  1. I thought he was trying to be witty, trailure, like failure, sounds identical to trailer, used because the video pretty much completely fails at accurately representing RuneScape. It's more epic then the last trailer, but that one actually represented the game. But nope, just spelling fail I guess. I'll let you get away with that because it's january, so that could technically be considered correct if the trailer came out in december. Old news, but not *that* old.
  2. Ummmmmmm.....farm herbs. Lots. Every hour or two if you can get on lol. Get a scroll of life for that if you can. Snaps or avantoes, snaps average more money though. Also, I still see no particular reason NOT to do kingdom, unless your like, completely broke atm. Sure you need to invest in kingdom, but you can just withdraw from kingdom the next day to get your loot. It only takes your money away when it's turning into loot. You could, you know, put money in it, withdraw all the money after a week, and be ahead of the deal once you sell your stuff... (Assuming you put it on the right stuff. Herbs/maples are usually considered the best for money there.)
  3. I think we need both ideas; also, there'd be some flexibility with the bind count; SSH does not count as two lol. Personally, I think it should still more or less allow the same bound item set (weapon at 1-49, weapon + hood/plate at 50-99, etc) We can dream...
  4. Five kids, two jobs, three houses, four cars, two mortgages and another husband? o.O lol But seriously, your response wins. And honestly, most of the time when someone gets insulted for being a "no life" with high levels, the person is just jealous and insecure about the higher level player, so the person makes up some derogatory thing about the high level players life to make themselves feel better. Honestly though, it seems to me that most high level players DO have quite the life as well. (Could be completely off about that though.) I bet you couldn't do a Dionysius Draynor bank job irl, noob... I know. Sadly, I lack magic powers irl :( Working on it though...
  5. Only monsters. And apparently the cave crawlers in the Polinveach well, which are like level 150 (something high anyways) are the best monster to kill for them. There's a guide somewhere here for it, damned if I know where it is lol.

    Wow.

Oh, wait, that never happened. Could we please stop discussing it? I can understand where the OP is coming from. Loses all the things in game he considers valuable. Happened to an IRL friend of mine, he lost a bunch of stuff due to a DC at dags, quit for a while, is back now. He also said at the time that it was good in a way, because it helped him quit. Keep in mind, if someone quits 'cos of a bad death, chances are there's more to it then just a death.

    Lol @ kids

That is quite epic. I'd totally troll them afterwards. "Hey, you remind me of some mods I saw a week or two ago. I think they were asking me for something. Can't remember what it is... Could you maybe help me think of stuff that might job my memory?" Better yet, if they DID say "asking for your pw" well, depending on how you said it, you could report them again. Trolololol.
  8. Heh. A long with the clue stuff, I'll take like 5 monks, black hides, dds, venge runes. You attack me, I can venge you, come up close and I dds spec you. Sure, I'll die, and can be farcasted; the real question is, am I worth killing? lol But yeah, the old wilde was dangerous, but it wasn't as packed. I think one of the reason people are scared of it is they see PVP worlds on every world; fairly damned crowded with dangerous PK'ers. But when you get multiple worlds, it stops being like that.
  9. You know, you've said very little about people who like to mage in DG. If I get a chance, I like to make empowered fire staffs to mage with. That being said, I don't DG that often, and when I do I solo because I'd rather NOT deal with 117....
  10. For healers, I'd say no, they spawn on every side of jad. As for 360/90, I usually pray mage and just kill the 90 as quickly as I can. Consider throwing on eagle eye and stoneskin till the 90 is dead. Although it is possible to somehow lure one.... I think the trick is, if they're both trapped behind the same obstacle, you run up to get them unstuck, then run back, getting the one in behind stuck. It's possible, somehow, but I'm far from an expert on it.
  11. In business, companies don't care why you can't pay, just that you aren't paying (insurance/banks notwithstanding). Whenever this discussion is brought up, I attack the fact that the person does not/can not pay for membership, without regard as to why they don't/can't. At the end of the day, you are using a service, and "I can't pay/don't want to pay" is not a valid excuse for why a company should release something for free, ever. Compared to Western MMOs, Jagex is very giving. Find most MMOs that are freemium and none of them offer the same experience Runescape does, without the big stick beating you about the face to subscribe. I mentioned Asian free to play MMOs in an earlier post, and I want to expand upon that. When my MMO website was still in its infancy, I managed to get a talk in with a few Asian MMO publishers (many of these are republished in the West by companies like Frogster and Hanbitsoft). One of them told me that the longer an account is active without buying in-game tokens, the more likely they are to be banned for minor infractions. Why? Because after two years of playing without paying for service, the company decides you are no longer a prospective buyer, and therefore a liability rather than a potential customer. One of them, when I asked if they were worried the player would quit rather than start a new account, said that a good percentage of players (mainly ones with guilds) would set up a new account, and would actually start buying cash shop items (generally double exp and gear) to catch up to their old toons. As for the ones that quit entirely? "[bleep] 'em" is the response. You'll notice I keep away from using certain catchphrases that a lot of members use. Giving free players green dragonhide isn't going to dilute the value of membership, nor is anyone going to say "hey, green dragonhide is free. Guess I don't need this membership *cancel*," because the update is too small to have that any kind of overall effect on the game other than "hey, there's some better armor for rangers/mages/melee hybrids." What I am concerned with is how badly maintained the green dragons are already, with enough bots on members worlds camping them as it is, without a hundred more worlds filled with botters bringing down green dragonhide prices. I suggest you take a look at my website, because despite what you may take from this thread, I've always been a major supporter of subscription games going freemium ala Runescape (in fact, it's something of a highlight), and have a growing database with the purpose of helping people pay as little as possible for their games. I imagine even harder to believe is I have an initiative starting in February called "How Free Can You Be?" where I will be looking at various triple-a MMOs, as well as putting up interviews, with the sole purpose of finding MMOs with the best content for absolutely free. So perhaps this is just me spending far too much of my time in a business frame of mind, but I do have issues with how this would imbalance the green dragonhide market. not going to bother reading that but im guessing ur just argument is u want us to pay.. which i completely understand.. just remember this is a "rant" forum so expect some pretty wild and far fetched arguments and topics being posted and discussed.. i honestly feel as though this topic is completely reasonable.. I was too lazy to read your original post, so I'll just assume your some stupid whiny F2P'er who's too cheap for membership but wants everything members offers anyways. L2PAY OR GTFO! Note: if I had actually read your first post, I might've tried to post a less obnoxious and more intelligent remark, but I'm too lazy to read. Honestly, how much I like this idea is directly proportional to how much dragon bones go down if it happens. Conversely, how much I dislike this update is directly proportional to how much dragon bones go up if it happens.
  12. How well merch clan will work is a big question. They didn't exist pre-GE, when trading was done exclusively between players. So, it's questionable if they'll even work if free-trade is re-enabled. Which isn't to they WON'T work... I wouldn't worry about the GE. Yes, ok, the market always fluctuates for items with the GE, but really, pre-GE items didn't usually have a set price either. Afterall, "flippers" as I will call them, existed pre-GE. I will define a flipper as a person who buys an item at a lower price, then later, but in a short amount of time, sells it for a higher price. This applies to people who "flip" items now, and can easily be applied to pre-GE flippers who made money buying and selling items for profit, often in W2. You just need to give the "short amount of time" clause some flexibility. I am curious to see the effect on merch clans.
  13. I guess. I dunno, when I said that I imagined a person looking PURELY at exp/hour, without even trying the task out, and choosing what tasks to block and not block purely based on exp figures. (Well, I guess other things like charms, effigies but you get the point.) Tbh, I'd do that except wait for the task. Not like you can block something before you get the task anyways. Which is why I kinda sorta think threads like this aren't ideal. As for Tzhaar tasks, you DO have the option of NOT killing Jad and doing regular tzhaar, you know this? Personally, I'd say you might as well try all the jad tasks you get, you'll want a fire cape eventually probably (if nothing else, for ice strykewyrms.)
  14. Um, dungeon? In the kalphite lair there's a lil tunnel cave thingy to where you fight the boss, but last I checked there aren't kalphites there. The room is also kinda small; good enough for the boss fight, but you could fit maybe 4 workers in there....? And the dungeon doesn't lead TO the KQs lair, the entrance to the dungeon is IN her lair.
  15. Well, someone who looks purely at numbers at decides to block the 5 slowest tasks in terms of exp per hour.... I dunno, that somehow screams elitist to me. It's hard to explain, it depends on, I guess, how "much" the person blocks based on exp per hour. Like I said, if there's someone who looks PURELY at exp per hour to decide what to block.... Elitists, to me, are people who seem choose their playing style based purely on exp/hour and gp/hour, without considering much else, if anything else at all. I dunno, it's hard to put my finger on tbh.
  16. Blocking is highly subjective, tasks should be blocked on the basis of "gah, I can't stand this task, can't wait 'till it's over" rather then "I'm not sure what to block so I'd like other opinions." Because, unless their personal opinions agree with yours, the opinions are worthless (at least on a matter like this where it's pretty much based purely on personal preference to begin with.) Unless your one of the elitists who seeks to maximize exp per hour and wants to block the slower exp tasks. However, being slighyl inconsistent here, wyverns are on most people's block list. You'll probably want to block those. Don't "try" to block tasks though. Do the task, if you find out you can't stand it, THEN block. At max quest points, (or, well, 250) you get 5 blocks, should be more then enough.
  17. Yes, except for some people those healers HURT, and not everyone can kill them faster then they heal jad, even if they're in attack/heal mode. So depending on your stats, armour, etc, you may want to kill them.
  18. Um, abyss would be quicker then fairy rings. Keep in mind, with the old wilde coming back... and if you MUST insist on making graahs yourself, um, don't do it. Buy them or don't graahk imo.
  19. Your set up is pretty good. Most people would reccomend swapping torags body/legs for veracs body/legs, or maybe torso. Beat smoking kills, do tasks for slayer points (this will make more sense after the the quest) and get a slayer helm. This consists of a black mask, facemask, spiked helmet, earmuffs and any other slayer headgear you can think of. You can throw in two more items whose name I can't think of off-hand to make it a full slayer helm for mage/range slaying, but if you just want to do melee don't worry about the for now. Also, work on your summoning, get 67 if you can. Think that's the level for a bunyip, which is great for slayer.
  20. Personally, I agree with Jagex's reasoning. You can't tell if they have them or not. Chaotics, armour, etc, you can see. Specific combat levels you can't see, but you can see the overall combat level and can probably tell by their gear if they're pures or not.
  21. Personally, I'd say once you have full rune, done all quests and the diary. That's just me.
  22. SSH, Prom Spear, Surebox. Spear might not be the best weapon, but I LIKE training controlled >_> Plus, the moment I find a corpsethorn, I get an empowered fire staff and start maging.
  23. Honestly, if have a portal to canifis in your house and access to the bridge/boat to barrows, via whatever quest allows you to use those, you can get to barrows pretty damned quick. The only time you MIGHT not be able to get back to an angel of death (so long as you don't DC and lose time on the grave) is MAYBE if your in the tunnels, especially at the chest. Even then, I'm relatively sure I could make it. Rather not find out though... Seriously, it's just a matter of unlocking (and using!) existing transportation methods.
  24. Even with deaths? Something I've been meaning to ask for a while, a few deaths there could really hurt...
  25. At one point, I'd have said yes to RS friends, but...nope. Wouldn't do it. Here's an interesting question that's pointless to answer: if you WOULD betray your best friend for a p hat, would you admit it here? Although, if I didn't know someone on RS very well, chances are I'd backstab that person for a p hat.
