Spirit Weed Seed/Bestiary update
darkblade986 replied to wagoncn1's topic in Completed Website Corrections
Spirit Weed and Spirit Weed Seeds are considered herbs. As such, they are already in the entries for those monsters under the entry of "Herb" and "Herb Seed. -
That's every Fudge-picking day.. -.- i got the perfect way to counter it, act like a bot. We seriously need a Robot Dance emote for just that kind of situation...

I can try tinkering with my software to try and do that, but either way, here is a copy of that image at about 35kb by using JPEG quality adjustment (this is 85%). EDIT: Doh... forgot the image.

Correction for Black Dragons in Bestiary
darkblade986 replied to Aciani7's topic in Completed Website Corrections
Were you, by any chance, wearing an Accumulator? It is very possible for an Accumulator to sometimes give you small finished products made from steel, and a Toy Mouse is made from a steel clockwork gizmo. -
Define "engine" in the context your looking for. Otherwise, I have no clue what you're asking.

While it is possible, I doubt any of us here have the technical know-how to be able to guide you through it. However, any good laptop will usually have an internet card that has both Ethernet and Dial-Up ports. All you'd have to do is find those ports and you can just plug in the cord from your Desktop computer into your Laptop.

Unknown device (USB mass storage) (please help!)
darkblade986 replied to a topic in Tech and Computers
Go to a Best Buy and get in touch with the Geek Squad. See if they have any way to hack open the device and access the information on it somehow. After that, you will need to get a new one anyways. -

What's the best way to lower kb's...?
darkblade986 replied to rushrock's topic in Tech and Computers
Cruiser actually has a point. I didn't look at the dimensions of your current sig (400x175), which means that the text in it is actually causing your signature to be rule-breaking (on that note, I probably need to double-check my own). As for the quality issue: that is the way that I am able to reduce image size. One of my programs is able to lower the quality of an image, while at the same time lowering the file size. I didn't have to adjust yours too much, so any changes in quality are minimal and really shouldn't be able to be seen unless really looking for it. -

With your current signature, there's no way that you'd be able to get that new one to fit. So instead of tinkering with the one you gave, I took the one you already have and adjusted it so that your new one will fit. Remember, however, that the maximum size for your signature, including lines of text, is 450x175. -

darkblade986 replied to rushrock's topic in Tech and Computers
Well I can tell you this, your signature is already pushing the 450x175 limit. Now if you're looking to have the size reduced, I'm sure someone here or in the Gallery forum could probably give it better size. Just post the image and one of us can take a stab at it. -
Going to solve this really quickly. 1) Your "guide" (if it was the top one) was no where near of high enough quality to constitute being one. You simply listed two tips, which is not a guide. The other person actually wrote a guide, in an organized and quality format, and posted it. 2) If you are referring to the guide on the main site, we do not necessarily use guides posted on our boards. We have our own group of quest writers who do the quests and write up the guides ourself. We do this so we can be confident the information is correct. This likely means that a person placing a guide onto the site will not necessarily receive credit unless information is directly taken from the guide or the guide itself is used. 3) I'm locking this to stop further argument.

I could've sworn you would get skulled in the Bounty Hunter game (or is that just until you leave?).

I already have AVG, Spybot and Adaware, and I'd rather not use Windows Firewall (my mother and her friend, who knows a lot about computers, each say it's a piece of crap). Any other suggestions?

If you look under your text field, where you type in what you want to type into the topic, you'll see a link that says "Add image to post." That's what you'll want to click.

Prologue Issue: I own a Nintendo DS with two games that are Wi-Fi Compatible. The problem is that the router I use has WPA encryption on it. A Nintendo DS will only connect to your router if it uses WEP connection; Otherwise, you need to find another way to connect to the internet. The solution to this would be a specific adapter made by Nintendo. This adapter (called, rather obviously, a Wi-Fi USB Connector) connects to my USB drive on my computer and allows the DS to use that computer's internet, avoiding the encryption issues because it communicates with the device, rather than the router. The Main Issue: This connector has one problem (that would presently affect me). The connector is incompatible with the Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite. The only way to connect with the device is if this program is *completely* uninstalled from the system. Turning off the Firewall does nothing. I am currently using the free version of ZoneAlarm (the one that you downgrade to after your 15-day trial expires). I have two questions regarding this. 1) Is this free version still considered the "Internet Security Suite" or is it a different program, and would that give a possibility that it would work? 2) Zone Alarm is the only program to be confirmed to have an issue with the connector. Can anyone suggest a Firewall (ideally a free one) that is comparable or better than Zone Alarm?

Runecrafting to be the top trained Skill for 2008?...
darkblade986 replied to Leoo's topic in General Discussion
Regarding the 30k / day xp limit for skills, I did some quick math. If you did the assist system for runecrafting, you would be able to have 3000+ nature runes (in single runs) crafted before you'd hit your limit. Assuming that people are bringing 27 pure essence (plus 1 space for teleport), that means that a player can do approximately 120 inventories before the assist system will kick in and they would have to begin making the runes on their own. While I admit that this is a low amount to a dedicated runecrafter, it's still a decent quantity of runes, none the less. -

I must agree with Tripsis. I made the initial mistake when I made the first post under a mis-interpretation; I've acknowledged the mistake, and the discussion should return to the Emoticon count, rather than Emoticons themself. -
I've done some math of my own (while I was wasting some Cosmic Runes trying to get 87 Magic at the Mage Training Arena) and I realized that if you used all 4 arenas, it is possible to make a profit by purchasing 1 specific item from the store (in bulk) of about 2-3k per item. The bonus is that all the runes you need are either easily craftable (double-crafting Cosmics comes early) or easily purchased (Laws and Natures flood the Grand Exchange). One Word: Battlestaves I don't know exactly what my math was, but using idealistic math (meaning that you manage to do it as efficiently as possible with minimal loss of effect), it's possible to "purchase" Battlestaves from the Mage Training Arena for less than 6k. I'm currently working on getting the Bones to Peaches spell, and something interesting I've found is that when I calculated needing ~200 Nature Runes to get this spell in the Graveyard Arena, I'm at 180ish points but I've only used a little more than 100 Natures instead.

If we do add more they should be the same style, you can tell that is diffrent from #-o and :) you can tell they are from different sets. Yeah, I know that there's a difference, but that was really just supposed to give an idea as to what should be aimed for if/when looking for a new one. -

Ah. Now I understand. I didn't realize that our boards placed an emoticon limit in count, not in what there is. I had never experienced this because I rarely ever used more than 2 or 3 emoticons per post. Although I do think we still need a better *Facepalm* emoticon... #-o just doesn't cut it. Perhaps this: -
