency obsessed RS players can be. "I like hitting higher in the video game." "TOO BAD! IT'S A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!" Because, you know, video games aren't? Lol.

Melee gear help wanted. Any input wanted :)
As for something constructive....if you are bent on two handed weapons, a maul would be good if you DG enough. Furthermore, your last post indicates a severe lack of understanding of how slower and/or two handed weapons tend to work in RS. You imply that without max accuracy godsword loses more from a whip, which implies you think the Godsword is even worse at lower accuracy. In fact, that's not true because the Godsword actually has higher accuracy to begin with. With low enough accuracy, Godsword trumps whip because of hitting a lot more damage, due to the combination of higher strength and attack bonus trumping the whip's higher speed. However, this effect is relatively negligible in RS since the case where the higher accuracy/strength of the godsword trumps the whip's higher speed is very rare; this would mainly apply to bosses and very high defence monsters being fought at lower levels; bosses and very high defence monsters are very rarely fought by players with lower levels.

Melee gear help wanted. Any input wanted :)
You could always check out the saradomin sword, if you must use a 2h and train each stat individually. Also, if you REALLY wanna be different, I'd try to get a berserker necklace and some tzhaar weapon. To above poster: yes, whip is the best overall weapon short of chaotics, hence it being used so much, but....

Skeletal horror help
I killed them with slayer pies. Um, mage defence gear works well. Or you could try mage prayer, but they have a nasty, nasty tendency of turning that off on you.
-
Close please
That's one of the perks of having Karamja Gloves 4, the ones you get from the elite tasks. Happens once a day, I imagine it increases chances of success against Jad quite a bit. Gotta kill Jad for that to work. So it's not as great as you'd think. Personally, killing with deflects might become kinda common if it doesn't summon healers. I'd certainly have tried, because at one point I was quite good at getting Jad to healers then dying after.

Night Spiders
my team with all shadow silk hoods got a hood drop on a spider yesterday and this level 83 noob with a hood picks it up and alchs it instead of giving it to me its not like i was leeching :( bad fortune for me, the others woulda gave it Dude, I just posted in your rant topic about it! Sucks for people who don't find hoods. I got lucky with mine, all I can say. Honestly, Jagex should consider some 100% way for you to get them. Maybe hexes too....Providing you have the slayer level, of course.
