The Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide - UPDATED
You're not on the highscores? Rsn is I (as in eye) 7ure now. :s Why don't you make a guide then? Seriously. Back when I went to FoG a lot, I noticed the best players were like 70 combat rangers. Part of that must be persistence, but still. Always baffled me that a tiny amount of moderately leveled rangers actually made/make up (or seem to) most of the high level FoG-ers.

100M Guarenteed Money?
Frosts/farm run are the best guaranteed money I can think of. Maybe DKS if you have a yack or the elite fremnik diary done, as it allows you to easily collect the bones, which are guaranteed. TDs have been good to me, but a lot of that is luck. I'd love to have frost dragons and a pack yack, because then I could go kill some and KNOW that I'm going to make money from it.

Are you ready for new high level Slayer content?
This is simply caused by not enough boss monsters in the game. There are very few cost-effective bosses to fight, and Bandos is one of the top ones, so he's packed. Nex was a good step, we need more stuff like that to keep 138s with divines occupied so no monster ends up stupidly overcamped. Well then Jagex needs to create bosses to scale whenever they give us better combat ability. You have a good point. Godwars came out pre-curses, extremes (untradeable potions) summoning, dungeoneering. To be honest, I guess.... If the boss needs a 138 with overloads and chaotics to fight effectively because the boss is that hard, then it isn't too bad. If other skills gave combat bonuses, and you needed them all (or a lot of them anyways) to fight a boss because that was how hard it is, fine. I just really don't want to see another Bandos GW where you need to be lvl 138 with chaotics and overloads to fight it just because that's how tough the competition is. I want the boss to be that hard. I mean really, a group of people with 80 melee stats, 70summ/prayer/mage should be able to go and take out Graar with some level of effectiveness. Level-wise, I'm pretty sure that would be more then enough. The problem, at least pre-Nex (I have no idea what it's like now) that group would always get crashed. Keep in mind, slayer is still much, much more useful then say firemaking, woodcutting, fishing, fletching, crafting...... I think it'd be great if all of those were useful; however, if Jagex gave combat abilities as a form of usefulness, we better see stronger and stronger bosses to keep up with it. Hmm, Jagex can update skills to make PVM easier, then when Nex drops get as common as Bandos, release a new boss.

how mean is the bird puzzle
EW3 is like 20x harder than MEP2 without a guide. I dunno, EW3 was a puzzle you could sit and stare at. You don't get an overview of the MEP2 lights, nor do you get to sit in peace with all those damned ghosts. Nor does EW3 have a damned stupid agility obstacle. Having done MEP2 with a guide, and EW3 without, I personally have worse memories of MEP2. Possibly because I messed up at one point and thought I had to redo 3/4 of the damn quest.

how mean is the bird puzzle
So then quit RS. Icthlarins Little Helper I take it by the name. I still don't remember any bird in there. And yes. I see your concern. There have been hundreds, nay, thousands of people who play RS, who were going to quit membership that month, but had so much trouble with that puzzle that they decided to pay for an extra month's membership to finish that puzzle. Yeahhhhhhh. Right. Don't remember it, but ok. Yes, RS has puzzles in quests, and yes, some of them are hard. They get worse. Try doing MEP2 without a guide.

No Jagex, I will not try another world.
Well, it doesn't need to be 2k. But there needs to be a maximum somewhere and 2k seems fine to me.

How many places can you move a rope to the LRC before you have players needing to spend 5 minutes looking for the bleeding entrance? How many ways can you chance the rope click thing itself? If that number is finite, eventually the bots will be advanced enough to deal with every scenario. And I can guarantee you there's a limited amount of tiny changes to the game that take 5 minutes to implement. Over time, the botters will adapt. Your saying that you get a J-Mod to implement changes in the game to stop bots. Fine. I'm saying botters can do the same thing to their damned bots. And as long as people have a motivation to bot, they will continue trying to bot. Btw, did you know I can and have paid for my membership with pre-paid credit cards and ultimate game cards? That I've seen RuneScape game cards being sold in a location close(ish) to my house? That I could probably change my IP with just a few hours of messing around with my computer and google? ....What was the 3rd thing that you'd ban botters with to stop them? Pretty sure there are 3, and IP bans as we know aren't terribly effective, and I've just proven that credit card bans don't stop them. Not to mention credit card fraud which was what got rid of the wilde and free trade in the first place, although you could make an argument that times have changed. Oh, and even if Jagex does temporarly get rid of most of the botters, except for the perserverent few who will change their IP, make new emails accounts for new accounts and change their IP as well as paying for membership with pre-paid cards, eventually botting will make a come-back because, well, parts of RS are a large grind-fest and people don't like grinding. And please don't propose to not accept pre-paid cards as a form of membership payment. Too much collateral damage with that imo. Lastly, I must ask how much programming experience you actually have. Because I doubt* you actually have knowledge of the king of programming that goes into MMOs. On the other hand, neither do I. *I'm not saying you don't. Please correct me in a nice manner if you do, and I will apologize for that assumption.

DevBlog 7th March - The Clan Camp
They don't give anything away except for the fact that there IS a new clan area, trees are getting an update, and details on how they can make tents and other buildings look better. The latter two having nothing to do with clans. Frankly, I think they should have made it a blog about the graphics of trees and tents and how they can make good buildings, with a casual mention of this big clan update. Because the only real information in there was about trees and tents anyways.

I don't want some random Indian who probably has a sparse understanding of English testing me for botting. And TS Stormrage: reason why removing cheaters from the game onto a private server won't work is because the motivation to bot on normal servers is to get ahead of people on normal servers who don't bot, rather then have your bots competing. You lost all my respect for your post at that point. P.S.: We have name changing now. And a large enough community that shaming someone would actually encourage some people, and have some people not give a damn. Especially considering how many people always ask about what the new update is after it's posted on the freaking main page. And, if we're looking at a several thousand, or even hundred name list of people banned, no one will read anything beyond like 10 names. I still think that constantly changing the game to fight bots won't work, but at this point I think we should just agree to disagree. And hope Jagex tries it, just to end this argument one way or another. I think though, there's only so many small chances Jagex can do to the game. Think of the wilde wall - they need to make the wall then implement the actual wall. Takes time. Presumably more then a day's work, which is how long it stopped the bots for. Imagine bots like the borg. You can hit one with something and kill it with it, but then they adapt and after that it doesn't work. There's only a limited amount of places you can move or ways you can change a rope before it really, really starts 1. Pissing players off. 2. Taking under an hour to implement.

DevBlog 7th March - The Clan Camp
I like how the blog talks a bunch about the buildings, and the trees, and the making of this area, yet reveals absolutely nothing about the clan features it offers. At all. Frankly, they made the main point of this DevBlog simply discussing possible graphical improvements, while casually mentioning some sort of odd clan area south of falador.

Frankly, I gotta agree with the whole concept of "if lots of MMOs have trouble with bots, I don't think a random teenager on the internet knows how to fix it" pretty much sums up my views. Problem is, the people who make bots adapt too. If you were a bot maker, would you give up if the landscape was always changing, or would you try to figure out some way to deal with it? You'd probably figure out some way to deal with it and, frankly, soon enough I'd expect the bot maker to succeed. You can win the battle against bots with small lil victories like messing with terrain, but at the end of the days the botters will probably win. Thing is, they can only change the game so much before suddenly players get annoyed at it. And all the botters have to do is keep up with the J Mods anyways. Again, I agree with his sentiment - what makes you think you know some magical solution that will stop bots that have eluded a crap ton of MMOs?

Any achievement or level you gain will someday be done faster and easier with less effort. I got 99 range using a magic shortbow; can we ban everyone who got 99 range using a crossbow/pc/soulwars? Because I feel really under valued now. Editing in reply to green. People who chin at SW/PC. lol

Elemental Workshop three
Um, that "puzzle" has three puzzles in it. You solve puzzle 1, stuff happens, now you gotta solve something else. If you managed one of the puzzles, then you'd have that one forever beaten, and you start at the next one. Chances are you beat one of the puzzles, so the puzzle would reset to something different this time. (Puzzle 2 or whatnot.) That's probably your problem.

Thing is, if botters/RWTers were put on the private server because of bots or RWT.... That server would be boring, because you'd pay for a maxed level account to only fight people with a maxed level account. Some would find it fun, but....it's not a very tangible though, but I don't think it would be very enjoyable. You'd get to mess around with the best stats and the best gear, against other people with the best stats and the best gear. Well, yes, that would be fun for a while, but after a few months it gets boring and people wander off (depending on how much people pay for cash on these servers.) Plus, bots and RWT would STILL offer something Jagex wouldn't - the ability to get these skills and items on normal servers, where you get a severe advantage vs other players. Wow.... I've seen a lot of doomsaying articles lately, and a bunch saying Jagex was only in it for the money..... This is the first one that's convinced me. Most of them are a rant about change.... This article is actually quite depressing. I want to believe your wrong about the Gowers and Constant Teddy quitting, and that the form was just faked.... Gosh....I just hope they finish off the quests soon. I suddenly feel that my time on RS has just become very, very limited. This article is one of the most depressing things I've read in a long time. Now that I think about it, the wilde wyrs are, in fact, probably the worst update I can think of. All they are is an attempt to cash in more on the popularity of the wilde.

Big Brother Is Watching
Before anything else, I'd like to point out the last part of my post, which shows two consecutive posts - one from the OP on sept 6, one from amitoz yesterday. Note the word consecutive. Without any context, they'll see: "Give me your password and I'll scam you!" I have actually seen worse scam attempts done seriously, sad as that may be. If this is all they see in the report it's enough for them to action. If I was a Jagex employee I'd probably have done the same thing, just to be safe. Not actioning it means that I may have just let a password scammer go, and that isn't worth the risk. If we were to fear scammers like that, then Jagex should never have incorporated a talking head that tells you to take all your items to the Abyss. We should remove that too, just to be safe. The abyssal demon isn't trying to take anything from you though. Ok, am I the only person who thinks it isn't that big of a deal either way? Yeah, it'd be nice if Jagex could detect sarcasm. It's semi-obvious because of how blatant it is. On the other hand, when you get banned because you explicitly asked someone to tel you what their password is, you can't blame the mod for hitting the report button. Anyways, the big brother scenario is unfeasible, because it's impossible to have the man-power to watch over everybody (although with today's technology you could monitor all of what a lot of people do O_O) You know, the reports probably are looked at by people, not an algorithm; bored people, who are annoyed because they're spending several hours looking at everything that got reported for abuse. Tell me, how much of a sense of humour would you have after spending a few hours doing that? At the end of the day, you shouldn't have said that, you shouldn't have gotten reported, you shouldn't have gotten muted, and Jagex doesn't have a big brother super computer program with A.I. smart enough to read through every single line of writing typed by someone on RS and ban them accordingly. Jagex could actually keep track of everything anyone said on RS, but that'd require a lot of memory in order to hold that, and it'd be impossible to effective search through that database in order to find every single thing you could ban someone for. haha lol i hate people like that its pathetic How is it pathetic? The fact that he thinks his girlfriend has such delicate sensibilities that he must report, mute and show off his special abilities/privilege of muting upon report in order to protect her? Several ways I can spin that above sentence, none of them positive. The 'stickler' would be whatever Jagex employee muted you, not me. These two posts were consecutive. Figures Amitoz would bring a thread from september back from the graveyard.

Close please
Heh. I was looking for this topic not that long ago but couldn't find it. New way to kill Jad: using only Venge. Bahahaha. If your up to the challenge. Won't blame you if your not. You'd definitely want Torva, EEE, and Karamja Elite done lol. (No idea if you have or haven't.) And yeah, as I said earlier, there was a point in my Jad attempts where I would have tried that.

If you could re-name Runescape, what would you...
I hope your being sarcastic. It's actually RuneScape. Rune Scape. Not run escape. Sadly though, StandGrind would still be a fairly accurate name... Other favorites: EliteScape. EfficiencyScape. FlameScape. BotScape.

Are you ready for new high level Slayer content?
Interesting point. Very interesting. In fact, I'd never thought about slayer that way before. I suppose the key question here is wether monsters are on a rolling scale of good to bad. Being able to kill abyssal demons may not be as fancy as being able to kill frost dragons, BUT you might still think it's worthwhile even if you can kill frost dragons. I'm not sure frosts and tormenteds are necessarily better monsters to kill than all the other ones you can try with slayer. For one thing, they might not be as fun. I suppose your argument, however, destroys a lot of point to skills. For example: There is no point in the bow section of fletching because rangers can get a darkbow. There is no point to smithing and crafting because all things can be obtained as drops or TT rewards, or services bought from NPCs. There is no point to thieving as better things can be obtained from monsters. There is no point to firemaking as ashes can be obtained very easily from level 1 and ranges are throughout runescape. There is no point to runecrafting as runes can be bought from NPCs more easily. So I don't really know what to say. I've never been a fan of slayer, since I don't hugely enjoy the combat aspect of the game, but I've always assumed high-level slayers thought it was absolutely brilliant. In any case, isn't the point of the slayer skill to have fun? No no no, you see.....Well, for one thing, fletching bows, smithing and craftng armour is actually bloody useless. But the thing is, how useful are these things from a macro vs micro point of view? A macro is a large scale point of view. From the larger picture, we need runecrafters and cookers and fishers to keep enough runes and food in the game. Fletching allows the use of cheap and effective broad bolts. I'm actually not entirely positive on crafting/smithing to be honest lol.... The thing is, at a macro-level, a lot of us want things like whips, etc, to be available. But at a micro-level, actually doing things like fishing your food, crafting your runes, slaying for your own whips (or doing any of those for money) might not be the best use of time, or whatever. Basically, what I'm trying to get at, abyssal demons allow the game as a whole access to abyssal whips, the second best overall weapon in the game (and much easier to get then a rapier.) From the individual standpoint of a slayer however, killing abyssal demons for money might not be the best use of one's time. Frankly, I think skilling would be better off with a lot more untradeable rewards, to make it more worthwhile for people to get the level for things. For whatever reasons (I have thoughts on why this is but I'd rather not bring it up here) we've reach a state in the game where tradeable "rewards" from skilling are useless. (By tradeable, I mean using a skill to collect or produce a tradeable item.) The only way for most skills to be worthwhile is to give them untradeable rewards. But on the other hand, I don't want skills that needed for most aspects of the game - pre-Nex (and maybe still now, I don't know) the actual requirements for Bandos, simply due to competition, was pretty much being level 138 with claws, chaotics and overloads.

Disrespectful players
Yes. It really is. But, really, what ARE you gonna do about it? Imo, trying to get the burstinlobs cc to do something about it is dumb, I mean they're pretty big and I can't see them effectively blocking lots of people. All you need is like 200 people on ignore, for one. Plus, that's just one CC, these lurers could just find other people to help them. If the OP said there was two of them, the two of them could help each other in, for example. Really, for lack of a better way of dealing with them, just....accept that douchey asses exist. I still think being AFK or watching a vid while at DKS is just asking for trouble.

couple of questions i need help with
Armoured zombies are instanced or something now. Basically, should be no threat of PK'ers.

Disrespectful players
Two things: 1. Your watching TV while at DK, prepared for two Kings but not the third. (You specifically said in a post you weren't prepared for Supreme.) Your under the assumption he won't come and attack you. Well, that's all fine and dandy, except for crashers/lurers. If you died because someone lured a King over to you while you were watching TV that's your own damn fault. Now before you get mad at me for missing the point of this topic, let's move on to point 2. 2. You tried to report the person to bursting lobs so they wouldn't ever get help from the CC but that failed. Well, that sucks, but really. I can't see trying to report them being productive. Furthermore, there were two of them weren't there? They could help themselves get in there anyways. Or just find help from other people. I think the real solution to this is just to deal with it. Turn private on friend's so they can't follow you. Or, if your confident, die and just get your stuff back from your grave just to troll their efforts lol. And in the future, be prepared for lurers. As the previous poster said, neither you nor bursting lobs can stop people from entering the lair, so deal with it by being prepared next time. Really. Watching TV while playing RS? I'll grant you that some things in RS are mind-numbingly boring, but bosses aren't somewhere you just be watching TV. (Or whatever else you said you were doing.) In dangerous places, you should keep an eye out to make sure you aren't getting killed. And IDC if the only reason you died was because of lurers, despite the fact that with your set-up you were perfectly safe to watch whatever - this is an MMO, other players are part of the game, so if other players can come and make things dangerous and potentially cause you to die, your evidently in an area where death is a big enough risk. Whatever you think SHOULD be the case, that's the reality. I mean, I completely agree that these guys are douches, could use a ban of say a month and never having access to bursting lobs ever, but that's not how life works.

Which void helm is most worthwhile?
No offense, but I find it doubtful that void mage is useful at that one particular spot; more specifically, better then just plain old mystic/infinity/ahrims. Void mage is ok to mage so, so I've heard, but you'd be better off just using standard mage robes I do believe.

idiotic runescape reviews
You know, my friend gets that message fairly frequently on his max. Usually in DG or something. Although, I think it's fairly rare for him to be on RS without several other programs. I dunno. I think the only time I saw something like that was when there was a bugged alt code that sent in a character that RS couldn't handle and crashed everyone who's computer attempted to display it. To above poster: people expect to be able to play a game and understand it without any reading from any other outside source whatsoever. People don't USE the knowledge base; a large amount of people would rather pester someone for help then attempt to do it themselves.

Sneakerpeeperopalipse
 that looks shopped, I can tell by the pixels Actually no, I'm the blue guy with the glory in that picture... I seriously want to level DG to 80 and get a sneakerpeeper >.<

Day of awesome
I don't understand how you could have your first meal at 6pm...
