6 months cultivation.
Sir_Squab replied to aerendil's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Nice! I disagree with Golvellius, once people see whatever the absorption updates does to these shields, your window of opportunity to get it at min (or at all) is pretty much over. -
Get those last 2 dg levesl for frost dragons? Those are supposed to be quite good money.

What is this outfit? I know some of the pieces; I am mostly wondering about his chest/body/boots/gloves. Also, TD question. This is my current setup... Basically I want to know if Diamond (E) or broad bolts would be better with that setup. You could also provide suggestions to improve my setup. However, I'm fairly happy with my setup, and the only ways I can think to improve it involve items I don't have. I'm mainly wondering about the bolts though.

That made me lol. Actually. Also, I like the links in your siggy o.O But, er, on topic, just have fun :) Don't worry about far off high level goals. That makes pretty much everyone who isn't maxed total depressed.

The effect of a Balanced combat triangle.
Sir_Squab replied to Kata_Phfract__the_slayer's topic in General Discussion
Make my barraging cheaper....? I think.... it'd be nice to have bloody variety in the game. In a truly balanced triangle, I think we'd see an equal amount of people ranging/maging/melee'ing tasks, unless a particular style gave an advantage, such as strykewyrms. How often do you see people ranging/maging most tasks? Not very often, and it's usually limited to a few select tasks. -
Uhm. Please actually read my post. :/ The in-game manual does not say to do so in the ranging guild, which is why I did it in the seers bank. And although I appreciate you pointing out the requirements to the range guild that I quite clearly can accesses, it really had nothing to do with what I was asking. >_> To show you what I'm talking about... I'm asking post-task update has this task changed? Has anyone done this since then, and which area works? In-game manual no, knowledge base, yes. It's always BEEN the ranging guild. It's just a bug with the new task system, that's all. And I pointed out the 40 ranged requirement as further proof that you need to do it in the ranging guild, because clearly making an extreme ranged potion in seers has nothing to do with 40 ranged. Jagex didn't make a point of changing current tasks for the task system...

http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/seers_village_achievement <-- scroll down to extreme range. The description in the RS manual says the ranging guild as well. It's the ranging guild. You shouldn't of done it in Seers bank =/ Also, the in-game description says you need 40 ranged, when you look at the requirements; this is a requirement for the guild and NOT for the extreme range in any way.

Smoking Kills requires 85 combat and 35 slayer. OP has 97 combat and 36 slayer. Yea no reason not to do smoking kills at this point. Ok. Got me there; however, seeing as he still uses Turael.....eh... That seems like a more reasonable complaint imo.

how would the noob version of yourself react to the you of today?
Sir_Squab replied to Lokiz's topic in Questionnaires
wat. This post is seriously one of the weirdest things I've read in a while. Yeah, I second that. Just what. wat I'm also one of the people going wtf about that. -
I agree, I think the Void armour was a nice touch - it reflects your choice in the quest, but you can change it if you want. RS has so far never been a game where you had to choose one item over another (at least, permanently...*glares at crystal chime which I can't have with crystal saw for some pointless arbitrary reason*.....) Anyhoo, yeah, one thing I like about RS is you don't have to pick one item over another or get one reward over another permanently. Sure, we choose the crystal weapon we get, *mumbles about crystal tools angrily* we have to choose one of 3 gauntlets from the Family Crest quest, the void quest... but we can change all these things. I like it this way. Frankly, I don't think having to choose between two awesome items is TOO bad, as long as we can switch it up; although I'd still like both lol. Fictional is good; however, I didn't like the part where the seer gives them all a drink and they cough/splutter/etc. The Fremnik are supposed to be heavy drinkers and it seems very un-Fremminik like to not be able to handle it. Still, good articles over all. I have to agree with Kimberly, if Necro has lots of experience of both WoW and RS, it'd be nice to hear about it :)

Faster points. Guys, you really think this guy has done smoking kills? Pretty sure you need more then 35 slayer for it, for one thing. Also, Turael gives NO points. Frankly, I can understand why you might be worried about a hard task; but seriously, Demons and Dragons aren't that hard. I mean, again, your almost at the level to use Duradel. Now for some of my last post.... Vannaka's tasks shouldn't be that hard to begin with; and you STILL have the option of going to Turael if the task is TRULY troubling. Plus, slayer would be a lot more fun if you WEREN'T killing Goblins, crawling hands and cave slimes. I agree that there's some unnecessary dialogue in RS, but at this point you SHOULD be using someone better then Turael.
-
Fixed that a bit lol. Frankly, I'd say most of RS you don't need the higher defenses a DFS offers, making it not worth it. That's just me.

Wellfaring K'ril Tsutsaroth and Zilyana
Sir_Squab replied to Unknown_Warrior's topic in Help and Advice
I've always found Neitz to be a cheap substitute for Veracs - less def, but you still get some prayer. However, according to Bladewing the helm should be one of the items you protect (as it's worth over 400k) so only swap that out if you have a different item you want to protect. Just make sure you take some God protection - perhaps a book and/or arrow to be thrown away before the fight... (I find it beneficial to have protection from Zamorak for Sara GW killcount, because of all the Zamorak creatures attacking them. You can also mooch off their kills.) -
Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you could use a higher level slayer master. I mean really, level 97 using Turael? Lowest level master... Honestly, you SHOULD try out Vannaka. At least use the guy in canifis please. And honestly, if I had to train slayer through goblins and crawling hands, I'd find it tedious and boring too. I mean, demons and dragons aren't that hard anyways, at least the ones Vannaka would give. You ARE level 97. For crying out loud, your 3 levels away from being allowed to use Duradel. Vannaka really shouldn't be that hard for you. And, here's another thing, if Vannaka REALLY gives you a task you don't want to do, you COULD always go to Turael for a new task anyways.

Errm, it's worthless to bring such instances into an example. I, for example, made around 300m camping for whips when cash was worth loads more(blue hat was 30m), but it's useless for giving example of a good moneymaker as the time only moves in one direction. If bringing examples, it's worthless to talk about anything but averages. Slayer isn't a good moneymaker on the basis that camping one particular monster is always better. Fair enough. But applying an avg. to something that is based on luck is impossible. You know it yourself. Some people will avg. 1 whip per task, other will avg. 1.4 per task and then there are those who will avg. 0.7 per task. Maybe it's a bit harder to make 700m now than it was a year ago (due to everything dropping a bit), but i did not say "i made 700m and so will you". I just used it as an example to show that Slayer IS actually a good money maker. Er, no. Luck is based off probabilities, so over time it will/should average out to the same number. The key is simply taking a large enough sample size.

RS Wiki reckons at higher thieving levels you can get around 300k xp/hr, though it's still early days so that figure might change a bit. Doing a bit of math, yes, you can now top 300kxp/hr. Blackjacking Menaphite Thugs caps at about 280k xp/hr. These new monkeys are about 8% faster. 280x1.08= a little over 300. Making it something like 25% faster than PP as well, I believe. EDIT: Oh, and I don't think you could get randoms on Ape Atoll. I might be wrong, but I don't recall ever getting one and I've never seen monkeys in places like ScapeRune Jail or Maze. Anyway, that's another plus, if it's true. I tried it and with 99 thieving it seems you never fail to knock out the monkeys. So the only way to get stunned is to misclick "pickpocket" instead of "punch". Lobsters are common loot from them, so even at lower levels you probably wouldn't have to bring any food. I'm level 73 theiving, never got a lobster from them during the quest and they hit me a lot -.- I wouldn't consider 73 a particularly low level either. It sounds great for say.....80/85+ because I'm guessing you wouldn't get smacked too much at those levels. I didn't keep track of how many times they hit me, but I had to go fetch and eat bananas to get all of the knives. They had to of done a minimum of 1300LP on me when I was getting the knives. Maybe I'm just unlucky...

Nah that's not needed. We talked about this in the crashing thread. Nobody has an inherent ownership or right to the spot just because they got there first; it's the responsibility of both parties to choose whether to compete or not. If someone else comes along and wants to fight, you either accept the challenge and try to fight, or you hop. If you go to a world and someone's there already, you either hop or you challenge them. Sure, you can ask nicely for them to hop, but politeness-wise it's not really different from asking them nicely to give you a free 10k (or if you're the one hopping to be nice, from offering to give them a free 10k). There's no obligation, and there's no breach of etiquette if you decline. Eh, it's still the polite thing to do; if your doing something where hopping can easily find you an empty world, that's the polite thing to do. Depends on what your doing.... rune rocks, Bandos GW.... definitely crash. Vs doing some skilling where you can easily hop to find an empty world.... Can't think of any examples though. Some mining definitely.... I mean, not saying you HAVE to be polite, plus (say it's something mining related) you have 10 mining levels on the guy and a dragon pickaxe vs his rune one.... Maybe you crash him because you can.

Punctuation and capital letters is your friend. Makes it easier for people to understand... New version: When you do the Sketches on the Papyrus during the south one, you get attacked by Vanstrom. (Not some random one that you seemed to think attacked you in my previous post.) The tipit guide says while he is attacking you that you should continue to make your sketch. After he stops attacking you, speak with the servant girl; you then need a forth peace of papyrus to make the the sketch, because you lost a sketch during the battle with Vanstorm. Well, if you in fact don't make the last sketch during the battle with Vanstorm, you lose nothing so you only need the three pieces given to you by the quest; you don't need fourth piece that your quest guide says you need. The tipit quest guide is making people get things that aren't needed.

I never ran out of energy while doing it. Don't need the pool with high enough agility and the right path. Also, I used Polinveach tabs and Etrana. Although, once nice thing about crafting guild is you can use water staffs... To above: Nope, no randoms on ape atoll. That'd get too messy with running around as a monkey.
-
Honestly, no offense, but with how competitive bandos is, you don't stand much of a chance without chaotics and overloads and turmoil =/ Good luck though.... I'd go for 95 prayer first.

DERP HERP Y U CUT WILLOW *or any log thats not ivy* WHEN UR 99 HERPPP
Sir_Squab replied to FirenLazah's topic in Rants
I don't necessarily disagree with you. That's just how things are, which is why the internet is not for children. It's a lesson that OP needs to learn. That and public chat off. Mmm, there is such thing as cyber-bullying. Don't be so quick to dismiss internet insults... But then again, asking why someone is WC'ing willows is hardly an insult and you do still have chat filters >_> -

Dungeoneering, overloads, curses.....um, there's a hell of a lot.
