  1. What in the HELL are you talking about? I don't think neither this supposed frog fairy or blue crests exist. Also, the general guides section is where people post guides on how to do things, not to ask questions. You ask questions in the help and advice column. But seriously, your either a troll, thinking about an entirely different game, or a moron. After a quick google search, it seems your looking for a WoW item. In case you don't know, this is a runescape forum.
  2. Yes, you have to go inside the section of each faction to make them non-aggro. I think I wore nomads cape, veracs helm/skirt, d boots, barrow gloves, fury, arcane ss (same defensive stats as bss I think) and used a super def pot and nothing but the mages attacked me. That is, till the super def pot wears off enough.
  3. Yeah, um, how often do you die at slayer? Unless you lag/DC a lot, you shouldn't be dying there.
  4. Which changes the point, how? Jagex has a system in place to turn monsters non-aggressive based on the type of defensive bonus you have and not your combat level. Nit picking the details doesn't change the fact I answered your question with an in game example oh appologies, let me catch up on game called Runescape that for a few years seem to have things called non-combat skills, mini-games and quests that seem to give players benefits in combat without adding to their combat level. I was giving examples, just not in an exhaustive way as it has to be a short poll. However, even in this thread people note that Dng, Firemaking, Herblore and Slyr for example offer items inaccessible outside of the skills that do offer benefits in combat. Are the benefits enough to merit inclusion in a combat level formula or exclusion to PvP combat? Oh, I guess Jagex never radically redid large elements in the game before. We're still using 2d graphics with only program based graphics engines. By your example, the entire combat level system is unfair because a level 138 in immune to all attacks by a gang of level 87 pkers. Plus, he's immune to being attacked by multiple level 90's if he stays out of multicombat areas that make up half the wilderness. So apologies if you can't see these simple responses to your simple problems put forth. At least other posters brought up legitimate issues, but you're just grabbing at straws. However, to answer your poorly thought out example, the level 138 in Torval would not be immune to others if A) he goes higher in the wilderness increasing the number of lower levels able to fight him or B) another person risking similar boosting armor to raise combat levels to similar levels. Plus, if no one can attack him, he can't attack others. Kind of ruins the point of him trying to PK others. However, he just won't be bothered by cheap pkr's that don't want to risk anything expensive. If he didn't want to fight, he would stay out of the Wilderness after all. And that he can't be KO'd without a lot of effort is kind of the point of having heavy armor, lots of food, lots of prayer, etc however that's the combat system and not about combat levels. The triangle is represented well in Dungeoneering. The problem with RS proper is that there's far too many legacy items to bring about some balance. Jagex is attempting it with soakage and the high level equipment so that's cool. To be fair, I've stepped back from talking about the triangle and focused more on just combat levels. Even that, I've pulled more away from things like food, potions and tertiary skills/quests that offer minor boosts in some capacity. Instead, it seems easiest to point out how level 138's are being impacted with end game items wrt combat. Ok, um, lesse. A person in full torva and a divine won't be bothered by cheap pk'ers to begin with, unless they feel like dying. Agility, herblore, slayer, firemaking offer almost no combat bonus. Agility, I can run farther, yay. Herblore: at 85+ I actually get a bonus I can't buy, made up of potions that aren't even useable in dangerous PVP in the current system. Slayer offers what, full slayer helm? Firemaking, less of a chance of one item exploding. So, wait, what if a person hasn't done the handcannon quest? Personally, the few things that need to be adressed: maxed mage with 99 def, summ, hp, prayer is much, much lower then maxed att/str with 99 def summ hp prayer. The fact that in PVP, str counts for a lot more then def. To above poster: if anything, show total level somewhere then. Maybe in less dangerous areas.
  5. Frankly, as easily as I can understand people hating the filter, and being muted, there is a reason for it. Spam does exist, if someone spends 5 minutes at the ge going @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ or even BUYING REDBERRY PIE @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ (people REALLY need to learn to make those themselves. offtopic though.) or going around saying "[bleep] you [bleep] suck my [rooster]".... I mean, I LIKE that stuff being censored >_> But on the other hand, I've had more then one conversation be messed up cos of the censor. Or my irl knickname, Willy. Is censored. I once got mutedd because of a completely out of context report where I said I was a mod, by someone who I wasn't even aware of existing until the report. Some guy said his man is Zezima, so I said mine was a J Mod. Some douch that had nothing to do with the conversation apparently responded to 5 minutes worth of it and reported me. You know, I'd really like to see proof of this. Not that I don't believe you, but a part of me doesn't want to believe that something so absurd and stupid could happen. A very small part, most of me is smart enough to realize it does >.< Oh, and I agree with the tl;dr. I think I wrote a mini-rant about that once.... Gosh, this reply could easily turn into two off-topic rants of my own.
  6. Um, they degrade during combat. Or, um, high alching - non combat magic also uses the gloves charges. As for how it degrades, um, everyone I've heard says it's based on exp, but that exp is dependent on your level.
  7. Hate to gravedig...I'm jalyt-mej-Sir Squab now. User of mystic power =O
  8. Nice. Very nice. I'm actually a bit jealous of the champions scroll.
  9. Yeah. Honestly, even excluding crashers, I'd wouldn't break 5 kills at a GW boss. TD's are much faster to get to, don't require a KC, easier to solo...on the one hand they require more skill the GW bosses, but on the other hand they're a lot less dangerous, easier and weaker to kill if you do it right.
  10. Pretty sure that's how it works. Only ones that would disappear, I think, are the ones that require the juju hunting potion to appear.
  11. Got the gloves withing 5 minutes of trying. That includes going to barb village and gettnig tele'd to relleka. Seriously, they should keep that teleporter dude >_> Although I have house portal tabs... Wish I could use on prayer lol. Got 99 mage, so not sure what to use the gloves on. Maybe ranged.... And lol @ "Omg, can't hit wolf and get gloves" Also, surprised there was only one comment on the skull necklaces. According to the patch notes posted here, F2P'ers can't use them anymore. Which is sad, as members don't need to bury bones for prayer points - we have PRAYER potions. KB still says the two lower tiered ones are F2P. Because, of course, the KB is always 100% correct. 110% correct when it comes to DG and it's rewards....
  12. I agree to a certain extent...but look at barrows. Their armour isn't included in their combat level. Really, other then defense, I don't think anything should be added, although I see where your coming from. But, tertiary skills, agility, slayer, really? Herblore I understand, at higher levels it makes a difference, but that's pretty much PVM and a bit of safe PVP anyhow. I don't think all that could realistically be included in combat. Too many factors. I mean, would someones combat level lower if they eat change? Change if they tribrid and switch gear or armour? That would honestly be too confusing. If anything, as the first replier said, other then the defense/strength disparity, it should be left alone. But even then, it's a PVP vs PVM thing - higher def is more useful for PVM for either bosses or lasting longer at monsters.
  13. I think I was in veracs skirt, guthans body, veracs helm the other day, with d boots, fury, barrow gloves, arcane spirit shield (same def as BSS though) soul wars cape and I wasn't attacked by anything but the mages. When using super def - when my super def ran out, the rangers attacked me. Although I'm not 100% sure that's what I was using, could have been karils top instead. Pretty sure I had like 120 mage def somehow o_O
  14. My record is 21. But seriously, how did people get like 50+ a run before juju pots >.< Incidentally, 21 is my record for a single patch, but a few patches died so I actually did under average. I'd have to agree with the whole 45 snaps ish record. Best was avantoes as 63 I think. And I am now pretty damned sure your farming level increases herb yield lol. I have a friend with 99 farming who says she gets about 50 toadflax a run. Oh and I'm pretty sure I got 3 seeds back from a patch once too lol.
  15. If I recall, Obama used the Gulf as a photo op... you know, swimming with his daughter... And the seafood, they're just changing what Cajun means. Instead of spices, its flavored with oil and natural sea-salt. It also sounds like Dr. Soto is making a ridiculous profit from all this. Evil Dr. Soto for taking advantage of the poor sick people of the gulf. rofl I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not o.O
  16. No. It isn't even confusing. Do all the floors you can 'till they are check marked. AKA done. Reset. Oh, and this: *slap*
  17. THREE! And what the deuce is in the OP's sig o.O
  18. That's for people who can, you know, flip. >.< And are able to keep their cash pile high. If I had 43m, I'd blow it on herblore or prayer or 80 con and house upgrades.
  19. Ha. Ha. Ha. Your funny. You realize have those things have no reason to happen, and half of them won't happen due to the GE? Tell me. Did you ever craft 1k laws to sell? On W2? No. You didn't. If you did, you'd know the price of 1k laws on W2 was...wait for it... about the same price as laws now. Really, laws were 1kea when someone wanted 1 law for a quick tele. Why will free trade suddenly cause items to skyrocket? I love this bit. A lot. Because there's absolutely no logical reason for it. "Well, players can sell items for more w/o trade restrictions, therefore they will." How about, "people will pay less for items, therefore they will?" You do realize, that free trade will have at best virtually no effect on stable items that are regularly traded on the GE? If this is done right, all free trade will be will do to the GE is maybe stop manipulation clans, and change certain items from "I can't get this on the GE because the GE price doesn't accurately reflect it's price" due to it being a Phat, new item, or item has gained/lost value due to some update. Really, what you fail to realize is that Bringing Back Free Trade != Time Machine. Bringing Back Free Trade != No More GE. Thus, we will not revert back to times where it was easier to be self sufficient and you had to barter for everything. As for the wilderness and the current content in it, I don't think it's fair for anyone to say how it will be ruined. We just simply don't know yet how Jagex will deal with that content. Oh and to IIlllIllllIl, I somehow doubt the carnage will begin "soon enough." Just because Jagex will officially decide to bring back the wilde doesn't mean it's returning anytime soon. Unless Jagex started preparing to bring back the wilde/free trade months ago, on the assumption that the poll would result in a "Yes" vote, Jagex will have several months of work to do to bring back the wilde. Free Trade is easier, frankly I'd toss a coin on it. But, again, unless Jagex started working months ago on this assuming people would vote "yes" in this poll (which, to be fair, is a possibility) we won't be seeing the wilde back 'till the fall.
  20. Tbh, you should always start with Dharok and use pro melee on him. You can try tanking the other ones, but getting k0ed by dharok isn't fun. Or are you using prayer on everyone?
  21. How do people take money out irl? Melt pennies to make copper? I can't think of another way... Lrn2economics You've got a bright future ahead living paycheck to paycheck. So never learn to save. NEVER. Saving money in a bank does not remove it from the economy. When you deposit money, that specific bank has more money to potentially lone out which the borrower will spend on an emu farm or something and stimulate the economy. Burrying works(at least temporarily), though. EDIT: Also, I don't have time to spend AT LEAST 40 seconds teleporting to my house and repairing crap between tasks if the only bonus is increasing my defense. That ranger armor is a bit more interesting though...and I have a feeling that that will end up as the most expensive set. The ranger armour? Really? From what I've seen, that was the least desirable out of them all o.O I want the mage armour because... I like mage >.< How do people take money out irl? Melt pennies to make copper? I can't think of another way... Lrn2economics Just in case you did not know: United States' pennies haven't been made from copper for about thirty years. The outer layer is a copper coating but about 98% of the coin is zinc. As for degradation of items, I do not like them based on the fact that if I earn it, then I have it. I should not have to constantly maintain a digital item. Understandably a car needs maintenance, but not my armour in Runescape. Although I do not like them, I do use such armours as barrows and others that do degrade for the reason that benefits outweigh costs. runescape is ment to be somewhat real, yea i know we blast huge monsters with magic etc, but point is, sometimes a bit of real-ness leaks in, and haveing to ripair armour is just one of thouse things. besdies, even if you "earn" the item, you can think of the degradeing as continueing to earn it. Except that only the strongest armour needs repair. Weaker armour lasts forever. How does that work? Frankly, the only degrading armour that makes sense is the crystal bow. Use it for so many shots, and as it degrades it gets weaker. Oh, except for the fact that the crystal bow is made by singing. Please, please, don't try to relate RS gameplay to reality and physics. Please don't. Can't deny that. But that's just you, isn't it? I'm sure there are others who aren't bothered, but at the same time, I'm sure there are others who are. Remember we are talking about possible reasons that some people, as a general statement, might want to melee partly because of the ammo issue. That is a potential issue... I'd say the real problem is magers/rangers either can't hit high enough with cheap ammo, or find the high hitting ammo too expensive to use. But that's beside the point...
  22. Probably not worth the time usually, but I've been using them while trying to catch god jadinkos. I did that when I caught god jadinkos as well. I don't think most people use bait in any sort of hunting.
  23. Is it true her blood spells are more powerful five days out of the month? Rofl.
  24. Frankly, I'm using up my greens/golds for 92 summon because I'm too lazy to get more charms >.< I wouldn't mind seeing an answer to this either, but I'm thinking Swamps might be better because you can make them twice as fast. Then again, we can make pouches pretty damn fast to begin with...
